Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in improving students’ skills at SMK Negeri 1 Tangerang. This approach is considered relevant for vocational education as it seeks to produce graduates with strong practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and high workplace readiness. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the application of PjBL significantly fosters active student participation, enhances creativity, and strengthens collaboration in completing project-based tasks. Furthermore, PjBL supports students in mastering vocational competencies more effectively, as they are directly involved in the planning, execution, and evaluation of the project. However, several challenges were identified, including limited facilities, relatively short instructional time, and variations in students’ abilities that influence the overall effectiveness of the learning process. Overall, the implementation of PjBL proves to be an effective instructional strategy in enhancing students’ skills at SMK Negeri 1 Tangerang.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the process of internalizing Islamic educational values in the Cecah Inai tradition among the Malay community in Bunguran Timur District, Natuna Regency. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving traditional leaders, Mak Inang (female ceremonial leaders), and local cultural officers. The findings showed that the Cecah Inai tradition was not merely a cultural ceremony within the Malay wedding sequence but also functioned as a medium for imparting Islamic values that became internalized in the community’s social life. The values that emerged in this tradition included aqidah values (faith and monotheism toward Allah), shari’ah values (obedience to laws and social etiquette), and akhlaq values (courtesy, patience, and moral responsibility). The Cecah Inai procession demonstrated a harmonious integration between customary practices and Islamic teachings, which characterized the culture of the Natuna Malay community. This study affirmed that local traditions played an important role as a non-formal educational medium in shaping character and strengthening the community’s Islamic identity.

Abstract

This study examined the tradition of infak (almsgiving) from a sociological perspective, analyzing the influence of social norms, cultural values, and social structures that shape its practice within Muslim communities. Infak was understood not only as a religious obligation but also as a social phenomenon that reflected collective moral responsibility, solidarity, and the distribution of welfare in society. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study analyzed textual sources, religious teachings, and sociological concepts to understand how the tradition of infak had been formed, maintained, and practiced over time. The findings indicated that social norms rooted in religious teachings strongly encouraged individuals to give infak as a moral duty, creating shared expectations for community members to contribute to social welfare. Cultural values emphasizing compassion, generosity, and mutual assistance further strengthened the continuity of this tradition. The study also revealed that infak played a significant role in reducing social inequality by supporting individuals and groups in vulnerable economic conditions. In addition, infak fostered social cohesion through interactions between donors and recipients, strengthening trust and communal ties. Despite its positive impact, challenges such as limited awareness, inconsistent participation, and economic constraints hindered its optimal implementation. Overall, this study concluded that the tradition of infak was a complex sociological phenomenon that contributed to reinforcing solidarity, justice, and social welfare. Therefore, continuous efforts were needed to promote and institutionalize infak practices to maximize their benefits for society.

Abstract

Students’ motivation plays a crucial role in determining the success of English language learning outcomes. Motivation influences students’ engagement, persistence, and attitudes toward learning activities, which ultimately affect their academic achievement. This study aims to examine the impact of students’ motivation on English language learning outcomes. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through motivation questionnaires and English achievement tests administered to students at the secondary education level. The data were analyzed using statistical techniques to identify the relationship between motivational factors and learning outcomes. The findings reveal that students with higher levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation tend to demonstrate better performance in English language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The results also indicate that motivation significantly contributes to students’ willingness to participate actively in learning processes and to overcome learning difficulties. Therefore, enhancing students’ motivation should be a key focus for educators in designing effective English language instruction to improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between national defense capability, defense economics, and economic stability in Indonesia’s development context. Defense and economic development are closely linked and essential for maintaining national sovereignty and prosperity, particularly amid globalization and complex geopolitical dynamics. Using a literature review and meta-analysis, the study examines how defense capability and defense economics interact to influence economic stability and growth. The findings indicate that stronger defense capability supports the defense economy, which in turn contributes to overall economic stability. However, this relationship is not linear and depends on factors such as government policy, R&D investment, domestic industrial capacity, and geopolitical conditions. Technological innovation and defense industry development are also identified as key drivers of growth and resilience to external shocks. The study provides insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders to strengthen synergy between defense and national economic development.

Abstract

In the contemporary global context, societies increasingly face complex social conflicts driven by identity politics, ideological polarization, and socio-economic disparities. Youth organizations have emerged as important actors in promoting social cohesion, dialogue, and conflict resolution. This study examines the role of youth organizations as catalysts for conflict resolution by drawing insights from the historical legacy of the Youth Pledge (Sumpah Pemuda) of 1928. The research aims to analyze how youth-led collaboration contributed to national unity and how the values embedded in the Youth Pledge remain relevant for addressing contemporary social conflicts. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) combined with a simplified qualitative meta-analytic synthesis to examine scholarly literature related to youth movements, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding. The literature was collected from major academic databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus-indexed journals, and Web of Science, focusing primarily on studies published within the last five years. The findings indicate that youth organizations historically played a critical role in fostering unity through cross-regional collaboration and collective identity formation, which culminated in the declaration of the Youth Pledge. The study also identifies key values (unity in diversity, collective identity, national solidarity, and collaborative leadership) as relevant frameworks for modern conflict resolution. In contemporary contexts, youth organizations contribute to peacebuilding through community dialogue, tolerance campaigns, and grassroots mobilization for social harmony.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) program management in improving student competence within the context of higher education. RPL is an innovative approach that acknowledges learners’ prior knowledge, skills, and experiences obtained through formal, non-formal, and informal learning. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, utilizing data collected through literature review and document analysis. The findings indicate that effective RPL program management significantly contributes to enhancing student competence by accelerating learning pathways, increasing learning motivation, and ensuring the relevance of education to labor market needs. Key factors influencing the success of RPL implementation include institutional commitment, clear assessment standards, qualified assessors, and adequate administrative systems. However, challenges remain, such as limited awareness, inconsistent implementation, and lack of standardized procedures across institutions. Therefore, strengthening management strategies, improving regulatory frameworks, and enhancing institutional capacity are essential to optimize the effectiveness of RPL programs in improving student competence and supporting lifelong learning.
