Abstract

Pregnancy causes the mother's body to experience various physiological changes that increase the need for nutrients. One of the most common nutritional problems during pregnancy is anemia. Anemia in pregnancy has negative impacts on the mother, fetus, and newborn. Therefore, it is important for pregnant women to understand how to prevent and treat anemia early through ongoing health education. Health education is a highly effective promotive and preventive effort to improve individual and group health knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. The goal was to increase pregnant women's knowledge about anemia management in the third trimester as an effort to prepare for a healthy delivery. The methods used were counseling, discussion, question and answer sessions, and pre- and post-tests. There was an increase in pregnant women's knowledge, as evidenced by the number of pregnant women with good knowledge, increasing from 30% to 80% after receiving health education, a 50% increase. This increase indicates that the educational intervention provided was able to have a significant impact on increasing pregnant women's knowledge about anemia management in the third trimester as an effort to prepare for a healthy delivery

Abstract

This community engagement project aims to describe the empowerment of persons with disabilities through the downstreaming of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise) products in Wonogiri Regency. The primary issues identified include the low level of participation of persons with disabilities in productive economic activities and the suboptimal implementation of inclusive MSME downstreaming. The project employed the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The findings indicate that persons with disabilities possess significant potential to engage in various downstreaming stages, such as packaging, product finishing, basic design, and digital marketing. Nevertheless, structural, cultural, and technical barriers continue to impede their full integration. This project proposes an inclusive empowerment model based on MSME downstreaming that integrates competency-based training, continuous mentoring, adaptive facilities, and collaboration among MSMEs, local government, and disability communities. These findings are expected to serve as policy recommendations for strengthening inclusive economic development in Wonogiri Regency.

Abstract

South Papua Province, as the youngest province in Indonesia, receives significant Special Autonomy funds of IDR 790 billion annually. However, regional inequality remains a critical challenge with a Williamson Index of 0.42 (high category). Previous research identified that ineffective budget utilization stems from low budgetary participation, which significantly affects managerial performance (β = 0.462; R² = 66.2%). This community service aimed to disseminate research findings on budgetary participation as a key to managerial performance and regional inequality reduction strategy to structural officials managing Special Autonomy funds. The activity employed a Community-Based Education approach combined with Research Dissemination and Knowledge Transfer strategy, involving 25 participants from various Regional Government Agencies in Merauke Regency on December 15, 2024. The dissemination included four interactive sessions: research findings presentation, group discussions with case studies, strategic recommendations, and commitment building. Evaluation results demonstrated exceptional achievement, with an average satisfaction score of 4.33 out of 5 (exceeding the 4.0 target) and 84.7% of participants committed to implementing participatory budgeting principles (exceeding the 70% target). This activity serves as a catalyst for fundamental transformation of the budgeting system from top-down to participatory model, contributing to regional inequality reduction through improved managerial performance and effective development program execution in South Papua.

Abstract

Grace convection is a garment manufacturing business in Denpasar that uses a manual ordering process. Problems arising from this manual process are often time-consuming and prone to missed orders. This community service program aims to improve digital marketing while streamlining the ordering process for easier monitoring by partners. The method used in implementing this service is Participatory Action Research, which begins with a survey, FGDs, and then implementing a website as a marketing and ordering medium. The results of the activity indicate that partners have established a business profile website and catalog. Partners can understand the ordering process, starting with preparing more consistent digital content to support digital channels. Through this system, ordering becomes more structured and the capacity of partners in managing activity content is maximized, strengthening Grace convection's readiness to expand its market segmentation reach.

Abstract

Bonjeruk Tourism Village in Central Lombok is rich in local biodiversity, including citronella (Cymbopogon citratus) and coconut-based products (VCO), which have high potential as herbal tourism commodities. However, the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) has not yet optimized these natural resources into standardized products. This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of Pokdarwis through training on the production of standardized herbal anti-mosquito and UV-protective lotion. The activities included education on herbal formulation, hands-on production training, SOP development, branding, and introduction of product legality. A total of 22 participants attended the program. Pre- and post-assessment showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, particularly regarding the benefits of herbal ingredients (from 45.45% to 68.18% in the “strongly agree” category), hygiene practices (13.64% to 40.91%), and confidence in independently producing herbal lotion (18.18% to 50%). Following the completion of the program, the Pokdarwis Bonjeruk and community members were able to independently conduct mass production of two raw materials (Virgin Coconut Oil/VCO and citronella oil) and herbal lotion. The products are actively used by local farmers and gardeners for daily outdoor activities, particularly for protection against ultraviolet exposure and mosquito bites. Furthermore, the products have been commercialized and sold to both domestic and international tourists. Positive feedback from foreign tourists indicates strong acceptance of the products’ aroma, texture, and perceived benefits
