Abstract

The use of the AFIYO Library Instagram feed as a medium for plagiarism education is the focus of this study, with the aim of exploring the perceptions and impact of library users on plagiarism education content. With the increasing number of plagiarism cases in academic environments, this study aims to assess the effectiveness of the visual design of the Instagram feed in conveying messages about writing ethics. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews with seven active library users at the AFIYO Library, while secondary data was obtained from literature reviews related to information literacy and social media content design. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify patterns of perception and attitude changes. The main results indicate that the combination of neutral gray colors, Montserrat and Agrandir typography, minimalist illustrations, and consistent layout makes plagiarism education content easy to understand and attention-grabbing. Most informants stated that the concise presentation and harmonious visuals made it easier for them to understand the types of plagiarism and the importance of citations. A total of 87.5% of respondents reported an increase in ethical awareness, and 37.5% actively shared the content with their peers. Discussions revealed that the credibility of the library account strengthened user trust, making educational messages easier to absorb and internalize. The summary of findings emphasizes that the use of the AFIYO Library's Instagram feed significantly contributes to improving plagiarism literacy among students. The implications of this study include recommendations for academic libraries to optimize social media as an educational tool, as well as suggestions for further research on comparing the effectiveness of other platforms and evaluating the long-term impact of digital education campaigns.

Abstract

School libraries are key elements in supporting literacy and education ecosystems, but their success depends on the dynamics of librarian motivation, operational barriers, and strategic solutions. This study aims to identify librarian motivation factors, analyze operational challenges, and formulate strategic solutions at the SMP Negeri 12 Bandung Library. A qualitative approach was used by collecting data through in-depth interviews with the head of the library and physical observation of library activities and facilities on March 12, 2025. The results showed that librarian motivation was driven by consistent A accreditation status and collaboration with student interns, although hampered by minimal professional training. Operational challenges include low student reading interest (only 30% visit regularly), collections dominated by textbooks (60%), and limited infrastructure, such as a 60 m² space for 5,000 books. Strategic solutions such as creative literacy programs in the form of book trailer competitions, collaboration with publishers, and space revitalization plans increased collection interaction by 15% and service awareness by 20%. In conclusion, the adoption of technologies such as e-libraries and digital literacy training can make school libraries dynamic learning centers, addressing operational limitations and student needs in the digital era.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the information needs of law students in learning processes, focusing on identifying characteristics of information needs, types of required information sources, information seeking behavior patterns, and encountered obstacles. Using qualitative research methods through direct interviews with 20 law faculty students of Lancang Kuning University, semesters 2, 4, and 6, which were conducted in June 2025. The findings reveal that law students have multidimensional information needs encompassing academic aspects for coursework, contextual needs for current legal issues, and practical requirements for extracurricular activities. Students employ a hierarchical search strategy starting from internal campus sources then expanding to external sources, utilizing both traditional and digital media combinations. The research demonstrates that law students' information seeking behavior has adapted to technological developments, yet still faces significant challenges in understanding legal terminology, accessing quality sources, and information validation. The study provides valuable insights for educational institutions to design appropriate library services and information infrastructure, enhances student awareness of information literacy importance, and offers input for educational technology developers to create more user-friendly and comprehensive legal learning platforms. Recommendations include developing integrated information literacy programs in curriculum, improving access to legal databases and electronic journals, and establishing strategic collaborations between institutions, libraries, and technology providers to create optimal information ecosystems supporting academic needs.

Abstract

User education refers to the dissemination of knowledge carried out by libraries to their users. This knowledge includes how to develop skills in utilizing library facilities, how to use available services, and other relevant information that can assist users during their visit to the library. This study aims to suggest effective methods for librarians and library staff to disseminate user education information so that it can be directly implemented. Additionally, the study describes how users obtain information related to user education in order to identify their information-seeking behavior. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through interviews with librarians, library staff, and visitors, as well as observations at Perpustakaan Kota Bogor. The results of this study indicate that user information-seeking behavior is passive and dependent on officers, even though information related to user education is available. The irregularity of information and weak direction make it difficult for users to navigate services independently. Therefore, a more comprehensive and sustainable education strategy is needed so that users can search for information more optimally

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategy for developing children's literacy through the Getuk Golan program (Gerakan Bertutur, Games, Outbound, dan Literasi Anak), initiated by the Library and Archives Office of Ponorogo Regency as an effort to address the low reading interest index among children. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The findings reveal that Getuk Golan is a community-based literacy innovation that integrates storytelling, educational games, outbound activities, and parental involvement in a fun and participatory learning atmosphere. The program not only improves reading and writing skills but also develops children's socio-emotional and cultural literacy through direct interaction in public spaces. The uniqueness of the program lies in its holistic approach that combines cognitive, affective, social, and cultural dimensions in an integrated manner, which differs from previous studies focusing only on a single method. This study concludes by recommending the replication of the Getuk Golan program in other regions as a strategic model for strengthening community-based children's literacy culture. Abstract

This study examines the utilization of the knowledge retention repository in fulfilling the information needs of midwifery students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya. Higher education libraries have shifted their role not only as providers of book collections but also as centers of knowledge management that support academic, research, and professional practice activities. For midwifery students, access to accurate, up-to-date, and relevant information is crucial to support both theoretical learning and clinical practice. The purpose of this research was to describe the extent of repository utilization, analyze the information needs that can be met through repository services, and identify its contribution to academic information services. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a sample of 100 midwifery students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire developed based on indicators of information needs and repository utilization, then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings show that the repository is effective in providing relevant and well-organized collections, with indicators of collection availability, knowledge management, and accessibility rated high. However, challenges remain in terms of long-term storage sustainability and speed of access, which received lower scores compared to other indicators. Overall, the repository significantly supports students’ academic information needs, enhances learning effectiveness, and promotes systematic knowledge dissemination. It is concluded that strengthening digital infrastructure, improving long-term preservation policies, and optimizing system access are necessary to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of repository utilization for midwifery education.
