Abstract

This article analyzes the factors that impact allowance for impairment losses on banks in Indonesia, after the implementation of Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (IFAS) 71. IFAS 71 became effective in 2020, replacing IFAS 55. IFAS 71 introduced several new methods for calculating the allowance for impairment losses. We collected data from conventional banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2016—2020. We created two models: the first will test the impact of several key factors like loans provided by banks, non-performing loans, and interest income towards allowance for impairment losses, while the second will test IFAS 71 implementation for these factors towards allowance for impairment losses. Out of these three factors, we concluded loans provided by banks hurt impairment loss allowance while the other two have a positive effect, regardless of IFAS 71 implementation. However, while this allowance is found to be higher after IFAS 71, the three key factors do not have a significantly stronger effect after IFAS 71 implementation

Abstract

The effectiveness of zakat services is an achievement of every series of service activities provided by the National Amil Zakat Agency in providing integrated zakat management actions in several service programs, one of which is in increasing economic independence in the community, especially in people who receive/use this zakat service, which in general is still far from being economically independent, so that the achievement of the program, of course, will increase economic independence and have an impact on the welfare of the community itself. In this study, an explanatory research method was used with a quantitative approach and 103 respondents were taken. The data processing and distribution in this study were analyzed using path analysis with the AMOS/Structural Equation Model (SEM) V.22 program. The results showed that the effectiveness of zakat services could increase the level of economic independence positively and significantly in children (cr=4.561:p = 0.048).

Abstract

Impulsive buying has been vigorously studied from different perspectives. In the science of Consumer Behavior, impulsive buying depicts a consumer’s buying decision which is spontaneous and quick, quite often without the presence of any cognitive activity. Prior studies often observed how this impulsive buying is being influenced by consumer’s emotions, but only a few studies observe how Integral Emotions and Incidental Emotions influence the collective decision of impulsive buying and its emotional impact. Involving 100 respondents with prior experiences of impulsive buying, the data would then be analyzed using the Partial Leas Square-SEM after considering the ability of this statistical model to analyze data below 500 respondents. Results showed that there is a significant negative relationship between Incidental Emotion the impulsive buying, but a negative influence towards Integral Emotion on the impulsive buying decision. Besides that, there is a significant positive influence of impulsive buying towards the emotion afterwards.

The significant level of engagement is the key for students to keep up with grammar lesson and then gain better comprehension of the lesson. The research uses descriptive - qualitative method. The research applies focus group discussion, in-depth interview, observation techniques and document analysis. To broaden understanding about the level of engagement, the research explores the students’ experiences in learning grammar using Nearpod. The research then analyzes the data from techniques to identify the pattern, trend, theme and meaning. The result of the research shows that the use of Nearpod in Grammar Lesson has significant impact in increasing students’ engagement. This finding implies the important of integrating subjects with digital platforms to create collaborative and interactive environment of learning

Abstract

Human resource development (HR) is one of the development priorities in Indonesia, including human resources in the public sector. Bureaucratic simplification is one of the efforts to reform the bureaucracy to improve the quality of performance, which has an impact on the equalization of echelon 3, echelon 4, and echelon 5 positions into functional positions. Strengthening functional positions in government agencies is also one of the steps to improve the professionalism of Civil Servants (PNS). This research is a descriptive qualitative research, which collects data through literature studies, observations, and interviews. The result of this study is that there are several challenges faced after the issuance of PANRB Ministerial Regulation Number 1 of 2023. The first is that by determining credit scores and drafting performance contracts only involving functional officials with their direct superiors, it is necessary to pay attention to how these two parties can ensure that functional officials have performance targets by their scope. Second, from the side of the functional position coaching agency, it has the task of monitoring and evaluating the agency that uses its functional position. The challenge is that there is no clear mechanism for following up on the results of the monitoring and evaluation. Then the third is how training can be used by coaching agencies to overcome the competency or knowledge gap that occurs.

Abstract

Currently, there is a lack of comprehensive guidelines for child-friendly architecture that serve as a cohesive framework for designing spaces for children. Yet, architecture for children should be given greater priority to ensure adequate educational facilities for the next generation. Creativity is paramount in the development of fine and gross motor skills in children. In the related case study of Fuji Kindergarten, technical requirements related to the physical and motor development of children have been well addressed through the implementation of exceptionally designed spaces. Thus, the aspects implemented by Fuji Kindergarten in its design can serve as exemplary design principles. The method employed revolves around Sarah Scott's theory of architecture for children, which will be mapped onto the design features used by Tezuka Architect as the designer of Fuji Kindergarten. This will be further compared with the Farming Kindergarten in Vietnam, which also receives recognition in the category of children's architecture. This paper aims to raise awareness of the importance of architecture for children, serving as a formulation of concerns that may eventually lead to solutions for the issues in designing architectural spaces for children. Additionally, it serves as a comprehensive insight into designing children's architecture, particularly kindergarten spaces, drawing from the best practices in children's architecture typologies.

Abstract

The development of community development science has been studied by Western countries since 1925, with a focus on social development and community welfare. In 1995, Indonesia underwent a knowledge transformation by introducing the applied science of Islamic Community Development, which combines social science and Islamic values. The Islamic Community Development program has been popular in Indonesia until 2023 but remains unknown internationally. The aim of this research is to analyze the perception of the program and the implementation of Islamic community development theories on society as the focal point of community development studies in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative analysis with a phenomenological approach and a holistic perspective. Data collection was conducted through focus group discussions, observations, interviews, and document studies. The results of this research analyze that: (1) The perception of the Islamic community development program, in terms of concepts, scope, and goals, still varies among individuals, thus requiring a comprehensive concept to align perceptions regarding the Islamic community development program.

Abstract

Blind people who are included in the category of people with disabilities experience impairments and obstacles to their sense of sight. To be able to do orientation and mobility, blind people need information about environmental concepts and self-concepts. This of course requires training that is rehabilitative in nature. Sentra Wyata Guna Bandung is a building that functions as a rehabilitation and training center for blind people so that they can play an active role in community life. But in reality, the design of Sentra Wyata Guna has problems in terms of comfort and safety for blind people to do activities in it. This can hinder the rehabilitation and training process in it. This research aims to understand the behavior and needs of blind people for orientation and mobility with the concept of behavioral architecture; and find how the physical environment can stimulate the non-visual senses of blind people. This concept will be divided into five architectural design criteria based on behavioral setting theory. The study started with a literature review on the needs of blind people and behavioral concepts specific to blind people. Field data analysis detected the problems and potential of the Sentra Wyata Guna building.
