Abstract

The aim of this research is to enhance learning outcomes in short story material through scientific learning for Class IX students at SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru. Action Research methodology is employed, comprising two cycles: Planning, Implementation, Observation, and Reflection. The findings suggest effective strategies to elevate learning outcomes in short story material through scientific learning for Class IX students at SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru. Recommendations include encouraging teachers facing similar challenges to adopt Scientific Learning methods for improved outcomes and enhancing engagement by diversifying scientific learning approaches. This research contributes to the discourse on innovative teaching methodologies and underscores the importance of dynamic pedagogical approaches in optimizing student learning experiences.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of the inquiry learning method employing the "copy the master" technique in enhancing short story writing skills among class XII students at the Agricultural Vocational School. The study employs action research methodology and involves class XII ATP-1, comprising 36 students. Findings reveal that the inquiry method, utilizing the "copy the master" technique, significantly improves short story writing abilities. Results from cycle I and II show an increase from an average score of 77.89 to 81.89, indicating a 4% improvement. The inquiry learning process involves steps such as reading the model writing, analyzing its content and form, creating a writing framework based on the model, and practicing writing by emulating the framework, ideas, or writing techniques from the model. This approach demonstrates promising potential for enhancing students' writing proficiency, offering valuable insights for educators seeking effective strategies to foster writing skills in vocational education settings.

Abstract

The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of GI learning in enhancing science learning outcomes for ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Tapung Hulu. Conducted through Classroom Action Research (PTK) in two cycles, the research involved stages of action planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Participants included 35 ninth-grade students during the 2019/2020 academic year, with collaborative efforts from science teachers. Data collection involved observation, evaluation, documentation, and interviews. Findings indicate that GI learning positively impacts science learning outcomes, as evidenced by increased student engagement and achievement. In the first cycle, 25.6% of students showed improved competencies in living things classification, with 74.4% achieving completeness. The second cycle saw further improvements, with only 12.8% not reaching completeness and 87.2% exceeding 75% completeness. Student discussion activities notably increased, attributed to positive responses towards tasks. It is recommended for teachers to foster a culture of curiosity and creativity to enhance learning experiences. The author welcomes feedback to enhance the report's quality, acknowledging potential areas for improvement.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve teacher performance, student engagement, and learning outcomes in Thematic Short Dance for third-grade students at SD 010 Sei Simpang Dua. Twenty-six students from SD Negeri Kalibatur in the academic year 2021/2022 participated in the two-cycle research, involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In that academic year, students' learning outcomes were hindered by a teacher-centered approach, limiting their creativity and engagement. To address this, the teacher implemented a field trip method in Thematic Short Dance. Results showed improvement from cycle I to cycle II. Average student learning outcomes increased from 75.40 to 80.65, with mastery rising from 69.23% to 88.46%. Student activity during learning also improved from 71.93% to 78.77%. Teacher performance rose from 80.42 (B) to 88.72 (A). The field trip method effectively enhanced teacher performance, student engagement, and learning outcomes. This research contributes to teaching methods in Arts and Skills (Seni Budaya dan Keterampilan - SBK) at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Implementing the discussion method in studying the topic of Biology, especially in learning about the environment, leaves students unable to apply in real life what they have learned in school. Because of that, in this research, the Project Method through group work was used in the task of recycling organic and inorganic waste. The goal of this research was to enhance the students’ affective, cognitive, and psychomotor ability. The research Project took the form of class action research carried out in two cycles, both of which consisted of planning, implementing, observing, and reflection. The results of the research showed that by implementing the Project Method, the ability of the students increased in all three aspects: the cognitive aspect as evidenced by the daily test scores, the affective aspect as was apparent in the student’s initiative in making posters to raise environmental awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to describe English language learning in class VIII.a SMP Negeri 10 Mandau on English language mastery. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, each cycle consists of 4 stages namely planning, action, observation and reflection with the research process: (1) Learning by using the demonstration method (2) planning the form of classroom action in cycle II based on the results of the redleksi in cycle I. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII.a SMP Negeri 10 Mandau in the 2023/2024 school year totaling 32 students. Student learning outcomes show an increase in learning outcomes. In cycle I there were 2 students who were not complete in cycle II all students had 100% completeness. Therefore, the teacher in deepening students' speaking should use the demonstration learning model.

Abstract

The study aimed at improving students' English speaking skills especially on the material of Describing People by using spinning wheel media. The sample of the study were the students of SMPN 2 Kasui grade 7B in the which consists of 8 male students and 11 female students. Can the use of spinning wheel media improve students' English-speaking skills in describing people material? This research used classroom action research which consists of two cycles. data were obtained through speaking assessment sheets, observation sheets and interview with the students. The result of the research showed the increase of students' English-speaking skills by 18.68 points at the end of cycle II. By looking at the observation sheet and the results of speaking assessments sheets in cycle II, it can be concluded that the use of spinning wheel media, besides able to increase student’s activity in the classroom, it can also improve students' English-speaking skills, especially in the material of Describing People.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the problem-based learning model to improve student learning outcomes on human digestive system material in class VI of State Elementary School 027 Danau Lancang. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). This PTK uses the demonstration learning method. PTK consists of 5 stages, namely: planning, action, observation, reflection. The results showed: (1) By using the problem-based learning model, student learning outcomes in each cycle have increased significantly. Student learning outcomes in cycle I amounted to 80 with 95% completeness, cycle II amounted to 86 with 100% completeness. (2) Classical learning in cycle I was 78.61% increasing to 91.39% in cycle II and group learning from cycle I was 81.25% increasing significantly in cycle II to 100%.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing learning outcomes among fourth-grade students at SD IT BUNAYYA, particularly in the subject of form of substances (IPAS). Conducted through classroom action research (PTK) over three cycles, data was collected via observation and tests. The subjects were fourth-grade students, and success was defined as achieving a class average of at least 7.5. Results showed an average score of 6.4 in cycle I, 6.8 in cycle II, and 8.5 in cycle III, indicating a notable improvement in student learning outcomes. Increased learning activity was also observed. Recommendations include implementing the PBL model in teaching form of substances and fostering students' problem-solving skills through discussion. This research benefits students by enhancing learning outcomes, supports teachers in improving teaching quality, and contributes positively to overall school efforts to enhance student performance.

Abstract

Implementing the Project Based Learning (PBL) model has shown significant improvement in the ability to write news texts for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Talang Muandau. This class action research utilized observation and instrument-based tests, including audiovisual presentations of national news videos and written post-test sheets, to collect data. Analysis involved individual and group scores, average student scores, and criteria-based assessment of student comprehension levels. Results revealed that in the first cycle, only 42% of students met the minimum completion criteria, with an average score of 55, while in the second cycle, all students met the criteria, achieving a 100% average score. Consequently, it can be inferred that the implementation of the PjBL model has significantly enhanced learning outcomes in news text writing for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Talang Muandau.
