Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the increasing students’ speaking ability by using simulation as project-based learning on business English course. This research used classroom action research with a combination of simulation method as project-based learning on the Business English course. The use of simulation has been implemented on the Business English course at Faculty of Economics, management study program at Kadiri Islamic University. Sixth-semester students performed presentations as simulations and practiced speaking in groups. This research was conducted in two research cycles which the average score of students' speaking performance increased significantly significant from 58.23 to 67.65. Students also have a positive perception to this method which most of students agree that simulation can provide motivation, simulation is a fun way of learning, and simulations provide learning experiences and provide more value from learning self-study. Students’ perception of project-based learning indicate that this method can improve their speaking performance. By the combination of simulation methods as project-based learning, students' speaking ability can increase.

Abstract

Hormonal contraceptives are the tools most often used, such as pills, injections and implants used by mothers. This hormonal contraceptive actually has various negative effects for its users. The side effects that are caused are indeed harmless, but later something will arise that is uncomfortable for the user. Such as menstrual cycle disturbances, fluctuating weight, nausea or vomiting, dizziness or headaches, pimples and black spots, even sexual dysfunction. These procedures affect reproductive health and well-being. The research used is to use a type of descriptive research (descriptive research), by describing the events that existed when the research took place which are natural in nature from the results of human engineering, through a quantitative approach. By showing the results of research regarding the age of respondents who use family planning aged 20 to 35 years, with a history of education at the elementary school level (SD) and an average of using family planning for a maximum of 2 to 5 years of use. Most of these women have sufficient knowledge about the use of family planning, and the side effects after using family planning in the long term. Based on the results of the research conducted, there is a conclusion which states that from the results of the researchers' calculations regarding the number of birth control users who experience amenorrhea, spotting, increased body weight, and vaginal discharge, they are still in normal numbers, with sufficient knowledge from respondents about family planning and how to use it. handle the side effects that occurred for 3 months at TPMB Siti Alfiyah..

Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Badantam Traditions in Marriage in Korong Koto Rajo Nagari Sunur Tengah, Nan Sabaris District, Padang Pariaman Regency". The purpose of this study was to find out the background to the emergence of the Badantam tradition and the function of the Badantam tradition in Korong Koto Rajo Nagari Sunur Tengah, Nan Sabaris District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The theory used in this final project is Malinowski's theory of functionalism. The method that the writer uses is a qualitative method, with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study found that the background to the emergence of the Badantam tradition was economic limitations. Due to the low economic status of the community, this led to the birth of the Badantam in the life of the Korong Koto Rajo Nagari Sunur Tengah community which aims to help with the cost of carrying out the wedding. The functions of this Badantam tradition are as follows: 1) economic function, 2) function as a gathering place, 3) function of cultural inheritance.

Abstract

This study entitled "The Tradition of Pig Hunting in Nagari Panta Pauh, Matur District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra". The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the traditional pig hunting activities and the function of the pig hunting tradition for the community in Nagari Panta Pauh, Matur District, Agam Regency. The theory used in this thesis is the functionalism theory of Bronislaw Malinowski. The method that the author uses is a qualitative method, with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews and documentation.The results of the study found that there were two stages in carrying out pig hunting, namely preparation before hunting and carrying out pig hunting. In hunting activities there are functions for the community that we can see, these functions are as follows: a) Environment, the tradition of hunting pigs in Nagari Panta Pauh functions as wild boar pest control. b) Recreation, hunting pigs is not only a hobby for hunters, but also gives satisfaction to those who do it. c) Social, there is cooperation, gathering events and social status. d) Culture, pig hunting can be seen as a form of negotiation against customary provisions which may prohibit men from carrying out certain activities. Through pig hunting, men can find a way to participate in the activities they enjoy without violating existing customary provisions. e) Economy, hunting also has benefits for people in hunting locations, namely by encouraging economic growth through trading activities that occuraround hunting locations.

Abstract

This research was conducted to solve problems that have been faced by educators related to improving writing skills in early childhood 4-5 years at the kindergarten level. This research is expected to provide knowledge related to improving pre-writing skills with the habit of drawing done every day. This study used a qualitative approach with classroom action research methods conducted at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 1 Probolonggo in group A with a total of 18 students, consisting of 9 male students and 9 female students. Data collection techniques used are tests, observation and documentation. The result is that the habit of drawing regularly can improve the pre-writing abilities of children aged 4-5 years. Because they are used to holding drawing tools, their fine motor skills continue to be stimulated, so it really helps children to hold writing instruments well. There was a regular increase from pre-cycle to cycle II, when the pre-cycle percentage obtained was 56% then increased by 22% in the first cycle to 78%. Furthermore, in cycle II there was an increase again by 19% to 92%.

Abstract

This study discusses the tradition of moantar nasi, a procession in the baralek event at a wedding ” aims to find out how the moantar nasi procession takes place in the baralek event and also wants to know the symbolic meaning and the food and equipment brought at the time of rice moantar procession. Moantar nasi is a procession in the baralek event and also the highlight of a wadding held at the marapulai house. The research was conducted using observational data collection techniques (observation) and in-depth interviews. (in-depth interviews). Using a qualitative method with an approach that produces descriptive data.The results of this study explain the first, the form of the procession of the moantar nasi tradition which starts from the preparation stage in the form of timbang tando, preparing food, preparing tools and materials, then at the implementation stage there are monoguar activities, handing over katidiang, saying goodbye. The second explains the symbolic meaning found in food and equipment.The meaning of an odd number of foods and utensils contained in the moantar nasi tradition is basically a symbol of love and liking, as found in the moantar nasi tradition, starting from an odd number of rice, an odd number of flowers, an odd number of shawls, and an odd number of chickens. also an odd number, all of which have a meaning, namely that a husband and wife must always have a feeling of love and liking for their partner until death separates them. Moantar nasi has a goal, namely to establish intimacy.

Abstract

This study discusses the meaning of The Ritual Mamintak Ubek Padi ka Jiraik Grave in Nagari Aia Gadang, Pasaman District, West Pasaman Regency. The background of the ritual of mamintak ubek padi originates from the community's fear of a disaster. This is because Nagari Aia Gadang is prone to flooding which causes the farming community to suffer losses. The purpose of this study is to find out the history and describe the procession and the meaning contained in the ritual of mamintak ubek padi ka jiraik's grave. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. The implementation of the ritual of mamintak ubek padi ka jiraik's grave must pay attention to the following: dress modestly, purify, prepare tools. When the ritual is carried out when the rice has begun to bear fruit by the people who need ubek rice from Jiraik's grave. The two stages of ubek compounding are: the ingredients that are used to make ubek are mixed and sprinkled on the rice in the fields and fields. Mamintak ubek padi ka jiraik graves for the community has the meaning that the rice fields or fields are protected from pests and diseases of rice plants and to get blessings from God through intermediaries of ancestral spirits.

Abstract

  The problem of this research is to discuss the causes of the unmaintained Kampung Dalam Malay Palace and how the current condition of the Kampung Dalam Malay Palace in Koto Gadang Koto Anau is. This study aims to determine the existence of Kampung Dalam Malay Palace in Koto Gadang Koto Anau. The method used in this study is qualitative research, which uses data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis carried out is collecting data, reducing data, displaying data and making conclusions. The results of the research and discussion show that the Malay Palace of Kampung Dalam was not maintained because Prince Novi Almana Bagindo Yang Dipituan did not want to receive assistance from the government because he was afraid that the palace would be taken over by the government because he thought that later the people of Koto Gadang Koto Anau would not be able to use The palace is a gathering place for big events. Whereas Istano Melayu Kampung Dalam, there are many cultural and tourist attractions of prehistoric heritage that are abandoned and not maintained, and the local community also pays little attention to them due to financial constraints. Meanwhile, the palace, which is now a museum, is not well-maintained, such as buildings that are old and not cleaned, lots of moss on the walls, even the items inside the palace are not maintained, due to the relatively large cost constraints to maintain the palace. The palace of Kampung Dalam Melayu which is now actually being rebuilt and not the old palace, because the original palace has been abandoned, the current palace building has not been completed, it can be seen from the condition of the palace.

Abstract

The research entitled ”The tradition of Maantaan Nasi Jujuang at the wedding ceremony in jorong Tanjuang Balik Nagari Salimpek, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency ainms to describe the form of the procession maantaan nasi jujuang and the symbolic meaning contained in the juadah (delivery) in the procession maantan nasi jujuang at a wedding ceremony the theory used in this research is symbolic interpretive the theory by Clifford Geertz on Dolgin et al. The method that the author uses is a qualitative method with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study found that the wedding ceremony was carried out with the stages of the wedding procession, namely maresek, mancaliak jerek (membuat kesepakatan), maantaan siriah, manduduak mamak, batak tando (batimbang tando), manjapuik marapulai,baralek dan maantaan anak. The  maantaan nasi jujuang  procession is a form of hospitality from the anak daro and family to the marapulai family with the aim of strengthening the relationship between the two parties. The procession has three stages, namely the tangah jalan field (arakan),the tangah countryard field (speech), the tangah field of the house (eating together). In addition, there meaning in the juadah (delivery) a dulang siriah , the kamaloyang , pinyaram ,  ampiang ,   buah kubang (godok-godok)  , barek nan sasukek ,  nasi kunik , paruik-paruik ayam.

Abstract

Thesis entidled " Tradisi Baundi di Nagari Pandai Sikek Kecamatan X Koto Provinsi Sumatera Barat". Purpose this study is for describe the form of implementation baundi tradition and function from baundi Nagari Pandai Sikek Kecamatan X Koto Provinsi Sumatera Barat. The theory used in this thesis is Radcliffe Brown's structural functionalism. The method that the author uses is a qualitative method, with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews and documentation. Study result found that there are three stages in implementation baundi tradition is negotiating preparations (barundiang), said yes (mampaiyoan), and (mampamanggia). Implementation started from wich offering (pasambahan), baundi and last wich eating together. Next last stage also there are part function from implementation baundi tradition this is function from baundi this tradition is 1). kinship function, 2). family function, 3). education function, 4). cultural preservation function.
