Abstract

The value of teaching in the epic I La Galigo is expected to be a reference for other research and a consideration in carrying out educational development in Indonesia. Providing awareness about the existence of learning values contained in local wisdom as a legacy that is owned in Indonesia so that it can provide a perspective on the development of education in Indonesia. This study uses a reflective/reflective method with Schleiermacher's hermeneutic study on text analysis and text reconstruction. The data used as the object of study is the epic manuscript I La Galigo episode We Cudai Gives Birth to I La Galigo. Data analysis is in accordance with using qualitative data analysis. The results of the study show that the epic I La Galigo episode We Cudai Gives Birth to I La Galigo has pedagogic value, especially in teaching value. The concept of character formation, teacher knowledge and inspiration is embodied in the discovery of meaning in the text above. There are teaching values about responsibility, sacrifice, orientation, scientific mastery and the ability to provide reinforcement by a teacher to instill mindset, principles, knowledge, intelligence, criticality and analysis. ability of students.

Abstract

The Religiosity of the Main Character in the Novel Haji Backpacker by Aguk Irawan Mn. This study aims to describe the level, type, and aspect of the main character's religiosity contained in the novel Haji Backpacker by Aguk Irawan MN. This study uses a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive design. The results of this study indicate that; (1) the level of religiosity of the main character contained in the novel Haji Backpacker by Aguk Irawan MN in terms of the level of religiosity of sharia, tariqat, essence, and makrifat directed at a complex level of religiosity. (2) The type of religiosity of the characters contained in the novel Haji Backpacker by Agu Irawan MN is the type of religiosity with direct message delivery. (3) The religiosity aspect of the main character contained in the novel Haji Backpacker by Agu Irawan MN refers to three things, namely aqidah or determinants of direction, sharia, and ihsan or morals.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of language politeness in interactions between teachers and students, and students and teachers. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The source of this research data is the result of interaction between students and teachers. The results of this study indicate that the form of politeness from teacher to student interaction obeys 5 forms of maxims namely, the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of appreciation, the maxim of modesty, and the maxim of sympathy. While the form of politeness from student to teacher interactions obeys 5 forms of maxims, namely, the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of agreement, the maxim of modesty, and the maxim of sympathy.

Abstract

The Use of Teacher Metaphors in Online Class Discourse on Indonesian Language Learning on Youtube and Social Media. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method and aims to examine the use of metaphorical types and functions in online class discourse on Indonesian language learning on YouTube and social media. The results of the study reveal that the types of teacher metaphors used in Indonesian language learning class discourse on YouTube and social media use anthropomorphic metaphors, animal metaphors, metaphors from concrete to abstract, and synesthetic metaphors. The functions of metaphors in learning Indonesian online on YouTube are information functions, expression functions, and directive functions. The most common type of metaphor found in this study is the synesthetic metaphor. The most common use of the metaphorical function found in this research is the information function.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the shape of the symbols and to analyze the symbols contained in the essay text of the essay Medium God Is Jealous by Emha Ainun Nadjib. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The method used in this study is an analytical method that produces data in the form of words, phrases and sentences. The research results obtained focus on the symbolic meaning of the essay text While God is Jealous by Emha Ainun Nadjib which is described through words or scientific language. Based on the analysis of the data and the discussion of the research, it was found that various forms of symbols were found, which, if examined in more depth, relied on harsh reality, honesty, truth, heartache, hope, rejection, and the author's suspicion of the reality that occurs in everyday life.

Abstract

Ability to Write News Text via Kompas TV Youtube Video for Class VIII Students of SMPN 3 Sungguminasa. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to write news text on YouTube Kompas TV videos for Grade VIII students of SMPN 3 Sungguminasa in terms of the structure and language rules of news. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. The method used in the writing test is to measure students' understanding of the main points of the news. The results of the study obtained the average value of the ability to write news text in the structural aspect, namely 70 which was categorized as sufficient. The average value of the ability to write news texts based on rules is 63 which is categorized as sufficient. This shows that the ability to write video news texts for Youtube Kompas TV Class VIII students of SMPN 3 Sungguminasa is in the quite capable category.

Abstract

This study aims: (1) Describe the results of learning to write news texts by applying the reciprocal learning model in cycle I for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bone-Bone; (2) Describe the results of learning to write news texts by applying the reciprocal learning model in cycle II for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bone-Bone. This research is a classroom action research. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in student learning activeness from cycle I to cycle II which also affects the increase in student learning outcomes. The results of increased learning in terms of the process are marked by an increase in student activity in implementing the results of observations of the activities of teachers and students in cycle I and students in cycle II. The improvement in terms of learning outcomes in writing news texts was marked by the average score of students in cycle I was 73, and the average value of students in cycle II was 84. Thus the application of the reciprocal learning model

Abstract

Representation of Feminism in the Novel Cantik Itu Luka by Eka Kurniawan (Roland Barthes's Semiotic Study). This research uses a qualitative descriptive method and aims to describe the meaning of denotation and connotation and the form of representation of feminism contained in the novel. The results of the study show that in general the meaning of denotation reveals the existence of Dewi Ayu and also other figures who live in the city of Halimunda which are very threatened as women because their existence is often underestimated. Meanwhile, the connotative meaning reveals the issue of gender treatment. In addition, the form of representation of feminism contained in the novel is shown by the behavior of men who often see women as beautiful image objects covered in sexual prowess. There are many loss events experienced by female characters in novels such as violence, subordination, marginalization, and sexual objectification.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of spelling, and diction in the preparation of editorial texts prepared by class XII students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study are students' editorial text writings that contain sentence errors in the editorial text structure, namely opinion statement, argumentation, and reaffirmation of opinion. The data source in this study is the results of students' editorial text writing. data analysis is done by data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study revealed that the analysis of students' editorial text preparation errors was found to be varied which included spelling errors, diction errors and paragraph errors. Spelling errors can be in the form of errors in the use of capital letters, the use of italics, writing derivative words, writing abbreviations and acronyms, using full stops, using commas, using dashes, and writing prepositions. Diction errors are in the form of word accuracy, word rigidity, word simplicity, and word prevalence. Paragraph Errors can be seen from the completeness of the paragraph.

Abstract

This study is a quantitative research with the aim to find out the significant influence between vocabulary mastery on news writing skills of Indonesian Language and Literature Education students, Faculty of Language and Literature, Makassar State University. The independent variable in this study is vocabulary mastery, while the dependent variable is news writing skills. The population in this study were 3 classes of Indonesian Language and Literature Education 2017 students totalling 102 people, while the sample was 72 students who had filled out the questionnaire. The research data were obtained by giving objective tests and work performance. The data analysis technique is by correlational analysis looking for the presence or absence of influence from the independent variable to the dependent variable. Based on the results of inferential statistical analysis of 0.455 with a significance level of 000. So there is a significant influence between vocabulary mastery on news writing skills.  Vocabulary mastery supports students' skills in processing information into news.
