Abstract

The year 2022 has been proclaimed as the year of tolerance by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. To support this discourse, there is a new cooperation program carried out by religious universities called KKN Nusantara Collaboration. This collaboration program is carried out by I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa State Hindu University Denpasar, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, and Walisongo State Islamic University Semarang to provide space for students to serve the community by promoting tolerance. Referring to this collaboration, researchers have an interest in examining the implications of the 'KKN Nusantara Collaboration' program. This study formulates three problem formulations, namely the urgency of tolerance in Indonesian education, the form of work programs in the 'KKN Nusantara Collaboration' and finally the implications in maintaining the quality of tolerance in education. Choosing qualitative research with a phenomenological approach, as well as collecting data through literature studies and having Miles and Huberman Interactive data analysis techniques, this study shows the results of the content and discussion that, the 'KKN Nusantara Collaboration' program is the answer to the urgency of cultivating tolerance in Indonesian education. The 'KKN Nusantara Collaboration' program can be made in the form of several activities, including the introduction of holy places, preservation of regional culture, socialization of religious moderation, and celebration of Independence Day. All of these activities have a positive impact in maintaining the quality of tolerance.

Abstract

The background of this research is the phenomenon of sex education among Buddhist parents. The objective of this research is to describe the awareness of Buddhist parents in Getasan District, Semarang Regency, concerning sex education for elementary school-age children. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The subjects consist of Buddhist parents in Getasan District, Semarang Regency, who had elementary school-age children aged 6–12 years. The method of data collection is done by using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data display, and verification, as well as drawing conclusions. The importance of sex education for elementary school-age children encompasses aspects such as education based on learning outcomes and parental awareness, understanding grounded in explanations of the anatomy and reproductive organs of both genders, knowledge based on the impact of sexual harassment and violence, the inculcation of love and adherence to five moral rules in children, and measures for preventing and addressing sexual violence; (2) Influential factors on Buddhist parents concerning sex education for elementary school-age children include parental knowledge and child-rearing approaches, parental role modeling, family financial status, peer influence, and community dynamics; (3) The role of Buddhist parents in sex education for elementary school-age children involves guiding children to perform virtuous deeds, being a child’s friends, serving as role models, explaining methods to prevent violence against children through the implementation of the five precepts (moral code of conduct) and shame of evil and fear of its result, loving-kindness and the noble eightfold path, as well as highlighting the significance of Buddhist values for the well-being of children.

Abstract

Major challenges in education in Indonesia include the complexity of the curriculum, frequent changes, and the placement of teachers according to their expertise. To overcome this, the government launched the Teacher Mover in schools program as part of efforts to implement the independent learning curriculum. This program aims to obtain an overview of the implementation of the driving teacher program in schools regarding the role of the program, training activities, obstacles and benefits. Qualitative descriptive research was analyzed thematically with the help of the NVivo 12 application. The results focused on teachers' driving role as leaders in learning and creative teachers. The subfocus of training and mentoring activities found interesting indicators such as program evaluation, providing mentoring, managing the quality of activities, and solving program problems. Next, the subfocus of challenges and benefits will be discussed in depth in this scientific article.

Abstract

The diction or terms used in the 2024 presidential election battle are some deliberately coined, while others emerge inadvertently, which can lead to multiple interpretations and meanings. Candidate pairs and, on the other hand, can also decrease electability in the political atmosphere. This study aims to analyze popular diction in the 2024 presidential election, both from social media and the bustling reality in society. This research employs a qualitative descriptive research design with the assistance of data collection methods such as observation, documentation, and literature review. The analytical tool used is Discourse Analysis. The results of this study indicate that the most popular diction often contains meanings that, when dissected using critical discourse analysis, reveal several perspectives related to the significance of the diction. Terms such as "slepet", "samsul", "cawe-cawe", are the most popular diction that influences both social media and the real world. Many posts are inspired by the diction of the 2024 presidential election, which certainly contains certain political meanings. The choice of diction or language by a leader figure greatly determines the process of garnering votes. Recorded in the diction that emerges in the presidential election, this diction can become an advertisement in another form that contributes to increasing electability

Abstract

The fact is that issues related to change, complexity and uncertainty have had a significant impact on the world of higher education, including official college. This implies the importance of the ability to survive, adapt and compete from the college in line with the dynamics of current developments. Regardless of the various problems, it has been proven that the official colleges are a national asset that has an important and strategic role in the development of human resources in Indonesia. The purpose of this descriptive paper was to explain the urgency of implementing quality assurance among the official colleges through accreditation. Descriptive analysis was carried out based on studies and related laws and regulations. This paper showed that accreditation is important because it is related to aspects of quality assurance, legitimacy and credibility, international recognition, access to public and private funds, transfer and acceptance opportunities, and improving quality and accountability. The use of reference materials, techniques and depth of descriptive analysis may certainly be different from other similar studies. However, this paper may be one of reference materials for stakeholders, especially in addressing the need to accelerate the quality assurance efforts of official college through accreditation.

Abstract

This flipbook-based interactive e-module aims to increase student creativity in the Machine Learning course. This module thoroughly explores basic concepts, algorithms, and practical applications in Machine Learning. The research method involved developing an engaging and interactive learning platform with features such as quizzes, video tutorials, and mini-projects. The research results show increased student engagement and understanding of Machine Learning concepts. This e-module can encourage creative approaches to solving problems. The conclusion highlights the importance of interactive e-modules in boosting creativity and practical learning in Machine Learning education, especially based on digital flipbooks; users can enjoy a more dynamic and interesting learning experience through images, graphs, and other visual elements. Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of a newly proposed Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model compared to the conventional approach among second-year students in the Diploma III Program in Informatics Engineering at Computer Engineering and Informatics Department POLBAN. While the conventional PBL model follows a linear approach, the new model introduces a two-stage learning process with a focus on group formation after the initial phase. The analysis encompasses problem-solving skills, perceptions, and student engagement in PBL. Findings indicate a significant superiority of the new PBL model over the conventional one. Notably, the new model reduces instances of free riders, and students initially categorized as low achievers exhibit notable improvement, transitioning to moderate achievers. Additionally, students initially classified as medium achievers progress to the good category. These results underscore the importance of active participation and individual development in enhancing educational outcomes. The study contributes insights into refining PBL methodologies to foster deeper student engagement and improve problem-solving abilities in higher education settings.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pendidikan menjadi fokus utama peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di era digital. Pendekatan yang menarik adalah pengembangan e-modul berbasis animasi 2D untuk mata kuliah pengantar perpajakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa melalui e-modul interaktif dan menarik yang muncul dari animasi 2D. Metode pengembangan e-modul melibatkan beberapa tahapan, antara lain analisis kebutuhan, desain konten, dan pengembangan animasi 2D, serta evaluasi dan revisi. Animasi 2D menyampaikan konsep perpajakan secara visual dan dinamis sehingga memudahkan siswa dalam memahami dan meningkatkan daya tarik pembelajaran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menerapkan e-modul pada proses belajar siswa. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa e-modul berbasis animasi 2D secara signifikan meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam memahami materi perpajakan. Interaksi yang diperoleh dari e-modul juga memfasilitasi pembelajaran aktif dan partisipatif. Pengembangan e-modul berbasis animasi 2D pada mata kuliah pengantar perpajakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perpajakan dan memperkaya pengalaman belajar mahasiswa melalui pendekatan yang inovatif dan menarik. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam pendidikan untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inspiratif dan dinamis bagi siswa.

Abstract

The learning process utilizes learning resources, especially learning media, so far at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar in science learning, students only use teaching media in the form of textbooks and Student Worksheets (LKS) which are distributed by the school for students to own or buy. So far, science teachers, especially at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar, have only been guided by the available textbooks or worksheets. The media used in delivering material during the teaching and learning process is still conventional in the form of whiteboards, textbooks, worksheets, PPT slides using a monotonous lecture method so that students feel bored. Based on the results of the questionnaire distributed to teachers and students, it is deemed necessary to develop interactive-based learning media, in order to make the learning atmosphere more varied. This research obtained 34 respondents at the start of the research from students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar by distributing online questionnaires. After obtaining the percentage calculation results, a conclusion can be drawn that 80% of students answered yes to the learning material for the classification of living things. This research aims to help students better understand the material on the classification of living things with interesting, effective and practical learning media. The method used in this research is the research and development (R&D) method, which uses the stages of the ADDIE access model. This Interactive Media will be tested by testing students' level of understanding, material testing and media expert testing. Keywords: Interactive Media, Classification of Living Things, ADDIE.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the process of instilling character education values through the Ramayana story in the context of Hindu Religious Education at SD Fajar Harapan. The Ramayana, a narrative rich in life values such as hard work, responsibility, social care, and creativity, serves as a key educational tool for fostering character development in students. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research gathers data through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that teachers play a pivotal role in guiding students to identify and comprehend the character values embedded in the Ramayana. Through the use of video-based learning strategies, students are encouraged to observe and analyze the characters within the story, followed by group discussions that facilitate the differentiation between positive and negative values. The internalization of these values occurs progressively, beginning with the teacher's interpretation and transitioning into interactive discussions that allow students to relate these values to their everyday lives. In conclusion, the Ramayana story proves to be an effective medium for character education, particularly within an educational framework that prioritizes cultural and local value approaches.
