Abstract

This study aimed to investigate teachers' strategies for teaching early reading and identify factors contributing to students' difficulties in the process. The research employed a qualitative approach, with the second-grade teacher at SD Negeri 05 Pemuar as the research subject. The focus was on understanding the teacher's methods for instructing students in early reading. Data collection involved interviews, observations, and document analysis, utilizing interview and observation sheets as research instruments. Data analysis encompassed data reduction, exposure, and drawing conclusions. Triangulation techniques were applied to ensure the validity of the research data. The findings revealed that teachers utilized various strategies, including the spelling, sound, syllabic, and global methods, to facilitate early reading skills. Factors influencing students' challenges in initial reading were linked to motivation, interest, social maturity, emotions, and adjustment, contributing to difficulties in letter recognition, syllabic reading, word decoding, and reading repetition.

Abstract

The research findings indicate a significant positive impact on the learning process for the 800-meter middle distance run when employing a direct feedback reinforcement learning model and a scientific approach. The analysis reveals noteworthy improvements, with a 2.38% increase in the average student learning outcomes compared to the previous test. Furthermore, there was a substantial classical increase of 34.37%. Notably, the results of the second cycle demonstrate the attainment of the anticipated classical learning completeness criteria. This underscores the effectiveness of innovative and creative learning models in Physical Education, highlighting their essential role in accomplishing educational objectives. The study contributes valuable insights into pedagogical strategies that enhance student performance in sports education, providing a foundation for further research and educational practices.

Abstract

This study assesses the impact of implementing the Group Investigation (GI) Learning Model on the Biology learning outcomes of grade XI MIA students at SMA Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. Employing a quasi-experimental design, two experimental groups applied the GI Learning Model, while the control group received conventional teaching. Results revealed a significant enhancement in Biology learning outcomes for the experimental groups, as reflected in improved pre-test and post-test scores. Conversely, the control group exhibited no noteworthy changes. Student responses conveyed a high level of satisfaction with the GI Learning Model in the context of Biology education. These findings recommend educators and policymakers consider GI Learning Model implementation as an effective alternative for enhancing Biology learning outcomes in high schools. Further research is necessary to explore factors influencing the success of this model, along with its implications for curriculum development and teaching methods.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic forced a swift shift to online learning, prompting the creation of innovative tools like e-Worksheets. This study introduces e-LKPD, a product grounded in Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and facilitated through Google Forms, designed to enhance critical thinking skills in fourth-grade students. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, the product underwent rigorous evaluation. Results revealed high validity percentages (92.05% for media, 84.67% for material, 94.28% for language) and practicality (93% teacher response, 84.67% student response). Importantly, the e-LKPD demonstrated effectiveness in improving critical thinking skills, establishing itself as a crucial resource for sustaining educational quality amid the challenges posed by the pandemic, ensuring continued progress in the realm of online education. The development of this e-LKPD aligns with the evolving landscape of education, providing a valuable tool to foster critical thinking skills in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance students' interest and learning outcomes in this subject using discussion method and Problem Blended Learning (PBL) model. The research, conducted to determine the most effective teaching method, employed Classroom Action Research with two cycles, including pre-cycle actions. Each cycle consisted of four stages: 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. Results revealed an improvement in learning motivation, as seen in students' active participation during question-and-answer sessions. In the 2020/2021 academic year, the first cycle showed 32.14% of students actively engaged, increasing to 60.71% in the second cycle. Regarding the on-time assignment submission indicator, participation rose from 71.42% in the first cycle to 96.42% in the second cycle. Additionally, the percentage of students scoring above the minimum passing grade increased from 46.43% in the first cycle to 71.42% in the second cycle.

Abstract

This research investigates Class II students' proficiency in identifying intrinsic elements of fairy tales during essay writing at MI Miftahul Ulum. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data was gathered through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings reveal enhanced intrinsic element identification skills among students when teachers incorporate fairy tale visuals into the teaching process. This visual aid not only provides a realistic depiction but also stimulates self-motivation, contributing positively to students' learning progress. However, challenges persist, including difficulties in determining story themes, character names, traits, plot development, and story messages. These challenges are attributed to the prevalent use of traditional lecture-focused methods in Indonesian language teaching, a lack of emphasis on student activities, and an overall deficiency in enthusiasm for learning. Addressing these challenges is crucial to improving students' comprehensive understanding of intrinsic elements in fairy tales during essay writing.

Abstract

This research concentrates on enhancing learning creativity among class X students at SMA Negeri 2 Kampar Kiri Tengah. Conducted as classroom action research across two cycles, involving planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The study, encompassing 15 class X students, reveals the efficacy of the "make a match" learning model in elevating biology learning outcomes. Key findings include: (1) The utilization of the "make a match" model significantly amplifies student engagement, registering an 80% increase. (2) Implementation of the "make a match" model correlates with an 80% rise in the completeness of student learning outcomes in biology. These insights underscore the effectiveness of innovative teaching strategies, emphasizing the role of the "make a match" model in fostering active participation and academic achievement in the biology curriculum, thus presenting a promising avenue for advancing pedagogical approaches. In conclusion, the study suggests that the "make a match" model contributes significantly to students' active engagement and academic success in biology education, showcasing its potential as a transformative pedagogical tool.

Abstract

This research focuses on augmenting class learning creativity through a comprehensive classroom action research initiative conducted in two cycles. The meticulous process involves planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The research cohort encompasses 31 students in the twelfth grade at SMA Negeri 1 Bunut. Notably, the findings underscore the instrumental role of animation media in enhancing student learning outcomes in the domain of biology. Conclusively, (1) the integration of animation media amplifies student engagement during the learning process by a commendable 75%, and (2) it substantially elevates the completeness of student learning outcomes in biology by an impressive 75%. This research contributes to the evolving landscape of educational methodologies, highlighting the efficacy of animation media in cultivating dynamic and effective learning environments. The overwhelmingly positive response from both students and educators reaffirms the significance of employing innovative multimedia tools for optimal learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance eighth-grade students' exposition writing at SMP Negeri 2 Hulu Kuantan through a problem-based learning model. The model facilitates material understanding, improving students' expository text skills and overall proficiency. Noteworthy improvements are observed in the learning process and outcomes. Classified as Classroom Action Research, the research consists of two cycles at SMP Negeri 2 Hulu Kuantan. Data collection includes tests and observations, analyzed qualitatively. Success criteria involve positive value changes in each cycle, assessing triumph in both the process and results. The problem-based learning model effectively elevates students' exposition writing proficiency, fostering focus, group engagement, and enjoyment. Consistent and significant improvements occur across all aspects from cycle I to II, affirming the model's success in enhancing exposition writing skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Hulu Kuantan.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the jigsaw learning method assisted by interactive videos in enhancing the learning outcomes of class XI-IPA students at SMAN 1 Kerinci Kanan, specifically focusing on the human digestive system subject. Utilizing a single-cycle PTK (classroom action research) involving planning, implementation, and reflection stages within two meetings, the study engaged 16 students, comprising 7 females and 9 males. Data collection involved interactive learning activities, group discussions, presentations, and reflections on completed Student Worksheets (LKPD). The outcomes revealed a notable improvement in students' learning achievements, indicating the success of the jigsaw method assisted by video learning media in augmenting the knowledge of the students through collaborative activities, presentations, and discussions. The findings underscore the potential of integrating interactive videos with the jigsaw method as an effective approach for enhancing comprehension and engagement in learning the human digestive system among high school students.
