Abstract

The research is a classroom action which is aimed at improving the learning outcome of natural science subject with the research subjects of 42 students at class VIII-5. The research was done in two cycles. Each cycle has 4 steps, namely: planning, doing, observing, and reflecting. At the end of each cycle, there was a test with the instruments that had been validated and tested for its reliability. Based on the result of reflection of the previous year, the average score was 66,12 and the percentage of students achieving the score above the minimum was 45,24%. When Jigsaw model combined with the scientific approach were conducted, the average score and the percentage improved. At the first cycle, the average score of IPA subject with the aspect of cognitive reached 70,56 and the percentage of students getting the score above the minimum was 64,29% and at the second cycle, it improved into 75,32 and the achieving percentage was 80,95%. The learning result from the aspect of attitude was 61,90% the students got good category for the first cycle, while in the second cycle, the percentage of students getting good category 76,19%. The learning outcome from the aspect of skill reached 57,14% of students getting high category was. Second treatment at the first cycle was 61,90%, first treatment in the second cycle was 66,67%, second treatment in the second cycle was 76,19 and the third treatment in the second cycle was 78,57%, the students got high category. This result shows that the implementation of Jigsaw model with scientific approach can improve students’ learning outcome of natural science class at class VIII-5 SMP Negeri 2 Cicurug

Abstract

Higher education contributes to the improvement of students’ understanding and the change of behavior into being more responsible to the living environment. Strategies and approaches put as a learning model are required to solve the students’ problem related to environmental sensitivity. The models of free inquiry and concept mapping are able to plant the basics of scientific way of thinking in the students’ mind and help them develop critical thinking, creative and innovative patterns that can lead them to solve the problems related to the environment. The research is a classroom action research aimed at finding out a learning strategy which is more creative and innovative, improving students’ learning motivation, solving environmental problems and relating them to the students’ daily life. The research was conducted at Biology Education Study Program of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences Faculty, Pakuan University in the academic year of 2013-2014 involving the students of the third semester class A. The research consisted of two cycles. There were two treatments in each cycle. The research result shows that there was an improvement of students’ enthusiasm in the first cycle reaching 73% improved into 84% in the second cycle. The average score of students’ understanding on environmental pollution at the first cycle was 69.11% and the completion percentage was 66.67%, at the second cycle, the average score improved to 76.56 and the completion percentage became 83.33%. At the first cycle, the average score of students’ ability to solve environmental problems was 69.74 and the completion percentage was 63.33% at the second cycle, the average score improved to 77.69 and the completion percentage was 86.67%.

Abstract

Supervisi pendidikan merupakan hal krusial yang perlu dilakukan sebagai salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan yang memperhatikan seluruh komponen sumber daya organisasi. Supervisi pendidikan yang dilaksanakan secara sistematis dan berkesinambungan dapat menjadi modal untuk mengangkat citra sekolah di masyarakat. Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang dilakukan di SD Pertiwi Kota Bogor ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana implementasi supervisi pendidikan ditinjau dari elemen objek, subjek, tujuan dan waktu pelaksanaan supervisi yang tentu menggunakan berbagai macam teknik-teknik supervisi pendidikan. Sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum serta satu orang guru dan sumber data sekunder berupa dokumen-dokumen bukti pelaksanaan supervisi. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi serta analisis dokumentasi. Validasi data dilakukan dengan cara triangulasi dan member check. Penelitian diawali dengan menentukan fokus utama, sub fokus, pencarian data, reduktsi data, interpretasi data serta pengambilan kesimpulan penelitian. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa SD Pertiwi Kota Bogor sudah menjalankan rangkaian kegiatan supervisi secara sitematis, terencana , dan terstruktur dengan mengimplementasikan teknik supervisi individu maupun kelompok melalui berbagai kegiatan  sehingga hal tersebut menjadi modal dasar SD Pertiwi sebagai salah satu SD yang memiliki citra positif di masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif antara peneliti, observer, dan obyek yang diteliti dengan dua siklus. Tujuan dalam penelitian  ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan pada siswa kelas V melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Karadenan Kecamatan Cibinong Kabupaten Bogor yang terdiri dari 40 siswa, dengan komposisi 17 siswa perempuan dan 23 siswa laki-laki. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dua siklus, setiap siklus satu kali pertemuan. hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kualitas proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada siklus pertama memperoleh nilai 82 dan siklus kedua memperoleh nilai 93,5. Begitu pula dengan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa menunjukan adanya peningkatan pada Kerjasama, Keberanian, Ketelitian siswa dengan memperoleh nilai pada siklus pertama 72 dan siklus kedua memperoleh nilai 82. adapun rata-rata hasil belajar pada siklus pertama memperoleh nilai rata-rata 69,7 dengan ketuntasan hasil belajar secara klasikal sebesar 62,5%. Pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan ratarata nilai hasil belajar menjadi 78,6 dengan ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal sebesar 87,5%. Penelitian ini berkesimpulan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script dapat memperbaiki proses hasil belajar mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan pada siswa kelas V di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Karadenan Kecamatan Cibinong Kabupaten Bogor.

Abstract

The research is aimed at finding out the quality improvement and learning outcome of social science subject of the fifth grade students through Cooperative Learning Inside Outside Circle. The subjects of the research were the fifth grade students of an elementary school. There were 59 students with the composition of 28 males and 31 females. The study was conducted in the odd semester in 2015/2016. The research result shows that the learning outcome in the first cycle reached 70,48 or the percentage of passing grade was 46,55% while in the second cycle, it reached 78,62 or the percentage of passing grade was 84,48%; it means that the treatment was successful. For the quality of the learning, in the first cycle it reached 76%, and in the second cycle it was 86%. The observational result shows that students’ behavior improved. In the first cycle it reached 70%, while in the second it was 90%. Based on the research result above, it can be inferred that the implementation of Cooperative Learning Inside Outside Circle could improve the learning outcome of social science subject. Besides that, it could also improve the learning quality, students, participation and behavior.

Abstract

Learning foreign language becomes one of the needs that should be trained from an early start. Children from an early age have to be prepared to be ready for it as they will learn to communicate with others. Therefore, in order to assist the children in learning to talk the new language, young learners’ teachers need to create such activities that can improve the students’ ability to speak. However, in the application, the teachers are often questioning what strategies to prepare in order to teach spoken language to young learners. This research aims to investigate the strategies applied by the teachers in teaching spoken language to young learners. Four teachers are involved as participants in this research. This qualitative research uses descriptive analysis design to describe the strategies applied by the teachers at Cita Harmoni Montessori School in teaching spoken language to young learners. Three steps of triangulation are used in this research, they are; classroom observation, interview, and focus group discussion. The findings show that the teachers employ some strategies in order to teach spoken language to young learners who are around four until six years of age. Those strategies are; conversation, talking partner, repetition, gesture, picture, flashcard, song, and video.

Abstract

This paper is aimed to know the students’ difficulties in statistics especially in formulating experimental statistics data. Descriptive method is used to describe and analyze students’ barries in statistics. Students’ work as documentation, questionnaire and interview are used for collecting the data. The data from the documentation, questionnaire, and interview showed that the students have difficulties in the experimental data calculation. There are factors that cause their difficulties in experimental statistics data calculation. First, they seldom read experimental statistic data processing. Second, the experimental formula is more difficult from others statistic formulas. Many tables should be prepared, and taking the conclusion is also becoming students’ difficulties. To overcome these barriers, basic of math or statistics, the usage of suitable teaching method and technique are needed very much. It may change students’ behavior towards this material. Additionally, sharing to friends and students’ perception change will affect their confidence towards experimental statistics data calculation.

Abstract

THE EFFORTS OF HEADMASTER TO IMPROVE TEACHERS 'ABILITY IN COMPUTER USE THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF THE PEER TEACHING METHOD IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL (SMP NEGERI 5), BOGOR CITYThis research was motivated by the lack of teachers' ability to use computers. This can affect the process and quality of learning in the classroom. Therefore a school principal must strive to improve the competence and ability of teachers in using computers, in this case the effort made is to use the Peer Teaching method. This study aims to (1) determine that the application of the peer teaching method can improve the ability of teachers of SMP Negeri 5 Bogor in using computers. (2) describes the process of increasing the ability of teachers at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor in using computers after the peer teaching method was applied. (3) measuring the amount of improvement in the ability of teachers at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor in using computers after the peer teaching method was applied. The results of this study indicate that before the application of the peer teaching method on computer use at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor, of the 46 teachers in SMP 5 Bogor, there were 12 teachers who were not able to use computers. Then an effort was made to improve the teacher's ability to use computers, namely through the application of the peer teaching method. still unable, then improvements were made in cycle II so that there was a significant increase in the presence of 6 teachers who became proficient in using computers and 6 teachers who were able to use computers. From the above description, the researcher concludes that the application of the peer teaching method used can improve the ability of teachers to use computers, therefore the researcher suggests that the application of the peer teaching method needs to be socialized and used in schools in the Bogor City Education Office.

Abstract

Penyelenggaraan pembelajaran saat ini menuntut para guru untuk dapat mempersiapkan berbagai keterampilan kepada siswa dalam mendukung tercapainya sumber daya manusia Indonesia yang unggul. Untuk itu, pembelajaran di berbagai tingkat pendidikan khususnya jenjang sekolah dasar perlu mengalami pembaharuan, salah satunya yaitu kemampuan guru dalam merancang dan membuat perangkat pembelajaran yang dapat memberikan bekal dan melatih siswa untuk memiliki berbagai keterampilan sehingga mereka siap bersaing secara global. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hasil dari pelatihan dan asistensi model pembelajaran Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-and Create (RADEC) terhadap guru-guru Sekolah Dasar yang berada di wilayah Priangan Timur Jawa Barat. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masayarakat melibatkan 12 guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Ciamis Jawa Barat. Metodologi penelitain menggunakan pendekatan deskriptip kualitatif. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan Google Drive. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru sekolah dasar mampu merancang dan membuat perangkat pembelajaran model pembelajaran RADEC berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), pertanyaan pra-pembelajaran dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD), sehingga diharapkan guru-guru dapat mengimplementasikan perangkat pembelajaran yang dibuatnya di sekolah untuk mendapatkan pengalaman dan pengetahuan baru.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui Metode Eksperimen dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik tentang sistem pencernaan pada manusia; (2) menggambarkan proses peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik tentang Sistem Pencernaan manusia sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode eksperimen; (3) mengukur besarnya peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik tentang sistem pencernaan pada manusia menggunakan metode eksperimen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen dapat menjadi variasi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi peserta didik sehingga terbukti meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Sebelum menggunakan metode eksperimen hasil belajar peserta didik hanya mencapai nilai rata-rata 69,03 kemudian terjadi peningkatan setelah menggunakan metode eksperimen  menjadi 77,82 pada siklus 1 dan 87,55 pada siklus 2. Dari uraian di atas peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode eksperimen yang disesuaikan dengan  materi pembelajaran dapat menciptakan situasi belajar yang menyenangkan sehingga terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik. Oleh  karena itu peneliti menyarankan agar penggunaan metode eksperimen disosialisasikan dan digunakan sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah-sekolah di lingkungan Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bogor.
