Abstract

The demand for Tilapia fish is not determined only by food needs. Consumers also consider price, fish freshness quality, household income, family size, market access, and consumption habits. This study aimed to analyze consumer characteristics and the factors affecting the demand for Tilapia fish at Tanjung Market, Tabalong Regency. This topic is important because Tanjung Market is a center of food trade and Tilapia fish is a widely consumed source of animal protein among households. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach supported by multiple linear regression analysis. A total of 96 consumers were selected through accidental sampling based on age, willingness to be interviewed, and the purchase of Tilapia fish during the study period. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research variables included fish price, fish quality as a dummy variable, consumer income, family size, and the quantity of Tilapia fish demanded. The results showed that respondents were dominated by bachelor’s degree graduates at 30.2%, employees at 24.0%, residents of Belimbing at 27.1%, and married respondents at 55.2%. All respondents stated that psychographic aspects, income effects, market access, and proximity to the market influenced purchasing decisions. The regression model fulfilled the classical assumptions, with a normality significance value of 0.058, no multicollinearity, a Durbin-Watson value of 2.091, and no heteroscedasticity. The R Square value of 0.538 indicated that the model explained 53.8% of the variation in Tilapia fish demand. The F-test produced an F-value of 26.469 with a significance level of <0.001. Partially, only price had a negative and significant effect on Tilapia fish demand, with a coefficient of -0.000045, a t-value of -10.189, and a significance level of <0.001. Fish quality as a dummy variable, income, and family size did not have significant partial effects. Consumers at Tanjung Market were highly price-sensitive in determining the quantity of Tilapia fish purchased.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of various drying methods on patchouli oil yield and patchouli content. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, namely P₀ = without drying (control), P₁ = drying under direct sunlight, P₂ = drying using a paranet, and P₃ = drying using a tarpaulin. The parameters observed included patchouli oil yield and patchouli content. The results showed that the drying method significantly affected patchouli oil yield and patchouli content. The highest oil yield was obtained in the P₂ treatment (drying using a paranet) with an average of 2.61%, while the lowest yield was obtained in the P₀ treatment (without drying) at 1.82%. The highest patchouli content was also found in the P₂ and P₃ treatments at 30%, while the lowest was found in the P₀ treatment at 25%. Thus, the drying method using paranet is the best treatment in increasing patchouli oil yield and patchouli content.

Abstract

Differences in the Human Development Index (HDI) and smoking rates across provinces in Indonesia indicate variations in social conditions that need to be systematically analyzed. This study aims to implement an interactive dashboard to cluster provinces based on their HDI and smoking rates for the year 2024 using the K-Means algorithm, and to validate the clustering results using K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). The research data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Regional Management Information System (SIMREG-Bappenas) and processed using RapidMiner Studio. The research stages included data cleaning, normalization using Z-transformation, clustering with K-Means into three clusters, validation using KNN via cross-validation, and the implementation of a Streamlit-based dashboard. The results show that provinces in Indonesia can be grouped into three clusters with distinct characteristics based on HDI values and smoking rates. The developed dashboard presents the analysis results in the form of tables, graphs, and interactive maps, thereby facilitating data interpretation and supporting data-driven decision-making. Validation results indicate that the clustering model exhibits a high level of consistency, making it suitable as a basis for formulating policy recommendations regarding regional development and public health.

Abstract

Green Campus initiatives emphasize sustainable waste-management practices as an important component of institutional sustainability. Black Soldier Fly (BSF; Hermetia illucens) bioconversion has emerged as a promising approach for converting organic waste into value-added products while reducing environmental burdens. To support sustainability education and promote awareness of BSF-based organic waste management, BIOMAGIC (Bio-Maggot Innovative Guide for Green Integrated Campus) was developed as a digital flipbook integrating concepts of organic waste management, BSF bioconversion, and Green Campus implementation. This study aimed to evaluate the educational feasibility and user acceptance of BIOMAGIC among undergraduate biology students at Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). A developmental evaluation approach was conducted during a socialization activity held in June 2026. Data were collected using Google Forms through pre-test and post-test knowledge assessments and a perception questionnaire. A total of 35 participants completed the pre-test, whereas 21 participants completed the post-test and user evaluation questionnaire. Participants demonstrated high baseline knowledge regarding BSF-based organic waste management, with mean pre-test and post-test scores of 95.10% and 95.24%, respectively. Knowledge related to BSF biological characteristics and cultivation showed higher post-test percentages, whereas sustainability-related concepts exhibited comparatively lower scores. User evaluation indicated favorable responses toward BIOMAGIC, with an overall mean perception score of 4.46 on a five-point Likert scale. Visual design received the highest ratings, while qualitative feedback highlighted accessibility, systematic content organization, and support for independent learning as major strengths. The findings support BIOMAGIC as a feasible and well-accepted digital learning resource for promoting awareness of BSF-based organic waste management and Green Campus concepts among university students.

Abstract

Delays in the loading and unloading process are one of the operational problems that can disrupt shipping schedules, increase operational costs, and reduce the quality of maritime transportation services. This study aims to analyze the factors causing delays in loading and unloading and their impact on the operational performance of KM Dharma Ferry VIII. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research population included all parties involved in loading and unloading activities and ship operations, while the sample was determined by purposive sampling consisting of the Captain, First Officer, Stevedoring Workers (TKBM), and port operational officers. The research instruments were in the form of interview guidelines, observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions with the help of NVivo 12 software. The results showed that delays in loading and unloading were caused by internal ship factors, land-side factors, and external factors such as vehicle density, passenger density, limited operational area, and weather conditions. These delays resulted in disruptions to shipping schedules, increased operational costs, and decreased service quality. The research conclusion shows that improving coordination between parties, optimizing vehicle arrangements, utilizing digital systems, and conducting regular operational evaluations are effective strategies for reducing loading and unloading delays and improving ship operational performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of economic space characteristics on the dynamics of MSMEs through consumer behavior in the Sampit urban area. The background of the study is based on the development of MSMEs which is not always followed by equal business success, even though business actors are in relatively similar economic spaces. The study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Primary data were obtained through questionnaires to 65 MSME actors in the trade and service sectors selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS 4. The results showed that economic space characteristics have a positive and significant effect on consumer behavior (path coefficient = 0.723; p-value = 0.000), economic space characteristics have a positive and significant effect on MSME dynamics (path coefficient = 0.479; p-value = 0.001), and consumer behavior has a positive and significant effect on MSME dynamics (path coefficient = 0.304; p-value = 0.034). However, consumer behavior was not shown to significantly mediate the relationship between economic space characteristics and MSME dynamics (indirect effect = 0.219; p-value = 0.064). This finding confirms that MSME dynamics in the Sampit urban area are more dominantly influenced directly by the structure of economic space rather than through consumer behavior mechanisms. This study contributes to the development of an integrative model of economic space and consumer behavior in explaining urban MSME dynamics.

Abstract

The rapid development of Financial Technology (Fintech) has transformed the financial system by enabling faster, more efficient, and transparent digital transactions. At the same time, this development has created legal challenges related to regulatory certainty, personal data protection, and supervision of digital transactions that may facilitate corruption. This study aims to analyze the legal framework governing Financial Technology in supporting digital transaction transparency and to examine the role of fintech in strengthening digital transaction transparency as a preventive measure against corruption in Indonesia. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, and analytical approaches. The legal materials consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources analyzed through qualitative legal analysis. The findings indicate that Indonesia has established a relatively comprehensive legal framework through Law Number 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector, Law Number 1 of 2024 on Electronic Information and Transactions, Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection, as well as regulations issued by Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority. Fintech implementation generates a digital audit trail that enhances transparency, accountability, and supervisory effectiveness in financial transactions. Based on the Theory of Legal Certainty, Legal System Theory, and Good Governance Theory, fintech serves as an important instrument in promoting transparent, accountable, and integrity-based financial governance, thereby strengthening corruption prevention efforts. Nevertheless, continuous regulatory harmonization, stronger inter-agency coordination, improved cybersecurity, and enhanced digital literacy remain essential to optimize fintech implementation.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the rapid development of information technology, which has encouraged libraries to provide digital information services that are fast, easily accessible, and capable of meeting users' information needs. The success of digital information services is determined not only by the availability of technology and the completeness of information but also by users' experiences (User Experience [UX]) when interacting with the system. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of User Experience (UX) on digital information services at the Library of Universitas Negeri Padang. This study employed a quantitative method using descriptive and verification approaches. The study population consisted of all users of the digital information services at the Library of Universitas Negeri Padang, totaling 5,824 users. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error, resulting in 98 respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The User Experience (UX) variable was measured using five indicators: ease of use, ease of access, interface clarity, information quality, and user comfort. Meanwhile, digital information services were measured through service reliability, access speed, information accuracy and completeness, ease of obtaining information, and user satisfaction. The findings indicate that User Experience (UX) has a positive and significant effect on digital information services at the Library of Universitas Negeri Padang. The better the users' experience, the higher the perceived quality of digital information services. These findings suggest that ease of use, accessibility, interface clarity, information quality, and user comfort should become primary considerations in the development of library digital information services. This study is expected to serve as an evaluation reference for library managers in improving digital-based services that are more effective, efficient, and user-oriented.
