The journal accommodates a broad scope of primary education, such as Elementary School or Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Kindergarten Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, and other primary education institutions, both formal and non-formal. Abstract

This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, aiming to uncover the reality of the influence of school facilities and infrastructure on enhancing the learning motivation of fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri 104202 Bandar Setia, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research subjects consisted of 30 fifth-grade students, and the study was conducted over six sessions. The benchmarks in this research include the availability of standard educational facilities such as classrooms, sports areas, worship spaces, libraries, laboratories, playgrounds, and other learning resources that support the learning process, including the use of information and communication technology. Hypothesis testing results show that the calculated r-value (rtcount) = 0.484 is greater than the r-value from the r-distribution table (rtable) = 0.361 with a 5% significance level (rttable < rcount). This indicates that H1 is accepted, confirming a significant influence of school facilities and infrastructure on increasing the learning motivation of fifth-grade students at the mentioned school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the guided inquiry method on science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 101928 Rantau Panjang. The background of this research is based on the low science learning outcomes of students, which is attributed to the use of conventional teaching methods that do not actively engage students in the learning process. The main research question is: Does the implementation of the guided inquiry method improve students' science learning outcomes? This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consists of 40 students, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data collection was conducted through learning outcome tests before and after the intervention, and the data were analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that students who learned through the guided inquiry method had a significant improvement in their science learning outcomes compared to those taught through conventional methods. The t-test results indicated a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, meaning the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the guided inquiry method is effective in enhancing science learning outcomes for fifth-grade students.

Abstract

This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, aiming to reveal the real conditions of a specific social phenomenon. The study focused on examining the influence of school facilities and infrastructure on enhancing learning motivation among fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri 104202 Bandar Setia, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang Regency. The research involved 30 students as participants and was conducted over six meetings. The analysis considered the availability of educational facilities such as classrooms, sports areas, places of worship, libraries, laboratories, and other essential resources, including the use of information and communication technology, in supporting the learning process. Hypothesis testing revealed that the correlation coefficient (r) from the calculations (0.484) exceeded the critical value from the r distribution table (0.361), with a significance level of 5%. This indicates a positive and significant effect of school facilities and infrastructure on increasing student learning motivation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) The Indonesian language learning outcomes of students using the conventional teaching model at UPT SPF SD Negeri 106800, 2) The learning outcomes of students using the CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) learning model at UPT SPF SD Negeri 106800, 3) The influence of the CIRC learning model on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri 106800. This study is a quantitative experimental research using a quasi-experimental design (non-equivalent control group design) involving pretest and posttest activities. The research was conducted in two classes: the experimental class (Class IV-A with 15 students) and the control class (Class IV-B with 15 students). The findings indicate a significant effect of the CIRC learning model on student learning outcomes. The average learning outcome for students using the CIRC model was 83.33, while those using the conventional model scored 76.33. The results of the t-test showed Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05), indicating that the CIRC learning model significantly improves Indonesian language learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Mind Mapping learning model on the academic performance of fifth-grade students at SDN 101742 Hamparan Perak. The research focuses on comparing the effectiveness of the Mind Mapping model used in the experimental class with the conventional learning model applied in the control class. The study involved a total of 62 students, with 33 students in class Va and 29 students in class Vb. A quasi-experimental design was employed, and the data were analyzed using the Polled Variance formula. The results indicated a significant difference in student learning outcomes between the two groups. The t-count value was 6.121, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.67 at a 5% significance level, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Additionally, the N-Gain value of 0.49 demonstrates a medium improvement in learning outcomes for the experimental group, confirming the effectiveness of the Mind Mapping model compared to the conventional approach.

Abstract

Mathematics learning aims not only to enhance numeracy skills but also to develop logical and analytical thinking abilities essential for problem-solving in various fields, including science, technology, and economics. However, its abstract nature often makes it challenging for students to comprehend. Therefore, effective learning strategies and approaches are crucial to achieving educational objectives. This study explores diverse mathematics learning strategies to improve learning effectiveness, focusing on organizing, delivering, and managing instruction. Additionally, it examines both teacher- and student-centered approaches, as well as contextual and thematic methods that foster a more engaging and meaningful learning environment. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, gathering and analyzing data from various relevant sources. The findings suggest that selecting appropriate learning strategies and approaches can enhance student engagement and learning outcomes, ultimately fostering creative, critical, and analytical thinking skills crucial for real-life applications.

Abstract

Mathematics plays a strategic role in developing logical, analytical, and critical thinking skills that support various scientific fields. However, students often perceive mathematics as a difficult subject, necessitating an effective learning approach grounded in established learning theories. This study aims to analyze the evolution of learning theories—including behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism, and social learning—and their applications in mathematics education, while also providing recommendations for effective learning strategies. Using a qualitative literature review approach, this research examines data from various academic sources. The findings indicate that each learning theory has strengths and limitations: behaviorist theory effectively trains basic skills, cognitive theory enhances conceptual understanding, constructivist theory enables students to build knowledge through direct experience, and social learning theory underscores the importance of interaction and collaboration. This study suggests integrating multiple learning theories to enhance students' comprehension, motivation, and engagement in mathematics. Additionally, it emphasizes the need for teacher training to ensure the effective application of these theories in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' cognitive abilities through the implementation of the parliamentary session simulation method in Class XI MIPA 1 at MAN Insan Cendekia Pasuruan. The cognitive abilities in focus include critical and logical thinking skills. The study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The data source consists of students from Class XI MIPA 1 at MAN Insan Cendekia Pasuruan. The learning process was enhanced through engaging activities using parliamentary session simulation media tailored to the learning theme. The findings indicate that this method effectively improves students' critical and logical thinking skills, as evidenced by observational data collected during learning activities. In the first cycle, the learning improvement rate reached 50%, while in the second cycle, it increased to 82.05%, surpassing the research success indicator of 80%. These results suggest that the parliamentary session simulation method can serve as an alternative instructional approach to enhance students' cognitive abilities in critical and logical thinking.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping students' character, morals, and spirituality, necessitating appropriate teaching methods to achieve optimal learning outcomes. Teachers must select instructional strategies that align with students' needs to foster an engaging and effective learning environment. One such method is the scramble learning method, which was implemented in this Classroom Action Research (CAR) study conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Tambusai Utara for Phase F students. This research employed a qualitative descriptive field study approach, utilizing observations, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the scramble method was effective, following the prescribed stages. This method created a dynamic and enjoyable learning atmosphere, enhancing student engagement, reducing fatigue, and increasing participation. Consequently, students remained attentive and motivated, leading to optimal learning outcomes. These results underscore the effectiveness of interactive and engaging teaching methods in Islamic Religious Education, emphasizing the need for teachers to adopt innovative approaches that align with contemporary pedagogical needs.

Abstract

Mathematics plays a crucial role in fostering logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills essential for various scientific disciplines. However, many students perceive mathematics as a challenging subject, highlighting the need for effective pedagogical approaches rooted in established learning theories. This study examines the development of learning theories—behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism, and social learning—and their applications in mathematics education while proposing strategies for effective instruction. Employing a qualitative literature review approach, this research synthesizes data from various academic sources. The findings reveal that each learning theory offers distinct advantages: behaviorism is effective for skill acquisition and reinforcement, cognitivism enhances conceptual understanding, constructivism facilitates knowledge construction through active engagement, and social learning theory underscores the significance of interaction and collaboration. The study advocates for an integrative approach that combines multiple learning theories to improve students’ comprehension, motivation, and engagement in mathematics. Furthermore, it emphasizes the necessity of continuous teacher training to ensure the effective implementation of these theories in the classroom, ultimately fostering a more interactive and student-centered learning environment.
