Abstract

The Shift toward a green economy has emerged as a global priority in tackling climate change, resource scarcity, and the growing demand for sustainable development. Alongside this transition, rapid progress in healthcare and industrial technologies offers opportunities to boot efficiency, lower emissions, and generate added value. This study explores how green economy principles, environmental accounting, and technological innovation can be integrated within the healthcare and industrial sectors. A qualitative descriptive approach is applied, utilizing literature reviews and document analysis from scientific articles, sustainability reports, and policy documents published in the past five years. The results suggest that combining environmental accounting with technological innovation enhances the realization of a green economy by improving resource efficiency, increasing transparency in sustainability reporting, and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The findings also emphasize the essential function of environmental accounting in measuring the economic impact of technological innovations, particularly in healthcare and industry, which are among the largest contributors to energy use and carbon emissions.

Abstract

Rural communities often face challenges in utilizing local resources for economic empowerment. The Sanggrahan Women Farmer Group (KWT) in Sukoharjo has potential in cultivating family medicinal plants (TOGA), yet knowledge and skills in processing, packaging, financial management, and marketing remain limited. This study employed a participatory approach involving training, mentoring, and hands-on practice. The program included product innovation (jaselor, golor tea, moringa-based snacks), packaging design, financial literacy, and digital marketing. Pre-test and post-test assessments were conducted, supported by observation and documentation, with descriptive statistics and paired t-tests applied to measure changes. Findings revealed significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills. The proportion of members in the “good” knowledge category increased from 10% before training to 72% after training, while production skills improved from 12% to 73%. In addition, KWT successfully promoted products through social media and the village MSME Expo, gaining wider market exposure. Several products also obtained P-IRT certification, enhancing legitimacy and distribution potential. The results demonstrate that integrated empowerment—combining training, digital marketing, and certification—effectively strengthens women’s economic capacity and market readiness. This model is replicable in other rural settings and provides valuable insights for policymakers and development practitioners to foster sustainable, women-led economic empowerment.

Abstract

Aging is a natural biological process characterized by deterioration of physical, psychological, and social functions. These changes often cause stress in the elderly, which can negatively impact diet, appetite, and nutritional status. Poor nutritional status can trigger malnutrition, decreased immunity, degenerative diseases, and poor quality of life. This research aims to determine the relationship between stress levels and nutritional status in the elderly at the Baki Sukoharjo Community Health Center. This study uses a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 64 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. Research instruments include the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) to assess stress levels and the Mini Nutritional Assessment Short-Form (MNA-SF) to evaluate nutritional status. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that most respondents experienced mild stress, as many as 56 people (87.5%), while a small number experienced severe stress. The nutritional status of most respondents was at risk of malnutrition, namely 28 people (43.8%). The Chi-Square test results showed a significant relationship between stress levels and nutritional status in the elderly (p = 0.003). The results confirmed that high stress levels increase the risk of nutritional disorders, especially malnutrition. Therefore, effective stress management and education about balanced nutrition through health programs, family support, and community activities are needed to improve the quality of life of the elderly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the obstacles faced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in fulfilling tax obligations in Surakarta City. The research method employs a qualitative approach with a snowball sampling technique to determine informants from MSME actors. Data were collected in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively and thematically. The results indicate that MSME tax compliance remains low, with four main obstacles identified: (1) low literacy in taxation and accounting, (2) limited access and digital skills in using electronic tax services, (3) negative perceptions of tax as an additional business burden, and (4) lack of socialization and assistance from tax authorities. These findings are consistent with international studies emphasizing the importance of literacy, trust, fairness, as well as institutional and technological support in influencing MSME tax compliance. The study recommends enhancing tax education, providing intensive assistance, strengthening digital infrastructure, and fostering perceptions of a fairer and more transparent tax system to improve tax compliance in the MSME sector.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the degree of GDP inequality between Central Java Province's districts and cities. This study's methodology is the Theil Index, which uses secondary data from GDP based on relevant prices for the business sector in 2024 that were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). According to the study's findings, the degree of inequality in Central Java Province is indicated by the Theil Index, which has a value of 0.837, or nearly 1. This value shows that there is an uneven distribution of GDP between regions, with Semarang City having the highest GDP at 208,797 and Magelang City having the lowest at 7,690. Although there are still disparities or inequality between districts or cities due to variations in the GDP distribution process between Central Java regions, this indicates that the amount of disparity in the region is comparatively low. The processing industry sector is the largest contributor to Central Java's GDP, while other services are the least significant contributor.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between Hepatitis C Virus Antibody (anti-HCV) test results using the ELISA method and Hepatitis B surface Antigen (HBsAg) test results using the rapid test method. HBV and HCV co-infection is a clinically relevant issue as it can accelerate the progression of chronic liver disease. Data from 62 patient samples were analyzed using the Chi-Square test to examine the significance of the relationship between these two categorical variables. The statistical analysis revealed a Chi-Square value of 3.89 with a P-value of 0.048, which is below the 0.05 significance level. This finding indicates a statistically significant association between the HBsAg and anti-HCV test results. This study concludes that in the sampled population, a reactive result on one test is associated with reactivity on the other, highlighting the importance of dual screening for both viruses in high-risk populations.

Abstract

Branding is an important part of increasing competitiveness and business income, including in modern agricultural sectors like hydroponic watermelon farming. ARH FARM 2, as a small and medium-sized agrotourism business that picks watermelons, needs the right branding strategy to reach a wider market. This study uses a descriptive method and T-score analysis with three indicators: brand identity, promotion, and brand image, viewed from both consumer and producer perspectives. The T-score results from consumers are 14.17 (brand identity), 14.80 (promotion), and 17.14 (brand image), while from producers they are 16.04, 12.00, and 18.20. These results show that strengthening brand image and brand identity should be a priority, while promotion needs to be improved. The right branding strategy is expected to help ARH FARM 2 increase its income sustainably.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) face various governance challenges, weak internal audit mechanisms, limited community participation, to inadequate human resource capacity, all of which ultimately lead to a deficit of public trust in the management of village funds. The absence of clear financial reports, delays in information disclosure, and minimal community involvement have further fueled public suspicion, while weak internal auditing has allowed potential errors, inefficiencies, and even fraud to go undetected. To overcome these issues, a transformation in financial governance is required through the implementation of participatory accounting, which directly involves the community in financial recording, reporting, and evaluation. The collaboration between these two mechanisms will create a balanced synergy between openness and oversight, thereby encouraging the establishment of transparent, accountable, and sustainable BUMDes governance. This solution must be supported by enhancing the capacity of BUMDes managers through training, adopting digital systems to simplify financial reporting, and involving village community forums as platforms for public accountability. For effective implementation, village governments are advised to issue regulations mandating participatory accounting and internal audit practices, establish independent supervisory bodies that include community representatives, and gradually adopt simple and user-friendly digital financial technologies. Furthermore, BUMDes must cultivate an organizational culture grounded in openness, integrity, and collective responsibility so that transparency is not merely a formal procedure, but a value embedded in every aspect of village enterprise management.
