Abstract

This study examines the psychological dimensions of the main character, Kinan, in the novel Layangan Putus by Mommy ASF, through the lens of Freudian psychoanalysis, particularly the constructs of the id, ego, and superego. The research addresses three main questions: (1) How are the id, ego, and superego manifested in Kinan’s character? (2) What psychological problems are portrayed in Kinan’s character? (3) How are defense mechanisms employed by Kinan to cope with internal conflicts? This research adopts a qualitative approach using content analysis. The primary data source is the first edition of the novel published by RDM Publisher in 2020. Data were collected through written documentation and analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The findings reveal that Kinan’s character reflects a conflicted id marked by discomfort and unmet needs, an ego dominated by anger, and a superego with high personal moral standards. Five major psychological issues were identified: mood disorders (sadness, anger, disappointment), anxiety, stress, somatoform disorders, and personality disorders (including borderline, obsessive-compulsive, histrionic, narcissistic, and adventitious types). These disorders are further explored through her coping strategies and psychological defense mechanisms, illustrating the complex internal struggles she experiences. The study concludes that Kinan's psychological turmoil serves as a central force driving the narrative conflict.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the motivation and learning outcomes of students with the application of the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model on human respiratory system material at MAT Daarut Tahfizh Al-Ikhlas. This study used a true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group type of research. Class XI-3 as the experimental class used the Jigsaw model, while class XI-2 as the control class used conventional learning. Data collection techniques were carried out through motivation questionnaires and learning outcomes tests, then analyzed by independent sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in student motivation and learning outcomes in the experimental class. The average N-Gain value of the experimental class was 0.72 (high category), while the control class was 0.43 (medium category). The students' learning motivation score in the experimental class also reached the “very high” category. Thus, the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model proved effective in improving students' motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of management functions in the administration of the library at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Hidayatullah Tanjung Morawa, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors within the process. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving school principals, librarians, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that the core management functions—planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising—have been implemented in library management, although improvements are still needed. Key supporting factors include the involvement of the foundation, local community, and regional government, which play a significant role in optimizing library services. A notable contribution of this study is the active synergy between the school and its surrounding environment in promoting a literacy culture through initiatives such as mobile libraries and village-based libraries. This distinguishes the research from prior studies that focused primarily on internal school dynamics without acknowledging the tangible contributions of external stakeholders. Furthermore, the school’s strategic plans to expand library facilities and enhance librarian competencies demonstrate a sustained commitment to strengthening school-based literacy management.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize students' ability to read news texts by developing teaching materials based on the Lumio application. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D development model proposed by Thiagarajan (1974) as cited in Sugiyono (2020). The research population comprised 425 students at SMA Negeri 13 Medan, with a purposive sample of 36 students from class XI-11. Data were collected through questionnaires and expert validations, incorporating both qualitative feedback and quantitative scores. Validation results from material experts indicated feasibility with scores of 85% and 95%, while media experts yielded 98% and 92%. These results demonstrate that the developed teaching materials are highly suitable for classroom implementation. The product trial at SMA Negeri 13 Medan showed a teacher response rate of 94%. Student response data from the product trial reached 88.83%, categorized as "Very Effective." These findings suggest that the news text teaching materials assisted by the Lumio application are both highly feasible and effective for use in high school learning environments.

Abstract

This study explores the development, validation, feasibility, and effectiveness of an evaluation tool assisted by the Blooket application for teaching fairy tale texts in Grade X of Sekolah Menengah Atas. Conducted at Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 13 Medan, the research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, encompassing the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study involved 427 students, with a purposive sampling technique used to select a sample of 35 students. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. The developed evaluation tool integrates gamification through the Blooket platform. Validation results from material experts reached 92% and 85% from Validators I and II, respectively, while design expert validations scored 91% and 87%. These results confirm the tool's high feasibility and effectiveness. In trials conducted with Class X-12, teacher satisfaction reached 94%, and student responses—based on questionnaires—were 92%, categorized as “Very Effective.” These findings affirm that the Blooket-assisted evaluation tool significantly enhances student engagement and comprehension. In conclusion, the developed tool is highly effective and suitable for implementing evaluation in literature learning, particularly in teaching narrative texts like fairy tales.

Abstract

This study investigates the development, feasibility, and effectiveness of instructional media utilizing Movie Maker software to support the teaching of drama material for eleventh-grade students at SMK Madani Marindal I. Employing the ADDIE development model—comprising Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—the research involved a total population of 46 students, with a purposive sample of 22 participants. The findings indicate that the developed media was deemed suitable for instructional use. Evaluations by media experts revealed a "Very Feasible" score of 89% and a "Feasible" score of 81.3%. Assessments by material experts yielded "Feasible" ratings of 83.3% and 78.6%, respectively. Additionally, feedback from an Indonesian language teacher rated the product as "Very Feasible" with a score of 93.3%. Field trials involving 22 students from the XI TBSM and OTKP classes reported a "Feasible" result with an overall percentage of 77.36%. These results affirm the practicality and relevance of Movie Maker-assisted learning media in enhancing student engagement and comprehension in drama instruction.
