Abstract

Background: Touching the digital era requires innovation to make work easier, including the inventory system so that it is more optimal, effective and efficient. The aim of this research is to facilitate the inventory process of laboratory equipment so that it is more optimal, effective and efficient. Methods: This research applies the Research and Development (RnD) method. The website prototype was assessed by two experts who have high qualifications, including master's degrees and experience in creating physiotherapy service applications. Apart from assessment by experts, the prototype was also evaluated by physiotherapy students from Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta class 2021 to 2023 via an online questionnaire. Results: Test results show that the existing features and menus provide ease of use in providing information to users. Based on the results of expert assessments and testing of the website, it was found that the website can be used according to its function, although there are still many shortcomings and things that need to be improved to be used as a reference for further research and development. Conclusion: The website in the form of a prototype laboratory facility inventory system implemented in the UMS physiotherapy study program is quite suitable for use, although it still requires further improvement and development so that the website is better to use.

Abstract

Background: Structure sustained structural damage, lost possessions, and incurred financial losses due to the fire. Disaster simulation is a tool that can be used to train people to prepare themselves in the face of disasters. The goal of the study is to determine how fire simulation affects community readiness in the event of a residential fire disaster. Methods: The study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test without a control group. A total of 20 respondents participated in a fire disaster simulation, and their preparedness levels were evaluated before and after the simulation using purposive sampling. Results: The simulation was provided, the all of respondents had a preparedness level categorized as unprepared, with 20 respondents (100%). After the preparedness simulation, the number of respondents who initially were unprepared increased, with 2 respondents (10%) now categorized as very prepared and 18 respondents (90%) as prepared. The Wilcoxon test analysis shows a p-value of 0.000, which indicates that there is an effect of fire simulation on the community's preparedness to face household fires. Conclusion: The fire simulation had a positive impact on enhancing community preparedness for household fires.

Abstract

Background: A coping strategy is an individual's effort to reduce demands or stress. Lecturers at Sangga Buana University utilize various coping strategies. This study aims to measure and describe coping strategies based on two dimensions and eight types outlined by Lazarus & Folkman, namely problem-focused strategies and emotion-focused strategies.  Methods: This study employs a mixed-method approach with a concurrent nested design and identical sampling. The qualitative approach explores in depth the coping strategy selection process among two female lecturers with maternal status, based on statistical measurements using Lazarus & Folkman’s (1984) instrument from the quantitative phase. Qualitative data analysis includes transcription, classification, and drawing conclusions.  Results:The findings present quantitative data in tabular form and describe the coping strategies used by the research subjects. Both subjects applied strategies from both coping dimensions but in different forms. These coping strategies could either facilitate or hinder each other in the coping process.  Conclusion: The study reveals that lecturers who are also mothers at Sangga Buana University employ both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies to manage stress. These strategies influence their social functioning and role performance. The subjects adaptively utilize all coping dimensions, adjusting to environmental demands and available resources, with the aim of restoring balance and mitigating psychological and environmental stressors.

Abstract

Background: Badminton players need good grip muscle strength to hit the ball while playing. Muscle strength can be increased by training and using forearm sleeves. There are two types of forearm sleeves, namely compression forearm sleeves and non-compression forearm sleeves. Both types differ in the materials used. The compression type has polyamide material, and the non-compression type has polyester material. Both have different elasticity. Elasticity affects the compression of the muscles. The more elastic a material is, the more it will compress. Purpose: to find out whether there is a difference in the use of compression forearm sleeves and non-compression forearm sleeves on grip muscle strength in badminton players. Method: This research method is quasi experimental with a two group pretest posttest design. The population in this study was 40 with a total sample of 22 players taken using purposive sampling techniques according to the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: This test used a paired t-test and obtained a p value of 0.000 for the compression type with an average difference of 1 with an increase of 4.6%. The non-compression group used the Wilcoxon test with a p value of 0.003. Has an average difference of 0.5909 with an increase of 2%. Conclusion: The use of compression forearm sleeves is better for increasing grip muscle strength in badminton players than the use of non-compression forearm sleeves.

Abstract

Background: Early cessation of breastfeeding is a significant health problem, considering that exclusive breastfeeding has been proven to provide important benefits for the health of mother and child. Risk factors such as maternal factors including age, education level, employment status, family income, parity, and mode of delivery contribute to the decision to stop breastfeeding early. Purpose: This study aimed to identify dominant factors that contribute to early cessation of breastfeeding Method: This study applied a cross-sectional design. 30 breastfeeding mothers who exclusively breastfeed after giving birth up to six months were selected as respondents through purposive sampling technique. Respondents were then asked to fill out the questionnaire of the Breastfeeding Attrition Prediction tool (BPAT) to identify early breastfeeding cessation. Data analysis was performed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate methods using chi-square and logistic regression. Result: The study clearly shows that parity, employment status, and mode of delivery are significantly linked to each other with early breastfeeding cessation (p < 0.05). Employment status is the most influential factor in early breastfeeding cessation, p-value 0.000 (OR=14.34; CI 95% 6.7–32.4). Conclusion: Employment status was the dominant predictive factor that has the potential for early breastfeeding cessation. Working mothers are more likely to opt for early weaning due to time constraints, workplace challenges, and fatigue.
