Abstract

Law No. 6 of 2023 on Job Creation aims to encourage economic growth in Indonesia, but it also brings significant changes to labor regulations, including the expansion of the reasons for Termination of Employment. This research aims to analyze legal protection for workers who are laid off not in accordance with the provisions of the law. In addition, this study seeks to understand the challenges of protecting workers' rights in the midst of increasingly complex labor dynamics. The approach used is a normative approach, analyzing various related regulations, especially the Job Creation Law and the Employment Law. This study also examines the theory of legal certainty, justice, and legal protection as an analytical framework. Using a case study approach, this study analyzes the case of unilateral termination of employment at PT BFI Finance as a concrete example to assess the application of legal provisions in practice. The research method used is normative legal research with secondary data, including primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The results of the study show that the Job Creation Law provides a clearer legal framework regarding the layoff procedure and legitimate reasons. However, there are challenges in the implementation and enforcement of the law that need to be overcome, considering that there is still a gap between legal provisions and practices in the field that can be detrimental to workers' rights. The research recommendations include the need for more intensive socialization to workers and employers about the new provisions, as well as consistent law enforcement to protect workers' rights.

Abstract

The ongoing humanitarian crisis faced by Rohingya refugees has drawn significant attention across Southeast Asia, particularly regarding Indonesia’s response under the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Blueprint. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's implementation of APSC policies in handling Rohingya refugees in Aceh, focusing on the balance between community security and humanitarian obligations. Using a qualitative approach, this research employs a case study method, analyzing data from policy reports, official documents, and community feedback. The findings indicate that while Indonesia has made efforts to assist refugees, challenges persist due to limited legal frameworks and mixed local reception. The study reveals that community security concerns, alongside the lack of comprehensive refugee policies, have led to social tensions in Aceh, impacting both the refugee population and the host community. The research concludes that to enhance the effectiveness of APSC policies, Indonesia must foster greater community engagement and optimize resource allocation, thus promoting a more stable environment for both refugees and local residents.

Abstract

A film is a collection of many images combined into a single whole, consisting of audio and visual components. Movies also often serve as a mirror of social reality. One of the Indonesian films that reflects social reality is the film "Noktah Merah Perkawinan" which tells the story of conflicts and dynamics in domestic life, as well as depicting various social and cultural issues that are relevant to Indonesian society. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze how family dysfunction is represented in the movie "Noktah Merah Perkakahan" and how this can affect people's perception of family problems. Using a descriptive qualitative research method with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis by identifying several scenes that describe the characteristics of being in a dysfunctional family proposed by a psychotherapist named Dr. Rashmi Prakash in Fistory Parenting, including lack of communication, lack of empathy, mental problems, excessive behavior control, lack of emotional support and violence. The findings emphasize the depiction of gender inequality as a major contributing factor to dysfunction, revealing that children are deeply impacted by such dynamics. This research enriches the understanding of media's role in portraying family dysfunction and aims to offer insights into addressing such issues effectively in real family settings.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of organizational climate on organizational commitment. The research method used is quantitative with a causality research design. The data collection technique uses saturated samples, where the entire population is sampled. The population in this study were 110 members of the Karawang Regency Regional Executive Board of the Indonesian Youth National Committee, consisting of 97 men and 13 women. Data were collected using the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) and the organizational climate scale constructed by the researcher. Hypothesis testing was conducted with simple regression analysis using SPSS version 25.0 for Windows 64-bit. The results showed a significance value of 0.025 (P < 0.05), which means that there is a negative effect of organizational climate on organizational commitment in members of the Karawang Regency Indonesian Youth National Committee. The coefficient of determination (R Square) value of 0.045 indicates that 4.5% of the variation in organizational commitment is explained by organizational climate. In comparison, the remaining 95.5% is influenced by other factors not included in this study.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and evaluate the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) disclosures on corporate profitability. The focus of this study is to identify how CSR and ESG practices disclosed by companies affect key profitability indicators such as Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Net Profit Margin (NPM). The object of research is companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, including IDX ESG Leaders Index (IDX ESG LID) and IDX High Dividend 20 (IDX HIDIV20) in 2020-2023; the sample is 25 companies. In this study, the analysis technique used was Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) PLS conducted using the WARP PLS (Weighted Autoregressive Distributed Lag PLS) method. The results showed that CSR disclosure has a positive and significant influence on corporate profitability, while ESG disclosure has a negative and significant influence. The study's implications suggest that CSR implementation can enhance financial performance, whereas ESG disclosure, despite offering long-term benefits, often requires significant initial investment, which can reduce short-term profitability.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of cashless payment policy on consumer behavior at Kesiangan Coffee, Batam City. With the increasing use of technology in various aspects of life, especially in the payment sector, it is important to understand how cashless policies affect consumer behavior. This study used a survey method with questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software, and it included validity, reliability, and linear regression analysis. The results showed that the R-value was 0.128 and the R Square was 0.165, indicating that only 16.5% of the variation in the cashless payment policy could be explained by consumer behavior. The validity and reliability test results show that all research instruments are valid and reliable, but the influence of consumer behavior on this policy is still relatively low. This finding suggests that other more dominant factors, such as technological infrastructure, level of security, and consumer demographics, influence the acceptance of cashless payments. Therefore, it is recommended that relevant parties, such as financial institutions and the government, focus on education and infrastructure development to increase the acceptance of this payment system among the public. Further research is needed to explore other factors that play a role in influencing cashless payment policies, so that more effective strategies can be implemented to encourage the use of this technology in various sectors.

Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) is now a new trend in architectural presentations in Indonesia, offering an interactive experience that allows for a more detailed visualization of the space before construction. This study aims to explore the trend of VR adoption in Indonesia through a literature review sourced from architectural journals registered in Garba Rujukan Digital (GARUDA). The findings show that VR significantly improves spatial understanding, communication, and collaboration between architects and clients while facilitating faster decision-making. However, factors such as implementation costs and a lack of experts still hinder the widespread use of VR. The study recommends increased investment in VR training and infrastructure and encouraging closer cooperation between academia and the architecture industry to accelerate the adoption of this technology in Indonesia.

Abstract

The nursing unit accounts for the highest number of Patient Safety Incidents (PSI), with 64.83% of incidents in Hospital X Malang occurring in this unit, creating opportunities for underreporting. This study analyzes the influence of patient safety culture on nurses' willingness to report incidents using a descriptive quantitative cross-sectional approach with Partial Least Square analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires from nurses in various units. Results showed a moderate safety culture and reporting willingness, with significant effects of safety culture on perceptions of reporting flow, which in turn influenced reporting willingness. Weaknesses were found in understanding report-making and grading implementation. The study emphasizes fostering a strong patient safety culture and streamlining reporting systems. Practical applications include targeted training for nurses, enhanced communication channels, and a non-punitive reporting framework to reduce underreporting, strengthen reporting systems, and improve patient safety.
