Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease with a high prevalence in Southeast Asia and Indonesia. Yoga as a non- pharmacological therapy has the potential to effectively lower blood pressure. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 30 hypertension patients participating in a chronic disease service program at the Grogol Community Health Center. Yoga exercises were carried out for three consecutive days with a duration of 30-60 minutes per session. Data were collected using a general data sheet and a blood pressure monitor. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure after the yoga intervention (p = 0.000). Yoga exercises play a role in improving heart function, reducing sympathetic nerve activity, and causing vasodilation, resulting in lower blood pressure. This study concluded that yoga exercises are effective as a non-pharmacological intervention that can improve the quality of life of hypertension patients and is recommended for routine implementation in the community.

Abstract

Pending BPJS claims for emergency cases is one of the obstacles in the healthcare payment process, impacting the smooth operation of the hospital. At Pandan Arang Regional Hospital (RSUD) in Boyolali, the number of pending claims is quite high, with 1,045 pending claims in 2024. This study aims to analyze the factors causing pending BPJS claims for emergency cases at Pandan Arang Regional Hospital in Boyolali. The research method used is descriptive with a retrospective approach. The study population of pending BPJS emergency claims was 1,045, with a sample of 289 individuals using simple random sampling. The results indicate that pending claims were largely caused by factors such as inappropriate emergency conditions (180 cases (62.28%), incomplete documentation (55 cases (19.03%), and other factors (54 cases (18.69%). This situation disrupts hospital cash flow, increases staff workload, and potentially decreases the quality of patient care. Therefore, improved efforts are needed through routine training, the preparation of clear SOPs, increased coordination between units, and the use of information technology so that the claims process runs more optimally and the quality of hospital services is maintained.

Abstract

Kombucha is a beverage made by fermenting tea or fruit with added sugar and a scoby. A scoby (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) is a starter that breaks down sugar into acetic acid and alcohol. This study used tea, Indramayu mango, and Honi pineapple. This study was conducted with observations on days 0, 7, and 14 by measuring pH, reducing sugar, alcohol, and scoby weight. The purpose of this study was to observe chemical and biological changes using different media. The results showed that fermentation occurred during this period. The longer the fermentation, the lower the pH level in all media and the sugar content also decreased. The longer the fermentation, the higher the alcohol content as a result of the fermentation process. The highest alcohol content was in pineapple kombucha with 3.25% on day 14. Increasing the fermentation time showed an increase in scoby weight. The results indicate that the media can be used as a kombucha medium. The fermentation time and sugar addition affect the quality of the final product.

Abstract

The second stage of labor is a crucial phase that influences maternal and neonatal outcomes. Its duration is an important indicator of whether labor progresses normally or requires intervention. Birthing position plays a role in this process. The squatting position is expected to facilitate cervical dilation and fetal head descent, thus shortening the second stage. This study aimed to determine the effect of squatting on the duration of the second stage of labor. An experimental design was conducted with two groups: 15 mothers delivering in the squatting position and 15 in the lithotomy position. Data on the duration of the second stage were collected through observation and analyzed using the t-test. Results showed a significant difference between groups (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Mothers in the squatting position experienced a shorter second stage compared to those in the lithotomy position. The squatting position was proven to enhance contractions, improve the mechanism of labor, and facilitate optimal opening of the birth canal. It can be considered a safe and effective alternative birthing position to accelerate delivery, provided there is adequate education and professional supervision.

Abstract

Maternal anemia remains a major public health problem, particularly in developing countries, including Indonesia. Conventional iron supplementation often faces adherence issues due to side effects, thus highlighting the need for alternative, food-based interventions utilizing locally available resources. Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is rich in high-quality protein, albumin, and bioavailable iron, while moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) contain plant-based iron, vitamin C, and antioxidants that enhance iron absorption. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of floss products based on snakehead fish and moringa leaves to increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia. A quasi-experimental study was conducted on 40 pregnant women with anemia, divided into one control group (floss products without moringa) and one intervention groups with different moringa additions every week (15 g, 20 g, and 25 g). Each participant consumed 150 g of floss products daily for 3 weeks. Hemoglobin levels were measured before and after intervention using standard procedures. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test with a 95% confidence level. The mean hemoglobin level increased from 9.7 g/dL (SD = 0.3) to 10.6 g/dL (SD = 0.5) after the intervention (p < 0.001). The intervention groups achieved significantly higher hemoglobin levels (mean = 12.5 g/dL, SD = 0.9) compared to the control group (mean = 11.2 g/dL, SD = 0.7), with p = 0.002. The combination of snakehead fish and moringa leaves was effective in improving hemoglobin levels among pregnant women with anemia.

Abstract

The absence of a model that simultaneously integrates the social, legal, and health dimensions hinders efforts to build community resilience in the era of global health crises. This study develops the Integrative Tridomain Model (Social–Legal–Health) to design comprehensive interventions that sustainably strengthen community resilience amid global health crises. Employing a conceptual approach with a descriptive orientation, this research constructs the Integrative Tridomain Model through a systematic synthesis of cross-disciplinary literature to broaden the understanding of community resilience in the context of global health emergencies. The findings indicate that the development of the Integrative Tridomain Model marks a paradigmatic leap in conceptualizing and fostering community resilience during global health crises. The model offers an epistemological synthesis that unites social, legal, and health knowledge; an ontological framework that perceives resilience as a systemic and relational entity; and an axiological foundation that prioritizes humanitarian values, justice, and sustainability as its core objectives. By merging the strengths of these three domains, the model not only addresses existing challenges but also shapes a more adaptive and inclusive order, enabling communities to endure and thrive in the face of complex and recurrent uncertainties.
