Abstract

Anxiety can arise, especially when students face difficulties, such as when they experience anxiety when compiling a final assignment. Students really need motivation and peer cooperation to solve problems that arise during the process of compiling a final assignment. To determine the relationship between social support, especially peers, and the level of anxiety of students in compiling a final assignment for the undergraduate nursing study program at Mega Buana University, Palopo. This study uses a quantitative, correlational design; variable testing uses Spearman's rho. The method applied in this study is cross-sectional, meaning that data are collected simultaneously for the independent and dependent variables. The results of the Spearman's rho statistical test using SPSS version 30 show that the ???? value (0.042) is a value that is smaller than α <0.05, which indicates acceptance of Ha and rejection of H0. Therefore, in compiling the final assignment for the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program at Mega Buana University, Palopo, there is a relationship between peer social support and students' anxiety levels. This is indicated by the correlation coefficient of 0.345, which is interpreted as a moderate, positive relationship. The results of the statistical test indicate that there is a relationship between peer social support and the level of student anxiety in compiling the final assignment of the undergraduate nursing study program at Mega Buana University, Palopo, in 2025, with a positive direction and a significant p-value.

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is a disease that can occur anywhere and at any time. To effectively handle it, knowledge of basic life support (BHD) is required. Basic life support is the initial treatment for victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest. With proper preparedness in providing basic life support, it is hoped that response efforts can be faster and more precise, thereby minimizing the number of victims. The purpose of this activity was to increase students' knowledge and skills in basic life support. The method used was a lecture, namely the delivery of socialization material and BHD support simulation methods. The results obtained were an increase in student knowledge after the socialization and simulation, as evidenced by the percentage of post-test results that increased compared to the percentage of pre-test results that had been conducted. This activity is expected to be carried out periodically to increase the insight of students and the community.

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by reversible bronchial obstruction and airway hyperresponsiveness. β₂-agonists, especially short-acting β₂-agonists (SABA), act as quick-relief medications because they do not address the underlying inflammation of asthma. However, excessive use of β₂-agonists increases the risk of severe exacerbations, reduced asthma control, and increased mortality. This study aims to review the characteristics of β₂-agonists and the phenomenon of overuse in asthma patients. A literature review was conducted by searching articles in the Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed databases using the keywords “asthma,” “β₂-agonist,” “Short-acting β₂-agonists (SABA),” and “overuse,” covering the period from 2015 to 2025. Selection was performed using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method, through a process of screening titles, abstracts, and full-text based on inclusion criteria. SABA overuse was defined as the use of ≥3 canisters per year or exceeding the reasonable limit of reliever use for symptom control. Several countries reported high prevalence of overuse, namely 15.9% in Taiwan, 30% in Sweden, 36–38% in Germany, and 44.8% in Canada. Excessive use of β₂-agonists is associated with an increase in recurrent exacerbations, the need for oral corticosteroids, decreased lung function, and an increased risk of mortality. Therefore, controlling inflammation through the use of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) remains the mainstay of asthma therapy to prevent complications and reduce dependence on SABA.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is a crucial determinant affecting the quality of nursing care. Nurses who lack confidence in their ability to deliver quality patient care may precipitate unforeseen incidents that adversely affect the standard of nursing care (Nita & Agustika, 2023). Therapeutic Employee Performance is essential; it is a deliberately strategised and concentrated form of Employee Performance that seeks to facilitate the patient's recovery. All actions and communications from the nurse must be therapeutic for the patient. This study examines nurses' self-efficacy and therapeutic Employee Performance models regarding patient satisfaction. The employed research strategy is a correlational analysis using a cross-sectional design. The sample comprises 100 inpatients at Wijaya Kusuma Hospital, chosen through accidental sampling. The research variables include self-efficacy, therapeutic employee performance, and patient satisfaction. Data collection was conducted via questionnaires, and the data were processed through editing, coding, scoring, and tabulation steps. Subsequently, it underwent analysis using regression testing. The research revealed a P-value of 0.000, demonstrating a significant link among self-efficacy, therapeutic employee performance, and patient satisfaction. This strong association indicates that self-efficacy and therapeutic employee performance may significantly enhance patient satisfaction, thereby benefiting patient visits.

Abstract

Depression among adolescent girls with obesity is a significant health concern that adversely impacts behavioral, emotional, and cognitive development. Addressing this condition necessitates the robust involvement of primary healthcare services; thus, understanding the lived experiences of community health center (Puskesmas) nurses in caring for this demographic is essential. This study aimed to explore the experiences of Puskesmas nurses in Pekanbaru City to identify practical barriers and inform the development of intervention strategies that are more responsive to adolescents’ psychological needs. A qualitative study utilizing an interpretive phenomenological design was conducted. Nine nurses from five Puskesmas were selected via purposive sampling. Data were gathered through 45-60 minute semi-structured in-depth interviews, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using the Colaizzi method. The analysis revealed three core themes: (1) the utilization of adolescent health services, (2) the accessibility of healthcare delivery, and (3) specific service requirements for obese adolescent girls in depression prevention. While services were implemented through school outreach, screening, and counseling, their utilization for psychological issues remained suboptimal. Service delivery was further constrained by inconsistent participation, limited personnel, restricted service hours, and promotive-preventive programs that lacked obesity-specific targeting. Identified needs included enhanced information dissemination, strengthened cross-sectoral coordination, and the development of specialized educational media for obesity. Although adolescent health services are available at Puskesmas, they are not yet optimized for preventing depression among adolescents with obesity. This study recommends strengthening targeted programs, enhancing school-level collaboration, and developing structured educational and counseling interventions.
