Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in Indonesia’s economy but often face barriers in adopting digital technologies, particularly in customer relationship management (CRM). This study aimed to develop and evaluate a contextually adaptive Electronic Customer Relationship Management (E-CRM) model tailored to MSMEs' operational realities. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research included needs analysis, model development, and pilot implementation involving five MSMEs in Surakarta. Key barriers identified were lack of human resources, high development costs, and low digital literacy. The proposed web-based E-CRM prototype included simplified interfaces, data analytics, and communication automation. Results showed improvements in customer retention (+23%), reduced marketing costs (?18%), and increased revenue (+12%). The findings highlight the model’s potential to enhance MSME competitiveness through accessible, user-friendly digital innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance on employee retention and job satisfaction. The work-life balance phenomenon is increasingly important in the modern era because individuals are required to be able to balance the demands of work and personal life. This study used a quantitative method with an associative approach, involving 196 respondents determined using the Lameshow formula. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability using SmartPLS 3.2.9 through convergent validity, composite reliability, Cronbach's alpha, and AVE values. The results of the analysis showed that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on employee retention with a T-statistic value of 21.024 (p < 0.005), and a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction with a T-statistic value of 26.903 (p < 0.005). These findings confirm that employees who are able to manage work-life balance tend to have higher job satisfaction and greater commitment to the organization. Therefore, management strategies that support work-life balance can be an important effort in improving employee performance and loyalty.

Abstract

The diversification of the Kampung Lele business through catfish chips products aims to increase the income of farmers and absorb the relatively large fresh catfish sizes, namely 1 kg containing 3, 4, 5 that are not sold. In reality, catfish chips products face obstacles in marketing because there is no team that connects the sale of catfish chips products outside Java and people do not buy catfish chips every day, so it has not been able to increase the income of catfish farmers in Kampung Lele Boyolali. The purpose of this study is to determine the market potential of catfish chips in Kampung Lele Boyolali. The analytical methods used were Return on Investment (ROI) and marketing margin analysis. The ROI analysis showed an efficiency of 79%, and a marketing margin of Rp 12,000 per three catfish chip variants. Therefore, catfish chip production in Kampung Lele Boyolali has the potential to be further developed with a market development strategy that accommodates and is appropriate for the future.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has positioned social media as a vital tool for marketing and competitive advantage. This study examines how social media marketing (SMM) strategies enhance brand growth through a qualitative descriptive approach and literature review, focusing on the case of Glad2Glow Skincare on Instagram. Data were drawn from scholarly articles, industry reports, and analysis of influencer promotional content. The findings reveal that content type and message framing significantly impact engagement. For instance, Aqeela Calista’s reel generated 229,000 likes, 1,041 comments, and 1,785 shares, making it the most effective in driving interaction. Similarly, Syifa Hadju’s testimonial-style feed post gained 78,500 likes and 522 comments, showing the power of authenticity in building trust. In contrast, static feed posts such as Amanda Manopo’s (19,900 likes; 440 comments) and Elina Joerg’s (16,500 likes; 294 comments) attracted lower engagement, highlighting the superiority of reels and short-video formats. These results align with prior studies emphasizing emotional appeal and interactive strategies as key drivers of consumer participation. Nevertheless, challenges such as algorithm changes and sustaining long-term loyalty persist. The case of Glad2Glow demonstrates that strategic influencer collaborations, dynamic content design, and consumer-centric engagement can transform social media into a powerful driver of competitive advantage in the beauty industry.

Abstract

Egg rolls are one type of food that requires additional ingredients in the form of sauce. Many egg sellers use bicycles or two-wheeled vehicles, with merchandise placed behind the bicycle or motorbike. However, the cleanliness of egg rolls is often ignored, one of the causes is exposure to dust and air that enters the food. This study aims to test for contamination of Eschericia coli bacteria and identify the presence of these bacteria in the sauce used in egg rolls. The method used in this study was a field survey with random and descriptive sampling techniques to determine the presence or absence of Eschericia coli in several types of sauces sold with egg rolls. Sampling was carried out by selecting 10 types of sauces from egg roll food sold around in Klaten Regency. Tests for Eschericia coli bacteria were carried out at the Biology Laboratory of Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, and one sample as a negative control using the most probable number (MPN) method, Escherichia coli test and gram staining. The results of the Most Probabe Number test and confirmation test showed that there was Eschericia coli, while from the results of gram staining, the detected bacteria were included in the gram-negative category. The results of the biochemical test showed that the bacteria in the sample included the Enterobacter and Escherichia coli species. The tests carried out showed that all results did not meet the standards set in SNI 01-3546-2004, which regulates the maximum limit of the Total Plate Count (TPC) in tomato sauce is 2 x 10² colonies/g, while according to the Regulation of the Head of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia number HK. 00. 06. 1. 52. 401, the maximum limit of the Most Probable Number (MPN) Coliform in tomato sauce is 100 colonies/g.

Abstract

Sausage is a processed minced meat product with added fillers, emulsifiers, and flavor enhancers. In line with the trend of reducing low-fat consumption, many animal-based products are being partially or completely substituted with plant-based ingredients. This study aims to formulate and characterize sausages by adding tempeh flour as the main meat substitute protein and arrowroot flour as a filler with five percentage ratios (0:80; 20:60; 40:40; 60:20; 80:0) to the total dough. The study used a completely randomized design with one factor and analyzed the texture, moisture content, and sensory data using descriptive statistical methods. The results showed that the higher the tempe flour substitution, the more brittle the texture became. Conversely, the higher the arrowroot flour content, the higher the firmness value. Based on sensory tests for taste, color, and overall texture, sausages with the highest proportion of arrowroot flour were actually preferred.

Abstract

In everyday communication, speakers often rely on indirect expressions whose meanings must be inferred from context, making conversational implicatures a key element in understanding how language functions beyond its literal form. This study investigates how conversational implicatures function as tools for negotiating power and identity in cross-cultural communication, as portrayed by the main characters in Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum’s Purple Hearts (2022). Guided by a sociopragmatics perspective, the research examines how implicit meanings in dialogue both reflect and shape interpersonal dynamics between Cassandra Salazar, a liberal musician, and Luke Morrow, a conservative U.S. Marine. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, analyzing 56 utterances drawn from the film’s subtitles. Findings reveal that particularized conversational implicatures (PCI) are the most dominant type, followed by generalized conversational implicatures (GCI) and scalar implicatures (SI). These implicatures serve not only to convey hidden meanings but also to express sarcasm, resistance, politeness, vulnerability, and emotional tension. The results demonstrate that implicatures are central to power relations, with Luke often using them to subtly assert institutional authority, while Cassandra employs them as acts of resistance and identity assertion. Over time, their communication shifts from conflict to adaptation, showing how cultural differences—liberal versus conservative worldviews, expressive versus restrained styles—both complicate and enrich cross-cultural interactions. This study contributes to sociopragmatics research by highlighting how cinematic discourse embodies ideological conflicts and identity negotiation, and how conversational implicatures facilitate cultural convergence in cross-cultural relationships.
