Abstract

This research focuses on the preservation of the Wringin Lawang Gate, a cultural heritage site in Trowulan, Mojokerto, which has historical value as a relic of the Majapahit Kingdom. A descriptive qualitative approach is used to evaluate the physical condition, accessibility, community participation, and educational potential contained in this site. The findings show that although the arch structure is still sturdy, there is damage to certain parts due to age and weather factors. Access to this site is quite good, but the supporting facilities are still limited. Educational activities at the Wringin Lawang Gate are still not optimal and require the development of a more structured program. The participation of local communities in site preservation already exists, but needs to be increased through active involvement in education and conservation activities. Recommendations for site managers include improving educational programs through modern technology such as augmented reality, as well as the development of supporting facilities to maximize the potential of the Wringin Lawang Gate as an effective and sustainable educational facility.

Abstract

Ecoprint is a fabric dyeing technique using natural materials such as leaves and flowers to create unique patterns and colors. This technique is an environmentally friendly alternative compared to conventional methods that use dangerous chemicals. Apart from producing aesthetic products, ecoprint also reduces waste and energy consumption. This research explores the use of ecoprint in making tote bags, by utilizing waste cassava leaves and papaya leaves. On July 31 and August 4 2024, the Business Plan Socialization Program (SIBAL) in Sumput Village involved PKK cadres and mothers. Activities include explanations, practice, questions and answers, and giving prizes. The results show participants' enthusiasm in learning ecoprint techniques, as well as increased understanding of environmental benefits and business potential. In conclusion, ecoprint is a sustainable solution for environmentally friendly fashion production and supports the principles of sustainability.

Abstract

As one of the requirements to work in Japan, mastery of the Japanese language is very important. The Japan government stipulates that foreign workers entering Japan must have Japan language skills. The JLPT (Noryokushiken) is a Japan Language Proficiency Test held in Japan and abroad to evaluate and certify the ability of non-native Japan speakers to speak Japan. In Indonesia, especially Semarang, the implementation of the JLPT Exam is coordinated by Dian Nuswantoro University and in collaboration with Kesatrian 2 High School as the location of the JLPT exam and involves Kesatrian High School teachers to be used as assistant exam supervisors. The requirement to become a proctor is to understand all the rules during the exam process. Because the teachers of Kesatrian 2 High School have never been assistant supervisors of the JLPT exam before, there is a need for socialization about the rules of the JLPT exam. With this socialization, the assistant supervisors can carry out their duties in accordance with the rules set by the Japan government.

Abstract

Group 39 from the KSMT Community Service Program (Bachelor Service Candidates) carried out activities in Wonoayu Village, Wajak District, Malang Regency, where the majority of the population worked as farmers and breeders. One of the problems faced by the community in this village is the suboptimal use of corn, because most of the corn is only sold in raw form. To overcome this problem, socialization was given about the development of corn-based MSMEs and training to the community on how to process corn into ready-to-eat products, so that it has a higher selling value and can improve the village economy. The method used in this program is through socialization and training in making corn nuggets to the people of Wonoayu Village. This activity received a positive response, as evidenced by the active participation of the community in the socialization and training. The result of this program is that the community becomes more aware of how to make corn nuggets, and with this program, they can also be more innovative in developing village products to have a higher selling value, so that they can support the economy of the local community.

Abstract

This article explores the development and application of smart aeroponic innovation as an effort to improve efficiency in energy-friendly urban farming. Smart aeroponics, which utilizes sensor technology and automatic control systems, is designed to maximize plant growth while minimizing energy and water use. In this community service project, we implemented a smart aeroponic system in several urban locations and trained local communities in its operation and maintenance. Evaluation of the results showed that this system can increase energy efficiency by up to 70% when compared to hydroponics with the Deep Flow Technique (DFT) method or each can save 29.02 kWh for mustard greens cultivation. And 41.00 kWh for lettuce cultivation. The potential of this technology is an effort to improve the efficiency of urban agriculture, but also provides significant ecological and economic benefits for urban communities, so that it can be a sustainable model for future agricultural development.

Abstract

Organic waste remains a significant problem in various major cities in Indonesia, especially in urban areas such as Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. Household waste, which predominantly consists of organic materials, is often simply discarded or burned without proper processing, leading to environmental issues. One innovative solution that is beginning to be implemented is the processing of organic waste into eco enzyme. Eco enzyme is a versatile liquid produced through the fermentation of organic waste, such as vegetable and fruit scraps. This study aims to examine the process of making eco enzyme and its benefits for both society and the environment. The research method involves several stages, starting from material preparation, the fermentation process, to the harvesting of eco enzyme. The results of the study indicate that eco enzyme products offer various benefits, including as a natural cleaner, organic fertilizer, and a substance for improving air and soil quality. The three-month fermentation process produces eco enzyme with a fresh acidic smell and a pH below 4. Additionally, eco enzyme can be utilized on a household scale up to a larger scale for agricultural and environmental management purposes. Although eco enzyme has great potential in waste management, the main challenges faced are the lack of awareness and knowledge among the community regarding the benefits and production methods of eco enzyme. Therefore, further efforts in socialization and training are needed to maximize the potential of eco enzyme as a sustainable solution in organic waste management.
