Abstract

The aim of the research is to improve the learning outcome of mathematics on fraction through the application of realistic approach. The research was conducted to 24 students of the fourth grade at SDN Cilendek Timur 2 Bogor. The research method employed was Classroom Action Research with the model Kemmis and Taggart which consists of four steps: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research was undergone in three cycles. The result research shows that there is improvement of the learning result on fraction. In the first cycle, the percentage of students getting the score of 70 or higher was 12.5%, in the second cycle, it reached 56.5%, and in the third cycle it was 92%. The students and teacher’s activities were in accordance with realistic approach reaching 92.5% at the end of the third cycle. Therefore, it can be inferred that the application of realistic approach is able to improve students’ learning outcome on fraction. Thus it is recommended that teachers use realistic approach as one of the alternatives to teach mathematics, especially on fraction.

Abstract

Writing is a difficult skill to be taught. Students have problems especially in essay writing. They feel afraid to write their ideas and make errors and mistakes. This research aimed to find out the use of scaffolding techniques on students’ ability to write an essay. The research was conducted at the English Language Education Study Program of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University. There are 12 students from fourth semester as the participants. In this research, pre-experimental methods with one group pre-test and post-test designs are used. Written test is given to measure students’ ability to write an essay. The data are analysed using the t-test formula. According to the data analysis, the mean of the difference was 19,75. Furthermore, the t-test value is 7,78. Meanwhile, t-table value is 2,20 at significant level 0,05 with degree of freedom (df) is 11. It shows that the t-test value is higher than the t-table value (7,78 more than 2,20). It means that an alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. In conclusion, the result shows that scaffolding technique is effective to be applied.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan tingkat keeratan hubungan antara Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dan Kepuasan Kerja Guru dengan Komitmen Organisasional Guru. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Cibinong Kabupaten Bogor dengan menggunakan metode survei dengan teknik korelasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah guru sekolah dasar negeri yang berstatus pegawai negeri sipil dengan sampel sebanyak 40. Temuan penelitian yaitu: (1) Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan komitmen organisasional guru; (2) Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepuasan kerja guru dengan komitmen organisasional guru; (3) Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kepuasan kerja guru secara bersama-sama dengan komitmen organisasional guru. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa komitmen organisasional guru dapat ditingkatkan secara signifikan sejalan dengan perbaikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kepuasan kerja guru.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to find out the correlation between self-concept and social quotient and students’ achievement on social science subject. The research is a correlational reseach conducted to the students of Bina Insani elementary school located at the district of Tanah Sareal, Bogor, with the number of population reached 125 students of all fifth grade classes. The number of the sample was gained by using Taro Yamane formula. From the total number of 125 students, those chosen as participants were only 95 students. The research used survey method with correlational technique. Based on the result of data analysis, the research shows that there is positive correlations among: 1) self-concept and the achievement on social science subject; 2) Social quotient and the achievement on social science subject; 3) both self-concept and social quotient and the achievement on social science subject. Based on the findings of the research, it can be inferred that the achievement of social science subject of the fifth grade students at SD Bina Insani located at the district of Tanah Sareal, Bogor can be improved by enhancing students’ self-concept and their social quotient.

Abstract

Teaching speaking is one of the important parts of foreign language learning. The ability to communicate in a second language is a key to the success of the learner to master English language and to his success in their real life. The fact that cannot be denied is that sometimes students feel reluctant to speak because of shyness and fear of making a mistake. Three-step Interview technique is one of the techniques from cooperative learning that has many positive effects. This research is conducted to find out the effect of using Three-Step Interview technique on students’ speaking ability. It is conducted online at Pakuan University. In this research, a pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test is used. There are 30 students in the first semester as samples. The data are taken from pre-test and post-test. Some steps are done to analyse the data and the design of the t-test formula is applied to get the final result. Based on the data calculation, it shows the t-test value is 19.7. The results of t-test and t-table with d.f = 29 at significant level 0.05 is 2.04. It shows that t-test value is higher than t-table (19.7 greater than 2.04). It means that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, there is an effect of using a three-step interview technique on students’ speaking ability.

Abstract

The research is aimed at finding out the difference of science literacy between the students of three classes with the learning models of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) in the material of Life Organization using the media of Music and Video of Science (Muvis). It involved two classes: an experimental class and a control class. The population was students of SMPN 18 Bogor grade VII. The technique employed for taking the sample was Purposive Sampling. The sample used was the class of VII-A as the experimental class I. they were treated by Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and Muvis with the number of the students reached 35 students, the class of VII-B as the experimental class II was treated by Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) model and Muvis and the number of the students was 36 students. The last, the class of VII-C was made as the control class with no innovative treatment and they were 36 students. The test of ANAVA in the significant level of α = 0,05 showed that the value of Fobserved for science literacy was 52 and Ftable was 3,07, thus the value of Fobserved more than Ftable. Based on the result, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the working hypothesis (H1) is accepted therefore, it can be concluded that there is difference of science literacy between PBL Muvis, GDL Muvis and the control class. The implementation of GDL Muvis in the class gave better influence to the science literacy compared to the implementation of PBL Muvis in another class and the control class with the average score of N-Gain 57.

Abstract

APPLICATION OF THE STUDENT TEAM ACHIEVEMENT DIVISION LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES ON THE THEME OF JIHADDUN NAFSIThe aim of this research was to determine the learning outcomes of students in Islamic Education about Jihaddun Nafsi through the learning method Student Team Achievement Division for X IPS 3 students in SMA Negeri 9 Bogor. This research was a descriptive analitic study conducted from July to December 2017. This research used classroom action research with two cycles. Technique of sampling used purposive sampling. The observation data are include student’s score in this subject. The population of this study was students of  SMA Negeri 9 Bogor. The sample in this study was the students of SMA Negeri 9 Bogor on the result, this method can increase learning outcomes from average 71 to 81,33 on the 1st cycle and 86,39 on the 2nd cycle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Matika tentang penjumlahan dan pengurangan dua pecahan dengan penyebut berbeda  di kelas VI SD Negeri Bantarjati 6 Bogor melalui penerapan model Model Pembelajaran Example non Example. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI di SD Negeri Bantarjati 6 Bogor sebanyak 39 siswa, dengan komposisi perempuan 19 siswa dan laki-laki 20 siswa. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik dan alat pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif terhadap data berupa dokumen hasil pekerjaan siswa, daftar nilai dan lembaran observasi Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Example non example  dapat menjadi variasi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi peserta didik sehingga terbukti meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik di Kelas VI di SD Negeri Bantarjati 6 Bogor Kota Bogor. Sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran example non example hasil belajar peserta didik hanya mencapai nilai rata-rata 64,10 kemudian terjadi peningkatan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran example non example menjadi 73,08  pada siklus 1 dan 81,28 pada siklus 2. Oleh  karena itu penerapan Model Pembelajaran Example non example yang disesuaikan dengan  materi pembelajaran dapat menciptakan situasi belajar yang menyenangkan sehingga terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to determine the direct effects of the State Public Junior High School Principals’ Leadership Behaviour, Organizational Culture, Work Motivation, and Decision Making towards Work Performance. The data were collected through 4 months survey to the State Public Junior High Schools in Bogor Regency and Bogor City involving samples of 62 Principals had been selected from the target population of 102 principals. The path technique was used to analyse the data. The research found positive direct effect of leadership behaviour, organizational culture, work motivation, decision making on work performance; leadership behaviour, organizational culture on work motivation; leadership behaviour, organizational culture, work motivation on decision making. Based on the result of research, this indicates the crucial role of leadership behaviour, organizational culture, work motivation, and decision making on the principals’ work performance. This implies that improved work performance of the State Public Junior High School Principals can be realized through improving on leadership behaviour, organizational culture, work motivation, and decision making. These findings suggest that the leadership behaviour, organizational culture, work motivation, and decision making are important determinants of the principals’ work performance.

Abstract

The accomplishment of the educational goals is determined by the learning process experienced by the students. In fact, a qualified learning process is determined by professional quality and the teachers’ dedication, facilities, infrastructures learning media (books, laboratory, sport facilities and infrastructures) and the evaluation of the learning system used as a part of empowering strategy in education. The right educational autonomy is accountable, which means that the educational policy taken is accountable to the public, since schools are built by the public or for meeting the need of the society. Autonomy without public accountability can lead to arbitrary decision. The central government is not allowed to disturb the educational area of the central government but they can make national policy, such as the aspects of quality and equality
