Abstract

SMK St. Willibrodus Betun is actively pursuing various educational projects in the field of teacher accreditation. Due to a lack of creativity and innovation in teaching strategies, students are less motivated to learn. The aim of this research is to facilitate academic progress among Grade 11 students at a faster pace. The above objectives will be achieved through the use of the Learning Discovery Model which is available for students of class XI AK.1 for the 2022-2023 academic year at SMK St. Willibrodus Betun. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on student learning outcomes and skills. This study used a sample of 22 students of class XI Ak. 1. The results showed that the average score of students who were classified as "Good" in Cycle II increased from 74.54 in Cycle I to 80.45, and student achievement in Cycle II increased from 72.73% to 86.36% . Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning Model has the potential to improve academic achievement of students in Accounting class XI Ak. 1 at SMK St. Willibrordus Betun. This research focuses on the utilization of the Discovery Learning model as a means of increasing academic achievement in the context of Accounting education. Keywords of interest include Accounting education, academic achievement, and the Discovery Learning model.

Abstract

Poetry is one of the literary genres written in a beautiful and rhythmic language, using words full of meaning and emotions. The purpose of this research is to analyze Taufiq Ismail's poem "Silhuet" using a structural approach, as poetry has a dominant aesthetic function and carries beautiful meanings. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a structural approach and data collection techniques such as reading and note-taking. The results of this research are the overall physical and inner structures in Taufiq Ismail's poem "Silhuet." The physical structure analyzed includes the form of the poem, diction, concrete words, language style, and imagery, while the inner structure analyzed includes the theme, tone, mood, and message.

Abstract

A conflict is an argument or disagreement between two or more people. Political conflicts arose from the existence of political power. The essence of political power is society as an object. Conflict is part of social life and arises from personality differences arising from human interactions. The social conflict in this (Asma Nadia - true story) short story "cinta lelakibiasa" refers to external conflicts, especially social conflicts. This conflict initially arises due to the social status and social class conflict between the wealthy Nania and the poor Lafri. Nania's parents do not bless Rafli to live with Nania because because of this status Nania and Rafli's love becomes an obstacle. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of scavengers towards formal 12-year compulsory education. This case study is at the Lubuk Minturun TPA. This research belongs to the type of qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. As well as data processing using the stages of problem formulation, data collection, data analysis, and report writing. The results of this study indicate that the Lubuk Minturun TPA scavenger community has a negative perception of the 12-year compulsory formal education. It has been found through the results of research that many scavengers do not send their children to school because there is no money. They prefer their children to work to make money. The obstacle faced by scavengers is limited income, which makes it difficult to support education for their children who are 12 years of school.

Abstract

Besides being rich in natural resources, Indonesia is also rich in musical diversity, such as traditional music that is unique to Indonesia, namely tambourine, salung, angklung, gamelan and so on. In addition to traditional music, there is also international music, namely pop, jazz, rock and so on. The single organ or keyboard at the present time is already popular in society, so there are many enthusiasts and it is widely used in many areas in West Sumatra, especially in Nagari Lubuk Alung. In accordance with Padang Pariaman Regent Regulation (Perbup) Number 13 of 2016 concerning Management of Single Organs, this is a form of policy that regulates solo organ performances so that they do not conflict with general values and norms. This type of research is semi-qualitative research. This type of research is a descriptive approach. The descriptive method is finding facts with the correct interpretation. Descriptive study of the problems and procedures of society that are applied in society and in certain situations, including human relations, actions, attitudes, perspectives and processes that take place and the consequences of phenomena. The location of the research was in Nagari Lubuk Alung, Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews and observations.

Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in agricultural education in developing countries has become very important in improving the quality and productivity of agriculture, as well as addressing the problems faced by farmers in developing countries. The aim of this research is to describe the experience of using ICT in agricultural education in developing countries, as well as to identify the advantages and disadvantages of using ICT. The method used in this study is a literature review by collecting data from various sources such as articles, books, and research reports. The results of the study show that the use of ICT in agricultural education in developing countries has been done in various ways, such as the development of agricultural applications, distance learning, and the use of simulation software. Although there are some obstacles such as limited access and dependence on technology, the use of ICT in agricultural education in developing countries can provide advantages in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of learning, as well as expanding social networks and collaboration among students. However, to optimize the advantages and overcome the limitations of using ICT in agricultural education in developing countries, cooperation between the government, educational institutions, and technology industry is needed in building adequate ICT infrastructure, providing affordable ICT access, as well as providing training and technical support for ICT users in agricultural education.

Abstract

Local wisdom is a way of life, or it can be interpreted as a culture, which is inherent and developing in the local community and can be passed down from generation to generation in the form of an activity. The Hoyak Tabuik tradition is a ceremony to commemorate the death of Saidina Imam Husein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (Saidina Imam Husein), and is carried out by the Pariaman people every 10th of the Hijri calendar by turning Tabuik into a human head and the carcass of a 'Buraq bird'. This study aims to find out the description of the hoyak tabuik tradition and find the cultural and religious values ​​that are transmitted in the hoyak tabuik traditions and rituals. In this study, researchers used a qualitative description method. And the interview method has been used to access various sources when collecting research data. The results of this study explain how the hoyak tabuik tradition exists in the city of Pariaman and the cultural values ​​that we can take from this tradition, namely the values ​​of friendship and mutual cooperation, as well as religious values, namely the expression of gratitude.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of storytelling on students' speaking skills. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive, with the object of a teacher and students of class X MA Assalam Senior High School. The Instruments of this study are observation and interview. The researcher used observation and interviews with the teacher to collect the data to answer the first research questions. The researcher also interviewed the teacher to get additional information. Then, the researcher conducted the interview with five students to answer the second research question. The findings of the observations and interviews are almost the same as the step in Jianing's methods, such as choosing the content, separating students into various groups, evaluating the student's performance, and delivering them some feedback at the end of the meeting. The teacher explained that applying storytelling technique in teaching speaking makes students more interested in learning English because they learn about descriptive text. Moreover, the storytelling technique is positively received by most students. The interview with five students showed that students actively participated during teaching activities. It could be concluded that storytelling techniques improved students' vocabulary, confidence, and enjoyment of studying English.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe how the acculturation of Minangkabau culture influences Chinese ethnicity. Cultural acculturation can occur in all levels of society thanks to intercultural communication in society. This research was conducted in Padang City, Pondok Pondok Village, West Padang District. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, which describes research based on a description of the actual situation. Informants were determined using a "purposive sampling technique". In data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the influence of acculturation of Minangkabau culture on Chinese ethnicity can be demonstrated in ethnic Chinese marriages in Padang City by the practice of throwing turmeric rice. Then the ethnic Chinese of the city of Padang also adhere to the Minangkabau philosophy, namely "Dima Bumi Stepped on, Disina Langik Dijjuang" which means they must be able to adapt to their environment, and the bulek philosophy aia dek pambuluah bulek kato deck mufakat means deliberation and consensus.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which learning activities using audio-visual media increased interest in learning social studies. Local facts show that when learning social studies, students are more concerned with themselves, do not pay attention to the teacher and are indifferent to other friends. This shows that students' interest in IPS is still low. Audio-visual media is expected to increase interest in learning Social Sciences because the application of audio-visual media can increase. So that the character of students can change habits and care for the environment. The research method uses quantitative research methods, which are carried out by looking for material in written form. The purpose of this research is to increase interest in learning social studies through audiovisual media. The results of this study indicate that the use of audiovisual media is very important to increase elementary school students' interest in social studies learning.
