Magistrorum et Scholarium: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat (JMS) merupakan ajang penyajian hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan akses terbuka bagi para insan akademisi, peneliti, mahasiswa, dosen maupun praktisi. JMSmerupakan publikasi berkala yang diterbitkan Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) Salatiga, terbit tiga kali dalam setahun (bulan Agustus, Desember dan April). Fokus JMS adalah menyebarluaskan karya inovasi dari aktivitas pengabdian masyarakat berbagai disiplin ilmu dengan rupa-rupa topik yang memiliki dampak bagi masyarakat dan bangsa. JMS merupakan bagian dari komitmen UKSW dalam menjalin relasi yang baik dengan masyarakat dengan menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Keberagaman disiplin ilmu menjadi kekuatan dampak aktivitas pengabdian masyarakat.

Abstract

Mediation is an alternative settlement implemented by the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency to optimize the resolution of land cases. One of them is by issuing Regulation of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency No. 11 of 2016 concerning Settlement of Land Cases. Land cases that can be resolved through mediation do not only originate from the Ministry's initiative, but are also based on public complaints. The Land Office is at the forefront in carrying out mediation to improve the resolution of land cases in Indonesia. The Salatiga City Land Office has taken a role in settlement efforts through mediation. Although the results of the mediation carried out have not yet reached an agreement or peace.

Abstract

Manajemen tata kelola destinasi wisata merupakan salah satu hal yang penting dalam sebuah destinasi wisata. Destinasi wisata perlu memperhatikan tata kelola destinasi supaya dapat memaksimalkan dampak-dampak positif yang ada dan meminimalisir dampak negatif yang mungkin timbul dari adanya kegiatan pariwisata. Di Salatiga, ada sebuah desa bernama Desa Sidorejo Kidul. Desa tersebut sedang mempersiapkan destinasinya menjadi destinasi wisata unggulan di Salatiga. Maksud dari pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat Desa Sidorejo Kidul agar mengenal manajemen tata kelola destinasi wisata dan lebih siap lagi dalam menjalankan destinasi wisata yang mereka miliki. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahapan, yaitu tahap materi dan tahap pendampingan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober tahun 2022. Harapan dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat bisa lebih mandiri dalam mengelola destinasi wisata dan mengedepankan konsep pariwisata berbasis masyarakat.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk untuk meningkatkan interaksi sosial pada orang dengan Disabilitas di Lembaga Sentra Terpadu Kartini Temanggung Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilakukan bersama orang disabilitas yang beragam dengan aktivitas kelompok yang yaitu “Goyang Balon”. Terdapat 3 jenis permainan yaitu, menggiring balon, melambungkan balon dan meletuskan balon. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah adanya interaksi sosial yang dibangun antara sesama disabilitas walaupun dengan keragaman usia dan penyandang disabilitas ketika dalam permainan aktivitas kelompok.

Abstract

This project aims to enhance social interaction among individuals with disabilities residing in the Sentra Terpadu Kartini Temanggung. Dangdut music serves as one of the medium for facilitating interaction among individuals within the group. Activities to improve social interaction among disabled individuals need to be presented in an enjoyable manner, one of which is through simple games involving physical movement. The result of this activities indicate that the process of interaction becomes easier when using media that align with the preferences of a particular group, such as dancing and singing along to dangdut music.

Abstract

In the present-day era, the notion of human development is a key concept that has been continuously pursued by various nations, including Indonesia. Nonetheless, there are still numerous regions and communities in the outermost, foremost, and disadvantaged areas that have yet to fully experience the benefits of development. To support the process of human development, it is crucial to establish a synergistic collaboration across multiple sectors, involving not only the government but also the private sector, academia, and the local community. The Muyu tribe, residing in Ninati Village, Ninati District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua, represents an indigenous community situated on the brder between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea (PNG) that is currently making strides towards enhancing human development. In response to this pressing need, academics from Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) and several other stakeholders have taken the initiative to empower the indigenous people of Muyu tribe. Though on-site research and remote empowerment process, the involvement of UKSW academics and other parties aims to facilitate empowerment and foster various aspects of human development by harnessing the indigenous people inherit potential.

Abstract

Interview results showed that teachers still experience difficulties in carrying out educational action research, especially in developing instruments for collecting data and analize the results. Community Service in collaboration with 35 teachers who are members of the Biology Teacher Association (MGMP) of Semarang District as partners was carried out as an effort to resolve these problems. Community Service was carried out through three stages, namely preparation, training, and evaluation. The main stage of this program was carried out in the form of training using the lecture and discussion methods which are presented in three parts. The results of the questionnaire analysis at the end of the program showed that on average the majority of answers were agreed (as much as 60.7%) to various statements indicating an increase in partners' understanding and skills regarding educational action research. Therefore, it was concluded that the PkM program implemented succeeded in increasing partners' knowledge of the basic concepts of educational action research  preparation. The training provided has also improved the skills of teachers in carrying out and writing scientific papers resulting from educational action research.

Abstract

The influence of global warming on the climate crisis presents a significant challenge that affects not only governments but also communities and individuals at grassroots level. Relying solely on government actions as the primary solution for a better Earth is insufficient. Instead, we can see initiatives led by private organizations and individuals as important contributors to addressing the cimate crisis. For instance, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation, such as tree planting, plays a key role in tackling this issue. As a demonstration of our commitment, during the 2023 Student Orientation (OMB) at Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW), partnered with the Djarum Foundation Community Service (BLDF) to engage in tree planting activities across Salatiga. This endeavor also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the pivotal locations for tree planting was the Tingkir Tengah, Salatiga, an area characterized by arid and barren landscapes that urgently require collaborative efforts from the government, private sector, and society at large.

Abstract

Teknologi dan internet telah menjadi bagian integral dari kehidupan sehari-hari yang memfasilitasi komunikasi, pendidikan, dan hiburan. Namun penggunaan yang berlebihan dapat mengarah kepada kecenderungan kecanduan. Tujuan kegiatan PKM ini yakni untuk meningkatkan pemahaman remaja di Panti Sosial tentang cara penggunaan gadget secara benar dan tepat sesuai kebutuhan. Kegiatan melibatkan 26 remaja PPSA Woro Wiloso Salatiga. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan peningkatan rerata antara sebelum (pre-test) yang menunjukkan nilai 25,88 dan setelah perlakuan diberikan (post-test) menunjukkan nilai 26,00. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan ketercapaian peningkatan pemahaman remaja tentang penggunaan gadget. Diharapkan remaja dapat mengaplikasikan perilaku penggunaan gadget secara optimal dan benar sesuai dengan kebutuhan.

Abstract

Management of NCDs is a challenge especially in low- and middle-income countries due to the double burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, shortage of human and material resources and other competing economic priorities in these countries. This need for promotion and early detection then becomes the background for the implementation of community service, especially for congregations in the JKI Royal Family regarding non-communicable diseases. Community service was carried out for 27 congregations in the JKI Royal Family. This service includes measuring blood pressure, checking blood sugar, uric acid and cholesterol at the same time as providing education which aims to provide an understanding of abnormal examination results along with things that must be avoided. Several findings were obtained, namely 1) the majority of blood pressure examination results blood above 120/80 mmHg, 2) the majority of cholesterol examination results were predominantly more than 200 mmHg, 3) the majority of instant blood sugar and uric acid examination results were normal although values were still found above the normal range. It can be concluded that the community service process went according to schedule and received a positive response from the participants as evidenced by the involvement of the participants from the beginning to the end of the community service process.

Abstract

Desa Cukilan menjadi salah satu sentra penghasil durian. Permasalahan yang muncul adalah belum ada pemanfaatan durian dengan kualitas rendah dan limbah biji dan kulit durian. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah upaya pemanfaatan durian berkualitas rendah dan limbah durian agar memili nilai tambah. Metode yang diguunakan adalah observassi, penelitian, dan sosialisasi. Dihasilkan tiga produk, yaitu; es krim durian, selai, dan briket arang. Durian dengan kualitas rendah dapat dimanfaatkan dan memiliki nilei ekonomi yanh baik serta limbahnya memiliki nilai ekonomi.
