Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model using Pop-Up Book media in enhancing students' creativity in history learning at SMA Negeri 1 Gebog Kudus. The research is motivated by the need to create learning experiences that encourage active student engagement and the development of 21st-century skills, particularly creativity. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed, involving a history teacher and students from class XI F-8 as the research subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using data triangulation techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of PjBL with Pop-Up Book media effectively enhances the four indicators of student creativity: fluency in thinking, flexibility, originality, and idea elaboration. This suggests that the use of Pop-Up Book-based PjBL is a relevant and adaptable creative learning alternative across various educational levels and subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of slideshow-based video media on students’ critical thinking skills in the topic of Prehistoric Indonesia at SMA Negeri 1 Cikeusal in the 2020/2021 academic year. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with purposive sampling. The sample was collected in August–September 2020. Data on students’ critical thinking skills were obtained through pretests and posttests administered to both control and experimental classes. Data were analyzed using a t-test. The findings indicate a significant difference in critical thinking skills between students who used slideshow-based video media and those who did not. The one-tailed t-test at α = 0.05 showed that t calculated exceeded t table, thus rejecting H₀ and accepting Hₐ. It can be concluded that the use of slideshow-based video media has a significant influence on students’ critical thinking skills in the topic of Prehistoric Indonesia.

Abstract

The teaching of history in Indonesia remains predominantly centered on national narratives, often disconnected from the lived cultural realities of students. This article introduces the “SEJARAH-HIDUP” model (Students Explore, Record, Aspire), pedagogical framework developed to revitalize history education through contextual, reflective, and community-based learning. Situated within the flexibility of the Kurikulum Merdeka, this model seeks to integrate local cultural heritage as a primary medium for historical inquiry and identity formation. This study employs a qualitative design based on an extensive literature review and triangulation of theories and sources. Findings indicate that the SEJARAH-HIDUP model not only bridges the gap between national curriculum design and students’ sociocultural contexts but also enhances historical consciousness and active citizenship. The model offers both theoretical advancement and practical guidance for integrating local narratives into transformative history education. This work contributes to the growing body of literature advocating for decolonized, place-responsive curricula in postcolonial education systems.

Abstract

The utilization of web design-based ebooklets in the learning process is a strategic step as an innovative educational tool to improve students' learning experience. Web design-based ebooklets are easily accessible and cost-effective so that they are suitable for students to use in learning history, especially local contexts with a focus on the Major Hamid Rusi Monument. This research departs from the potential and problems encountered at SMKN 10 Malang which aims to examine the utilization of Web design-based ebooklets as local history teaching materials at SMKN 10 Malang, with a case study of the Major Hamid Rusdi Monument. The research uses a case study method and a qualitative approach that explores how the Ebooklet can help students foster historical awareness of the existence of monuments around the scope of the school and their place of residence. The results showed that the web design-based ebooklet was effective in increasing students' understanding of local history, especially recognizing the figure of Major Hamid Rusdi.

Abstract

Palembang, with the beauty of the Musi River flowing through its city center, serves as a central point in the community's life. The city of Palembang is divided into two regions, namely Seberang Ulu (Ulu) and Seberang Ilir (Ilir), separated by the Musi River since the era of the Palembang Sultanate. The Arab ethnic community in Palembang is concentrated in several villages, one of which is Arabian Village Al-Munawar 13 Ulu Palembang, a settlement of the descendants of Habib Abdurrahman or Abdullah Al- Munawar who settled from Hadhramaut. They adhere strictly to the practice of marrying within the Arab lineage and reside along the banks of the Musi River. This village holds the potential for development but also requires preservation to prevent possible displacement in the future. The village's houses encompass various forms, including "limas" houses, warehouses, "Indies" houses, and raised platform houses. This research employs historical research methods to reveal the historical legacy, distinctive characteristics of Palembang, and the ethnic and cultural diversity in Arabian Village Al-Munawar 13 Ulu Palembang. The study concludes that Kampung Arab Al-Munawar 13 Ulu Palembang, existing for about 250 years, was the residence of traders' descendants from Hadhramaut. With marriage customs and settlement patterns reflecting the community's adaptation to its environment, this village holds significance in the historical and cultural diversity context of Palembang.

Abstract

Deep Learning as a core approach in the Merdeka Curriculum requires teachers to design meaningful, contextual, and student-centered learning experiences. This study aims to describe the readiness level of teachers at SDN Sungai Lulut 4 Banjarmasin in implementing Deep Learning in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), particularly for the topic “My Indonesia Rich in Culture and History.” This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis of teaching materials. The main informants were two fourth-grade teachers at SDN Sungai Lulut 4 Banjarmasin. The findings indicate that teachers possess a basic understanding of the Deep Learning concept; however, they still encounter challenges in its implementation, particularly in planning authentic assessments, managing project-based activities, and utilizing local learning resources. In addition, teachers expressed enthusiasm for integrating Banjar cultural values, yet limited time and training hinder optimal implementation. In conclusion, the teachers’ readiness level is categorized as adequate, but further improvement in pedagogical competence, curriculum understanding, and school support is needed to ensure IPAS learning becomes deeper, more relevant, and contextual for students.

Abstract

This research discusses the Lampung Pepper Trade to Banten and its influence on social status in the 17th century. This research uses historical research methods, namely, heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. This research found that the people of Lampung obtained social status after selling Lada to the Banten sultanate based on certain heavy provisions. The awarding of the title occurred because of Lampung's close relationship with Banten, which was driven by the importance of the pepper trade at that time. As the main commodity, pepper connects Lampung with the international trade network through the port of Banten. The Sultanate of Banten built good relations with the people of Lampung to maintain a stable supply of pepper and meet the ever-increasing global demand. This trade point not only had an impact on the economy but also influenced the social structure in Lampung. The social title given reflected close economic interactions as well as changes in status. Lampung social community.
