Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of motivation in the relationship between organisational culture, work discipline, leadership style, and employee performance at the Central Bureau of Statistics of South Sumatra Province. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving state civil servants as respondents. Data were analysed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that organisational culture, work discipline, and leadership style influenced motivation. Furthermore, organisational culture, work discipline, leadership style, and motivation also influenced employee performance. Motivation partially mediated the relationship between organisational culture and employee performance, as well as between work discipline and employee performance. It also partially mediated the relationship between leadership style and employee performance. These findings confirm that the integration of a healthy organisational culture, consistent work discipline, and an effective leadership style is a key factor in building a productive work environment and supporting continuous employee performance improvement.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has reshaped the global banking industry, including Islamic banking, which faces unique challenges in balancing efficiency with ethical principles. This study investigates the impact of digital transformation on operational efficiency and profitability in Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) during 2022–2024. The purpose is to evaluate how technology investment and digital adoption influence cost structures and financial performance in the context of Islamic banking. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach with a case study design, the research utilizes secondary data from audited annual financial statements. The analysis focuses on three key indicators: operational efficiency measured by BOPO and Cost to Income Ratio (CIR), digitalization assessed through the growth of mobile banking transactions, and profitability evaluated via net profit. The findings reveal a significant escalation in technology investment, accompanied by rapid adoption of digital services and a marked shift in customer behavior toward electronic transactions. These developments contributed to a consistent decline in BOPO, stable CIR levels, and steady growth in net profit. From a theoretical perspective, digitalization not only enhances efficiency and reduces monitoring costs but also aligns with maqasid al-shariah by promoting resource optimization and financial inclusivity. In conclusion, digital transformation emerges as a strategic driver that strengthens competitiveness, supports sustainable growth, and reinforces the ethical foundation of Islamic banking.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the direct influence of patient-centered Care on patient behavioral intentions, the direct influence of patient-centered Care on patient trust, the direct influence of patient trust on patient behavioral intentions, and the role of patient trust as a mediating variable in the relationship between patient-centered Care and patient behavioral intentions at Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Hospital. The research method uses a quantitative correlational approach. Data were collected through questionnaires to outpatients and inpatients of Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Hospital and analyzed using statistical tests to test the direct influence and role of mediation. The results of the study show that Patient-centered Care has a direct positive effect on patient behavioral intentions and patient trust at Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Hospital. Patient trust also has a direct positive influence on the patient's behavioral intentions, which is reflected in the patient's increased tendency to make repeat visits and make recommendations. Patient trust has been proven to mediate the influence of patient-centered Care on patient behavioral intentions, so that patient-oriented services not only have a direct impact on behavioral intentions, but are also strengthened through the formation of trust. These findings show that consistent implementation of patient-centered Care plays a role in building patient trust and encouraging positive behavioral intentions towards hospital services.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) in Indonesia has driven significant transformation in the state administrative system, particularly in the implementation of digital-based public services. This study aims to analyze the role of the state administrative system in improving the quality of public services in the digital era, as well as to identify the challenges and solutions encountered. The method used is a library research approach by examining various relevant scientific literature sources, such as journals, books, official reports, and applicable regulations. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of digital technology through the concept of e-government is able to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, transparency, and accountability of public services. This is reflected in the increasing use of digital services by the public, along with improvements in a more modern and structured bureaucratic system. However, the implementation of digitalization still faces several challenges, including infrastructure gaps, limited human resource competencies, and the lack of optimal integration between government systems. Therefore, strengthening the state administrative system is necessary through improving the quality of human resources, developing technological infrastructure, and formulating adaptive policies to support the success of digital transformation in public service delivery.

Abstract

The culinary industry in the modern era is characterized by hyper-competition, often leading business practitioners to prioritize short-term profitability over ethical considerations, which results in deceptive marketing practices. This study aims to analyze the dialectical relationship between profitability and business morality by examining the marketing strategies of the Pagi Sore eatery in Talang Babat from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. Employing a descriptive-qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, passive participant observation, and documentation studies, subsequently analyzed using an interactive model of data reduction and inductive reasoning. The results demonstrate that the eatery successfully internalizes prophetic values shiddiq (truthfulness), amanah (trustworthiness), fathanah (wisdom), and tabligh (advocacy) into its marketing mix, particularly through halalan thoyyiban product assurance and transparent pricing. Crucially, the findings reveal a "Location Paradox," where the consistent application of Sharia principles serves as a potent moderating variable that neutralizes geographical disadvantages and fosters organic consumer loyalty through integrity-based competitive advantage. This study concludes that Islamic business ethics is not merely a normative religious obligation but a sophisticated strategic asset that ensures long-term business resilience and profitability. By transforming locational challenges into market strengths, this research provides a replicable framework for small-scale enterprises to harmonize ethical integrity with commercial success in a saturated market.

Abstract

The high unemployment rate in Indonesia is a problem that has a wide impact on the social and economic conditions of the community. The increase in the number of labor forces that is not balanced with the availability of jobs requires strategic efforts from the government, one of which is through the implementation of job training programs. This program not only aims to improve the competence of the workforce, but is also a form of public service that must be carried out in a quality manner. This research aims to analyze the quality of public services in the implementation of job training programs at the Dumai City Manpower Office. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and documentation. The analysis was carried out using the SERVQUAL concept which includes five dimensions, namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The results of the study show that the quality of public services in job training programs in general is in the category of quite good. The aspects of reliability, responsiveness, and assurance show good performance, characterized by the implementation of structured programs, the suitability of training materials with the needs of the job market, and the competence of instructors who provide quality assurance of training. However, in the aspect of tangibles and empathy, obstacles are still found, especially the limited facilities and training capacity that have not been able to reach all job seekers, so that it has an impact on uneven access to services. Thus, it can be concluded that even though the job training program has been run in accordance with procedures, the quality of services provided still needs to be improved, especially in terms of equitable access and optimization of training capacity, in order to provide wider benefits to the community.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the conceptual framework of money in Islamic economics through a comparative analysis of classical and contemporary literature. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, analyzing classical works of prominent scholars such as Al-Ghazali and Ibn Khaldun, alongside contemporary contributions from modern Islamic economists. The data are examined through descriptive-analytical and comparative techniques to identify continuity, divergence, and transformation in the conceptualization of money. The findings reveal that both classical and modern Islamic scholars consistently reject the commodification of money and emphasize its functional role in facilitating real economic activities. Classical literature highlights moral restrictions, including the prohibition of riba, hoarding (ikhtikar), and speculative practices, while modern literature extends these principles into discussions on monetary reform, financial instruments, and alignment with maqasid al-shariah. This study contributes by offering a conceptual synthesis that bridges classical foundations with contemporary economic challenges, providing a more integrated theoretical framework for Islamic monetary thought. The implications suggest the need for reorientation of modern financial systems toward ethical, justice-oriented, and stability-driven principles as advocated in Islamic economics

Abstract

This study is motivated by the inconsistency of employee performance despite the relatively good public service quality at the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP) of Padang Panjang City. Service quality serves as a key indicator in licensing and administrative services; however, it does not fully reflect consistent individual performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality on employee performance and examine the role of job satisfaction as a moderating variable. This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal design and is analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The population consists of all employees of DPMPTSP Padang Panjang City, with a census technique involving 33 respondents. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that service quality has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a path coefficient of 0.662 and p-value < 0.05. However, job satisfaction does not have a significant effect on employee performance and does not moderate the relationship between service quality and employee performance. These findings suggest that employee performance is more influenced by organizational structural factors, such as regulations, service standards, and work systems, than by individual psychological factors. The study implies that improving service quality is the primary strategy to enhance employee performance, while job satisfaction remains important as a supporting factor in maintaining motivation and productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Financial Knowledge, Financial Skill, Financial Attitude, and Time Preference on Intention to Invest with Perceived Risk as a moderating variable. The study was conducted on employees of Hospital X in Tangerang with a sample of 190 respondents. The post-COVID-19 pandemic conditions have driven changes in individual financial behavior, particularly in financial management and investment decision-making. This study used a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The results showed that Financial Knowledge, Financial Skill, Financial Attitude, and Time Preference significantly influenced Intention to Invest. In addition, Perceived Risk was proven to moderate the relationship between Financial Skill and Intention to Invest, but was unable to moderate the relationship between Financial Knowledge, Financial Attitude, and Time Preference on Intention to Invest. This study contributes to the development of financial behavior and investment literature, particularly regarding the role of financial knowledge, financial skills, financial attitudes, time preferences, and risk perception in shaping individual investment intentions. The findings of this study are also expected to form the basis for developing financial education and literacy to increase public participation in investment activities.
