Abstract

This research is a qualitative research with the aim of describing the types and meanings of presuppositions contained in the actors of the demands in the film Layangan Putus by Benni Setiawan. The research data is the story of the actors in the film Kite Disconnect. The source of the data in this study was the film Layangan Disconnect which was downloaded via the WeTV application. Data collection techniques are document techniques, observation, listening, and note taking. The results of the study show that the types and meanings of the presuppositions contained in the speech in the film Layangan Putus by Benni Setiawan are factual presuppositions stating the meaning of real information or a fact, non-active presuppositions stating meanings that are not true or unreal, counterfactual presuppositions stating the meaning of something that is wrong and contrary to reality, Existential presuppositions state the meaning of identity existence, structural presuppositions state the use of question words to state information that is considered true, and lexical presuppositions state implied or different meanings from what is said. dominant lexical presuppositions were found, while few counterfactual presuppositions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze women's resistance in the novel Nayla, which is studied using the theory of Marxist feminism. This research is descriptive and qualitative in nature. The results of this study are as follows: it found the efforts of women apart from every problem that shackles them. The reasons behind women's attitudes to reject and even rebel against male power are caused by education, understanding of the law, and the people around them. Forms of women's resistance, namely, the existence of women's rights to control their own bodies, the existence of complete equality in the legal, political, and social fields for women, the existence of women's rights to economic independence and equality, the rights of women to be free from violence and sexual exploitation, and challenging the oppression of human sexuality.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of conversational implicature contained in the novel KKN in Desa Penari by Simpleman. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study are texts (sentences containing special, general, and scaled conversational implicatures). The data collection technique was obtained using the method of reading and note-taking technique. The data analysis technique is by identifying, classifying, describing and analysing. The results showed that there are special, general, and scaled conversational implicatures in the novel KKN in Desa Penari by Simpleman. The conversational implicature includes (1) special conversational implicature means agreeing, asking, asserting, complaining, refusing, reporting, and ordering, (2) general conversational implicature means agreeing, asking, asserting, complaining, refusing, and reporting, (3) scaled conversational implicature uses the words all, many, some, always, often, and sometimes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to compile text structure and use linguistic rules in writing persuasive texts of Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Belopa. This research is quantitative, with a quantitative descriptive research type. This research involved Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Belopa, totaling 28 students. The data collection technique in this study used persuasive text-writing assignment techniques. alysis technique that will be used in this research is descriptive statistics. The data analysis techniquthe dataat will be used in thsthesearch is descriptive statistics. The results of data analysis showed that: The ability to 56.50,se text structure in writing percategory,text obtained an average score of 56.50 which was in the quite capable category and the ability t60.89, linguistic rules in writing persuasive text obtained an average score of 60.89 which was in the quite capable category. Thus, the ability to write persuasive texts ofcategory,IIIents of SMP Negeri 2 Belopa is classified in the quite capable category so that it needs to be improved again so that students' writing skills can develop.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and assessment of short story writing skills using the relay writing method in class IX students of SMP Negeri 17 Makassar. This research is a type of classroom action research. The subjects of this study were students of class IX.5 of SMP Negeri 17 Makassar. The class totaled 30 students, consisting of 17 boys and 13 girls. The data in this research are process data and outcome data. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis. . The results showed that there was a huge improvement from cycle I to cycle II. By applying the relay writing learning method, it can increase students' activeness and short story writing skills. Some of the factors behind the improvement of students' short story writing skills are that the relay writing learning method encourages students to be more active in the learning process because the relay writing learning method makes it easier for students to express their ideas.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the techniques of affiliator persuasive language in the Tiktok application and describe the function of affiliator persuasive language in the Tiktok application. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, data sources from the Tiktok application. The form of data in this study are sentences, phrases, and quotations in affiliator videos on the Tiktok application. The data collection techniques in this research are note-taking, reading, and documentation techniques. The data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that there are techniques of affiliator persuasive language in the Tiktok application that can be known, namely rationalisation, identification, suggestion, conformity, substitution and compensation. The functions of the affiliator's persuasive language on the Tiktok application found, namely to influence decisions and to change views.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' ability to analyze, evaluate, and create in reading texts of Indonesian language subjects of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Polut Takalar. This research is quantitative descriptive research. The data for this study were obtained from the test results of students' higher-order thinking skills using text-based HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions. The data was analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results showed that students' reading text-based higher-order thinking skills at the analyzing level obtained an average score of 55% in the moderate category. At the level of evaluation, students obtained an average score of 59.10%, which is a sufficient category. At the level of creating, students obtained an average score of 48.18% in the low category. Thus, students' higher-order thinking skills are still weak and need to be improved.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the use of the project-based learning model on the reading learning outcomes of Class IX students at SMPN 40 Makassar. This research is a type of quantitative research with an experimental research design. The sample in this study amounted to 32 students. The data collection technique in this study was a multiple choice test. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of data analysis showed that: (1) the reading ability before using the Project Based Learning model was categorised as poor with an average score of 50.93, (2) the reading ability after using the Project Based Learning model of class IX students of SMPI 40 Makassar was categorised as sufficient with an average score of 63.43 by obtaining an increase of 12.5, and (3) the results of hypothesis testing from the results of the analysis of students' pretest and posttest data showed that the results of t count ≥ t table, namely 9.153 > 2.042, it can be concluded that H1 is accepted, namely the Project Based Learning model is effectively applied in reading learning to students of class IX SMPI 40 Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of e-modules on the learning outcomes of writing descriptive texts in class VII UPT SMPN Satap Lebo No. 24 Kepulauan Selayar students. This research is a type of experimental research. The data in this study are quantitative data from the results of students' pretest and posttest. The sample in this study amounted to 20 students. The results of data analysis show that the results of hypothesis testing from the results of data analysis of students' pretests and posttests show that the results of t count ≥ t table, namely 6.469 ≥ 2.093, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted, namely the use of e-modules is effective in improving learning outcomes in writing descriptive texts of class VII UPT SMPN Satap Lebo No.24 Kepulauan Selayar students.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the poetry writing skills of students in class VIII.11 UPT SPF SMP Negeri 3 Makassar through acrostic techniques. This research uses a type of action research. The implementation of the action was carried out for two cycles, each ermine the improvement of students' writing skills, researchers used observation sheets and poetry writing tests for each cycle. consisting of two meetings. Each cycle went through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation. To determine the improvement of students' writing skills, researchers used observation sheets and poetry writing tests for eactotalingThe subjects in this study were students of class VIII.11 UPT SPF SMP Negerir in the academic year 2023/2024, totalling 34 students. The data analysis technique used was qualitative data analysis technique. Based on the results of the study, during the implementation of cycles I and II, the average score of students was 63.2 for cycle I and 78.8 foII,cycle II. In cycle I, there were 17 students who reached the criteria for achieving learning objectives (KKTP), while in cycle II there were 28 students who reached KKTP. The results showed that the application of the acrostic technique in the poetry learning process was able to improve poetry writing skills in students of class VIII.11 UPT SPF SMP Negeri 3 Makassar.
