Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of mentor language style in Zenius Education learning application. The research method used in the study is descriptive qualitative method. The data source is learning videos from Zenius Education application. The form of data in this research is in the form of sentence quotations from the speech of Zenius Education mentors. The collection techniques in this research are observation, documentation, and listening and recording. The data analysis technique carried out by the first researcher converts the data obtained into written form. The data that has been seen in the form of learning videos is then poured into writing. Then the researcher identifies the language style used in the video that has been seen. Finally, the researchers categorised the data through note-taking techniques and drew conclusions. The results show that in the learning videos in the Zenius Education application, the use of official and unofficial language styles is used only to show professionalism and emphasize certain things to form the focus of students in understanding the material while conversational language styles are mostly used in the learning process to create a more active classroom atmosphere.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the meaning of paqjappi used in Bugis traditional medicine in Panyula Village, Bone Regency, using Riffaterre's semiotic theory through hypograms. The type and design of this research are descriptive and qualitative. The data in this study are paqjappi used in traditional Bugis medicine in Panyula Village. Riffaterre's semiotic theory is used to dissect the paqjappi text to describe the meaning contained in paqjappi. The results of the analysis based on the hypogram of the paqjappi text found eight Islamic metaphorical paqjappi mantras, including the words Bismillahirahmanirahim, La Ilaha Illallah, Kun Fayakun, and Muhammadarrasulullah. This shows that the text has undergone a combination of Panyula community traditions and Islamic teachings. There are names in Paqjappi that have intermediaries or signs, namely, angel and prophet (Prophet Muhammad Saw). Angels and prophets (Prophet Muhammad Saw) are considered intermediaries in praying to Allah SWT. Then the paqjappi text expresses hope for healing.

Abstract

This research aims to describe nationalist values in the book Cerita dari Bumi Tipalayo (Collection of Fairy Tales) by Syuman Saeha and Hendra Djafar This research uses a type of qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The data collection technique used was reading and recording. The collected data were analysed including stages: data identification, data classification, data analysis, data description, and data interpretation. The results showed that there were 5 sub-values of nationalist character found in 10 stories in the story book from Bumi Tipalayo by Syuman Saeha and Hendra Djafard found. These sub-values are: respecting differences by prioritising tolerance, preserving the nation's cultural wealth, appreciating.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation process and learning assessment by applying Schramm's communication model in learning news text. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The focus of this research is the application of Schramm's communication model to VIII grade students in learning news texts at SMP Islam Bungoro and the assessment used in its application. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out in three stages, namely; observation, interview, and documentation. The research instruments used in this study are researchers who act as human instruments and auxiliary instruments in the form of observation sheets, interview guidelines and Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) instruments. The process of implementing learning by applying the Schramm communication model is carried out through two stages, namely planning and implementing learning. The results showed that the application of Schramm's communication model in learning was effective enough to be used in the learning process to further increase the intensity of communication between teachers and students. Learning assessment by applying the Schramm communication model to students includes four dimensions, namely KI-1 spiritual attitude, KI-2 social attitude, KI-3 knowledge, and KI-4 skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the character education values contained in the film Big Brother and the implementation of character education values for Indonesian language learning of grade XI students. This type of research is qualitative research. The data collected in this study are statements in the form of words, clauses, sentences that contain character education values in the film. The research data source is a film entitled Big Brother with a duration of 1 hour 41 minutes. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and direct observation. The data analysis that will be used by researchers in this study is content analysis, which is research conducted on information documented in recordings, whether in the form of images, sound, or writing. The results of the study revealed that the form of character education values found in the film Big Brother, including the value of honest character education, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, love for the country, friendly/communicative, peace-loving, fond of reading, social care, and responsibility. The film did not find the character education values of religious, tolerance, democracy, curiosity, national spirit, respect for achievement, and environmental care. The character education values found in the film Big Brother and relevant to the core competencies in Indonesian language learning at SMA Negeri 19 Bone include honesty, discipline, creativity, independence, social care, and responsibility.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of neighbourhood learning resources in learning to read. This research is included in quantitative research with the type of pre-experiment. The population in this study were Grade 2 students of SD Inpres Bontomarinra totalling 72 students. The sample in this study amounted to 16 students. The data collection technique in this study was in the form of a test. The collected data were analysed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.  The results showed that the application of environmental learning resources had an effect on the reading learning outcomes of Grade 2 students of SD Inpres Bontomarinra The description of the conclusion is as follows. The learning outcomes of recognising alphabetic letters before using environmental materials around Class 2 SD Inpres Bontomarinra students are categorised as less capable with an average score of 13.75. Learning outcomes of recognising alphabetic letters after using environmental materials around Class 2 SD Inpres Bontomarinra students are categorised as capable with an average score of 22.94.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the plot structure in the novel Pulang-Pergi by Tere Liye and its relevance to literature learning in junior high school. The research method the author uses is descriptive; the form of this research is qualitative; and it uses a structural approach. The results show that there is more than one conflict contained in the novel Pulang-Pergi by Tere Liye, namely the conflict between Bujang and his friends with Natascha and his troops on Bujang and Maria's wedding night due to Natascha's past grudges with Otets, with hitmen, and with military members. All these conflicts are reduced to one main conflict, namely the togetherness and trust of Bujang and his friends in fighting Natascha's cruelty. Furthermore, the main climax that is able to summarize the story structure is marked by the urgency and inability of the characters to fight Natascha, Black Widow, and Diego (Natascha's ally). The novel Pulang-Pergi by Tere Liye can be relevant in junior high school grade VIII in the independent

Abstract

This research aims to describe the form and function of slang in review text learning through talking stick model for students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The population in this study were all VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa including four classes. The data collection in this research used observation, interview, and simak catatat method. The data that has been collected in the form of student and teacher conversations in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa in learning review texts on the application of the talking stick model is then analysed qualitatively. The results showed that the forms of slang used by the students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa in the learning process of review texts that apply the talking stick learning model are acronyms, contractions, and the use of foreign/regional languages. Meanwhile, the function of slang is expression and familiarity whose use and placement are based on the right situation. The function of expression is not only through oral but must also be followed by body language that describes the speaker's feelings such as happy, sad, angry, surprised, afraid, and so on.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative research that aims to describe the types and functions of conjunctions in Indonesian language textbooks of class VII junior high school. This research is a type of qualitative research. The data in this research is in the form of conjunctions in sentences contained in Indonesian textbooks of class VII junior high school. The source of the data is the Indonesian language textbook of junior high school/MTs class VII published by the Ministry of Education and Culture revised edition 2017. The data were collected using documentation, reading technique, note-taking technique and classification. The results of this study show that there are four types of conjunctions in Indonesian textbooks of grade VII in junior high school, namely coordinative conjunctions, subordinative conjunctions, correlative conjunctions, and inter-sentence conjunctions. The function of using conjunctions is to connect words with words, words with phrases, phrases with phrases, phrases with clauses, clauses with clauses, clauses with sentences, and sentences with sentences.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the existence of women in the novel Re and Perempuan by Maman using the feminism theory approach. This research is qualitative descriptive. The data in this study comes from quotations in the novel related to women's existence. reading and note-taking techniques are applied in the data collection process. The reading technique is used to understand and interpret the content of the text, while the note-taking technique focuses on the female characters in the novel who experience various types of oppression and injustice. The results of this study are as follows: first, the presence of female characters. The female characters in this novel are women who eventually succeed and achieve the freedom they dream of, but are trapped in situations that limit them. Secondly, the life of women in society, prostitutes who are considered as the scum of society even though their existence is the result of the existing economic inequality. Third, women in education show that the social level of parents cannot be a benchmark for children's education. Melur, who was born from a prostitute, was able to get a PhD. The theory used in this research is Simmone de Beaouvier's existentialist feminism theory. Existentialist feminism examines how the existence of female characters in living their lives.
