Abstract

Community service through Student Community Service (KKN) in Margasari Village, Purwakarta, aims to empower the community through religious, educational, and socio-cultural approaches. This study identified several challenges in the village, including low levels of education, lack of awareness of environmental cleanliness, and declining spirit of mutual cooperation. An analysis of village conditions shows that most of the population works as farmers or factory workers. The long distance to high school is a barrier for some teenagers to continue their education. In addition, the presence of a final disposal site (TPA) in the village also affects the quality of the environment and public health. To overcome these problems, the community service program focuses on improving the quality of life of the community through various activities. These activities include religious education for youth, increasing awareness of the importance of education, and strengthening socio-cultural values such as mutual cooperation. The results of this program are an increase in the quality of human resources in Margasari Village, the realization of a clean and healthy environment, and the resurgence of the spirit of mutual cooperation in the community. Through an integrated approach between religion, education, and socio-culture, it is expected that this community empowerment program can make a significant contribution to village development.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the ability of students of Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau to publish scientific papers in reputable journals. This activity is the result of collaboration between the service team and the Research, Development, and Community Service Institute. The main problem that is the basis for this service activity is the low Sinta score of Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This is caused by the low ability of students to publish scientific papers resulting from their collaboration with lecturers due to limited knowledge about reputable journals and standards for writing scientific articles in reputable journals. To overcome this problem, education was carried out on the use of the Sinta portal to obtain reputable journals that are relevant to the research topic, and education was also carried out on the standards for writing scientific articles in reputable journals. Based on the results of the evaluation carried out, there was an increase in participants' understanding of the use of Sinta as well as an increase in understanding of writing scientific articles in reputable journals. By increasing the two basic skills of publication in reputable journals, it is hoped that it can improve the quality of scientific papers of students at the Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, so that they can be published in reputable journals and have a positive impact on their Sinta scores.

Abstract

Bullying is a pattern of aggressive behavior, the most vulnerable children face a higher risk of being bullied. The Halmahera Christian Church (GMIH) Elementary School is located in Daeo Village, South Morotai District. As a school under the Ministry of Religion which is located in a Muslim-majority environment, it does not alienate the school community because the school has Muslim teachers and accepts Muslim students. Bullying education is appropriate for children from marginalized communities, children with different gender identities, these criteria are what moved us to create outreach activities about bullying so that religious harmony is maintained. The implementation method is by socializing and playing games to train cohesiveness between teams. The results of the activity provide an understanding of bullying, the impact on friends, and respect for differences. The principal and teachers were also very enthusiastic and received us very well, they hope that activities like this will not only happen once but repeatedly.

Abstract

The training on scientific writing (KTI) for teachers at MAN Insan Cendikia Bangka Tengah represents a strategic step to enhance scientific literacy, given that KTI is a requirement for graduation and class advancement. This training aims to improve teachers' understanding of scientific writing through a guided tutorial method that combines theory with practical application. This method is designed to assist teachers in grasping the stages of KTI writing, from topic selection to proper citation techniques. Results following the training indicate a significant improvement in teachers' comprehension of KTI writing. Therefore, this training not only strengthens the academic literacy skills of teachers but also prepares them to guide students more effectively, thereby creating a quality educational environment that supports the development of an intellectual generation.

Abstract

The development of learning activities in schools is quite important, considering the demands of the 4.0 industrial revolution, which compels students to be more creative in their learning. However, sometimes technology can also be applied in education using simple materials. A Community Service (PkM) activity was conducted at SMA Yadika 8 Bekasi, West Java. The activity took place on May 27, 2024, from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB. The participants in this PkM program were students from SMA Yadika 8 Bekasi, totaling 120 students, consisting of 88 students from grade X and 32 students from grade XI. The PkM at SMA Yadika 8 Bekasi was divided into two teams: the Electric Motor Teaching Aids Team and the Simple Solar Power Plant Teaching Aids Team. The students were very enthusiastic about the demonstrations and took turns observing the teaching aids being showcased. Additionally, they asked questions about how the teaching aids were made and how they functioned. Based on the satisfaction analysis from 17 statements provided, the results indicate that students' satisfaction with the PkM implementation falls into the good category. Participants' responses were categorized into four areas: response to teaching aids, response to training materials, response to training instructors, and the training process. All four areas received good ratings, indicating that the partners were satisfied with the activities conducted by the PkM Team.

Abstract

Pengalaman magang pendidikan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember (UMJ) di SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Kalisat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 13 Januari, dimana mahasiswa dari berbagai jurusan seperti Pendidikan Matematika, Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, dan Pendidikan Jasmani dilibatkan dalam proses pengajaran di sekolah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, survei, dan studi dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi untuk memastikan keabsahan dan keandalan temuan. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pengalaman mahasiswa selama magang dan tantangan yang dihadapi dalam proses pengajaran. Hasil kegiatan magang menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman mengajar di SMK Muhammadiyah memberikan banyak pelajaran berharga bagi guru dan siswa. Interaksi yang baik antara guru dan siswa sangat penting dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang kondusif. Selain itu, metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan harus sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik siswa yang membutuhkan pendekatan yang lebih praktis. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif, serta penguatan program praktik kerja lapangan (PKL) untuk memberikan siswa pengalaman langsung di dunia industri. Komunikasi yang baik antara pihak sekolah dengan orang tua juga sangat penting untuk mendukung perkembangan siswa, baik secara akademis maupun karakter. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan gambaran yang jelas tentang pentingnya pengalaman magang dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Kalisat.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to make it easier for students at SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Kalisat to practice bullet shot skills properly and correctly through the modification of using a tennis ball as a tool. This service was carried out at SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Kalisat with the subject of 11th grade students of all majors while taking physical education, sports and health subjects. The problems experienced include the lack of adequate sports facilities, and the lack of teacher creativity. The implementation method is divided into three stages including preparation, implementation, and assessment and evaluation. The results of this service can improve students' skills in practicing bullet throwing and through a fun approach and the use of safer tools, students can understand the basic techniques of bullet throwing better.

Abstract

Efforts to develop assistive devices for children with disabilities at YPAC Foundation Pangkal Pinang, a school that provides education for children with special needs. This initiative is a form of commitment from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program in covering cooperation in the field of education at the YPAC Pangkal Pinang Foundation, where in 2023 the Mechanical Engineering Study Program at Bangka Belitung University has submitted a walking aid, but there is still much that needs to be developed from the device. The focus of this collaboration is aimed at children with disabilities, who have difficulty in mobility. Based on an evaluation by the UBB team with the General Chairperson of the YPAC Foundation, it was found that the device that we had submitted still had weaknesses in supporting walking training for children with disabilities, so that they still experienced difficulty and discomfort in experiencing walking. As a follow-up, the UBB Mechanical Engineering Team succeeded in updating a flexible walking aid that can be used by children of various ages, is safe when used and is expected to improve the mobility and quality of life of children with disabilities at the YPAC Pangkal Pinang Foundation.

Abstract

In managing household waste, KSM Srimenanti Jaya has played an active role in supporting the efforts of both the community and the government. Their main services in Kelurahan Srimenanti include waste collection, provision of plant seedlings, and processing of domestic waste. However, until now, no laboratory testing has been conducted on the compost fertilizer they produce, so the quality of the product remains uncertain. Therefore, this community service program is aimed at improving the quality of compost through fertilizer standard certification for KSM Srimenanti Jaya. Based on laboratory test results, most of the compost quality parameters have met the requirements of SNI 19-7030-2004 and are deemed marketable. Nevertheless, some aspects such as pH level, presence of foreign materials, and particle size still need to be optimized. The program also includes outreach on strategies to enhance compost quality, distribution of pocket guidebooks, and the provision of large waste shredding machines. At the conclusion of the activities, an evaluation was conducted which showed that all KSM managers felt greatly assisted and understood the material presented in the program.

Abstract

A key component to ensuring the long-term sustainability of educational institutions is efficient asset management. The recording and administration of school assets at Muhammadiyah Elementary School 8 "K.H. Mas Mansur" in Malang City remain difficult and unorganized, which can hinder the optimal use of these assets in the educational process. Through training initiatives and support for school asset inventory, this study aims to enhance asset management capabilities. Participatory techniques such as discussions, problem-solving, and case resolution are utilized. The expected outcomes of this program include the establishment of a well-documented asset inventory system, improved knowledge and skills among staff and teachers in asset management, and increased accountability and transparency in managing school property. It is hoped that by adopting a more methodical approach to asset management, the school will improve resource efficiency and promote the sustainability of education.
