Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual model of Islamic economic character education based on the integration of positive psychology and maqasid al-shariah theories. The main problem addressed concerns how PERMA, PROSPER, PRIMED, and maqasid al-shariah can be integrated into a comprehensive character education system to cultivate a morally conscious economic character through daily charity activities in secondary schools. A conceptual literature study was conducted using thematic analysis guided by Creswell and qualitative data analysis techniques from Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The analysis resulted in the integrative P3M model (PERMA–PROSPER–PRIMED–Maqasid) that explains the mechanism for developing spiritual-social economic character, referred to as the Altruistic Flourishing Economic Character . This model represents a theoretical novelty by bridging Western perspectives on psychological well-being with Islamic ethics of public good. The study contributes to strengthening economic character education in schools and supports the achievement of SDG 4 (quality education) and SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production).

Abstract

This study aims to pinpoint the fundamental challenges encountered by a beauty clinic in Jakarta and develop an appropriate business strategy through qualitative research methods. Data were gathered via in-depth interviews with 15 participants, consisting of 10 active clients, 5 inactive clients, 3 therapists, and 1 operational manager, complemented by participatory field observations conducted over a three-month period. The findings revealed four primary issues: inconsistent service quality, weak brand identity and differentiation, inadequate digital marketing strategies, and the absence of a customer loyalty system. In response to these findings, a business plan was formulated encompassing service standardization, brand repositioning, enhanced digital marketing optimization, and the creation of customer retention programs. This research underscores the significance of employing qualitative approaches to comprehend consumer expectations and formulate experience-driven service business development strategies. The implications of this study provide practical guidance for beauty clinic managers in designing customer-centric business models and offer methodological contributions to qualitative research applications in service industry contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the financial ramifications of corporate downsizing on Meta Platforms Inc., focusing on the timeframe from 2018 to 2025, which includes the company's rapid growth and the ensuing "Year of Efficiency" layoffs commencing in late 2022. The study uses a quantitative approach, looking at changes in key financial and operational factors before and after the downsizing intervention. It does this by using Interrupted Time Series Analysis (ITSA) and multiple regression models on quarterly data. There is a lot going on with this "ripple effect." On the one hand, cutting back on staff and costs helped profits and efficiency a lot in the short run. Some numbers, like Return on Assets (ROA) and Operating Margin (OPM), went up after the company was slashed. Operating Income per Employee (OIPE) also went up. This means that employees made more money, mostly because costs were cut. On the other hand, the plan made it harder to get work done. Sales per Employee (SPE) steadily went down, which shows that fewer workers hurt production and may have hurt employee happiness. Also, cutting back on staff did not have a big effect on Return on Equity (ROE) or the Operating Cash Flow to Assets ratio (OCF). This means that laying off workers did not instantly increase short-term liquidity or returns for shareholders. Even when internal variables like R&D intensity and leverage and external macroeconomic factors like GDP growth and inflation were considered, these results stayed the same.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Digital Transformational Leadership (DTL), Learning Organization (LO), Supportive Work Environment (SWE), and Organizational Commitment (OC) on Turnover Intention (IT) at PT XYZ. Respondents in this study were employees from Generation Z, worked in the IT division, and had a minimum of one year of service. Data were collected through a questionnaire using the judgemental sampling method, with a sample of 172 respondents out of a minimum calculation of 142 based on the Krejcie & Morgan formula. The collected data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results of the study show that Digital Transformational Leadership has a significant negative influence on Turnover Intention, as well as a significant positive influence on Learning Organization and Organizational Commitment. Learning Organization also has a significant negative effect on Turnover Intention and a significant positive effect on Organizational Commitment. Meanwhile, Supportive Work Environment (SWE) has a significant negative effect on Turnover Intention and a significant positive effect on Organizational Commitment. These findings affirm the importance of Digital Transformational leadership, a learning culture, and a supportive work environment in increasing organizational commitment and reducing the desire to change jobs in young employees in the technology field.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of intrinsic motivation (IM), self efficacy (SE), and organization climate (OC) on job performance (JP) mediated by work engagement (WE) and job satisfaction (JS). The method used is quantitative with saturated sampling, data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with 43 respondents. The results showed that intrinsic motivation, self efficacy, organization climate had a positive effect on job performance, and intrinsic motivation and self efficacy had a positive effect on work engagement. Organization climate and work engagement had a positive effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction and work engagement had a positive effect on job performance. The strongest mediation path analysis occurs in the relationship between intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction through work engagement, and also intrinsic motivation to job performance through work engagement which also shows a significant influence. The results of this study provide useful insights for organizations, where the main focus is directed at increasing self-efficacy and job satisfaction, while factors that have shown good performance such as intrinsic motivation, organizational climate and work engagement must still be maintained to maintain optimal organizational performance as a whole.

Abstract

Judicial corruption within the Indonesian judiciary represents a profound moral crisis that undermines public trust in legal institutions. This study examines the Bandung District Court Decision Number 23/Pid.Sus-TPK/2023/PN.Bdg against Sudrajad Dimyati, a Supreme Court justice convicted of bribery, through the lens of Immanuel Kant's moral philosophy. Rather than employing conventional legal-formal analysis, this research adopts a deontological ethical approach to evaluate whether the court's verdict fulfilled substantive justice principles. The research investigates two primary questions: (1) Whether the judicial decision satisfies Kantian principles of justice regarding universality, respect for dignity, moral autonomy, and procedural fairness; and (2) How Kant's moral philosophy can inform the development of judicial professional ethics codes in Indonesian courts. This qualitative investigation employs document analysis and philosophical content analysis of the case decision and relevant moral philosophy literature. Findings demonstrate that while the verdict adhered to formal positive law requirements, significant tensions emerged regarding consistency of legal precedent when the appellate court reduced sentences based on humanitarian grounds. Most critically, the institutional system has not yet internalized moral autonomy and universal ethical principles as foundational to judicial governance. This research concludes that implementing four Kantian principles—universality, respect for dignity, moral autonomy, and procedural justice—establishes essential foundations for deontological ethics-based institutional reform of the Indonesian judicial system.

Abstract

The rising involvement of Generation Z in the banking sector introduces new challenges regarding work-life balance (WLB). This generation places strong emphasis on flexibility, mental well-being, and a healthy balance between personal life and work, while the banking industry is characterized by high pressure, long working hours, and hierarchical structures. This study aims to explore how Generation Z employees at Bank BRI Regional Office Semarang perceive work-life balance, the obstacles they encounter, and the strategies they employ to maintain balance. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with five Generation Z employees and two managerial informants for triangulation. The findings reveal that Gen Z interprets WLB not only as time allocation, but also psychological involvement, emotional satisfaction, and the ability to manage boundaries between work and personal life, aligned with the principles of Border Theory. Key barriers identified include extended working hours, significant overtime demands, mechanistic organizational culture, and limited schedule flexibility. Despite these challenges, Gen Z employees adopt several strategies such as effective time management, priority setting, assertive communication, and reliance on social support and digital tools for self-recovery. The study provides theoretical contributions by extending the application of Border Theory to the context of Gen Z in Indonesia’s banking industry and practical contributions by offering recommendations for designing adaptive work policies that enhance the well-being and retention of young employees.

Abstract

The Russia-Ukraine conflict is not only taking place on the battlefield, but also developing into a narrative battle in the digital space. Digital diplomacy has become a strategic instrument for Ukraine in shaping international public opinion, mobilizing global support, and countering Russian disinformation during the period 2014–2022. This research aims to analyze the role, strategy, and effectiveness of Ukraine's digital diplomacy from the annexation of Crimea to the full-scale invasion in 2022. Through a descriptive-qualitative approach, this study examines the digital communication practices of the Ukrainian government, in particular the use of social media by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, crowdsourced campaigns such as UNITED24, as well as collaborations with global civil networks and the OSINT community. The findings of the study show that Ukraine's personalized, decentralized, and participatory communication model has succeeded in building international solidarity more effectively than Russia's strategy that relies on centralized disinformation and bot networks. Ukraine's digital diplomacy is also capable of converting soft power into significant political, military, and humanitarian support from various countries and international organizations. Thus, digital diplomacy has proven to be Ukraine's main tool for maintaining legitimacy, strengthening bargaining positions, as well as protecting national interests in asymmetric conflicts with Russia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Lentera Disabilitas program at the Banjarbaru Land Office as an example of inclusive public service focused on serving citizens and advancing the public interest. The program aims to enhance accessibility for persons with disabilities by providing disability-friendly facilities such as ramps, inclusive waiting rooms, special service counters, and multilingual service materials. It also emphasizes a cultural shift toward empathetic and respectful service behavior. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with an internal staff member (whose identity is anonymized upon request), direct observation, and document analysis. The findings show that the program enhances employee participation, fosters humanistic service values, and strengthens public trust, particularly among persons with disabilities. However, challenges remain, including the need for more trained staff and strengthened infrastructure. The program offers important lessons on the role of empathy, collaboration, and responsiveness in building inclusive public services.
