Abstract

The number of LBW experienced LBW in the January-August 2019 period was 17.7%, this is an increase compared to the previous year, namely in 2018, which was 14.6%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Hypertension in pregnancy and toxemia gravidarum with LBW events in RSUD Dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung for the period January-August 2019. Using analytic survey methods with cross-sectional design with the population in this study were all BBL in Perinatologi Hospital Dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung period the period January-August 2019 with a total of 2,729 and the number of samples taken as many as 100. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Data collection uses the register room of Perinatology. The results of bivariate analysis of mothers who experienced Hypertension in pregnancy gave birth to LBW by 43.8%, mothers who experienced Toxemia gravidarum gave birth to LBW by 48.8%. The history of mothers who experienced Hypertension in pregnancy obtained p value = 0.807 (p 0.05), and the history of mothers who experienced Toxemia Gravidarum obtained p value = 0.166 (p 0.05). There is no relationship between Hypertension in pregnancy and Toxemia Gravidarum with the incidence of LBW. Therefore, researchers can suggest that there are other factors that can cause LBW, such as malnutrition, age of marriage, and pregnancy spacing.

Abstract

Stunting is still a big challenge faced by this nation even in the world even though it can actually be prevented. This study aims to determine the socio-economic relationship (mother's education, father's education, family income) to the incidence of stunting. The design of this study uses a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were 100 toddlers. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data analysis using chi square. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between mother's education (p=0.003) and father's education (p=0.045) and the incidence of stunting in toddlers, but there was no significant relationship between family income (p=0.678) and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. There is a need for structured and continuous education to increase public knowledge about stunting.

Abstract

Background: Antenatal visit coverage has increased by 88.13% from the set target of 85%, reflecting improvements in maternal health indicators. While nationally meeting targets, 17 provinces, including West Papua and Papua, lag behind. Despite the increase in coverage from 2020 to 2021, disparities persist, according to Indonesian Ministry of Health data. Research Objective: Assessing pregnant women's knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding antenatal care (ANC) frequency in Rangkasbitung Community Health Center. Research Methods: Employing a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 81 respondents, utilizing a sample size formula. Research Results 81.3% of respondents completed ANC visits, with 41.3% exhibiting good knowledge, 91.3% displaying positive attitudes, and 81.3% demonstrating favorable behaviors. Statistical tests revealed no significant relationship between knowledge or attitudes and ANC visit frequency. However, a significant association was found between attitudes and ANC visit frequency. Conclusion and Suggestion: While good knowledge and attitudes may suggest better ANC visit adherence, statistical tests indicate no significant relationship. Various factors such as personal experiences, cultural influences, media, education, and religious beliefs shape pregnant women's behaviors regarding ANC visits. Public health interventions should consider these multifaceted factors for effective implementation..

Abstract

Background: Diarrhea disease is one of the infectious diseases of the digestive tract that is a health problem in the world including Indonesia. Behavioral factors can influence the spread of enteric germs and reduce the risk of diarrhea. Referring to the Pajagan Health Center MTBS register book in 2023, toddlers aged 6-8 months in Ciuyah Village who experienced diarrhea based on gender were 13 boys and 11 girls. Research Objective: To determine the effect of maternal knowledge about complementary feeding (MP-ASI) with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers aged 6-8 months in Calungbungur Village, Pajagan Health. Center in 2023. Research Methods: This study used quantitative research methods. The research design used a case control design. The total sample was 15 respondents. Case and control samples were taken in an unmatched case control with a ratio of 1: 2. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Research Results: The results of the Chi Square Test showed that there was no significant relationship between maternal knowledge about complementary feeding and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers (p value 1.000). The results of the OR calculation show that mothers with less knowledge about complementary feeding 1.556 times to experience the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers compared to good knowledge (95% CI 0.165-14.654). Conclusion and Suggestion: Health promotion on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) should be carried out regularly so that people in Calungbungur Village understand how to maintain environmental health. Mothers of infants aged 6-8 months should understand the importance of complementary feeding, so as to maintain infant health and reduce the risk of diarrhea.

Abstract

Background: Research by Mediani, et al (2023) concluded that there are seven maternal factors that contribute to the incidence of stunting in toddlers in developing countries. These factors include maternal formal education, maternal BMI, maternal height, maternal age, antenatal care, maternal mental health, and pregnancy intentions. All of these factors influence the inheritance of genes and care for stunted children, making them the main factors in the incidence of stunting in toddlers in developing countries. Research Objective: To determine the influence of birth weight, history of IMD, history of exclusive breastfeeding and history of giving MP-ASI on the incidence of stunting in children aged 0-59 months in the Pajagan Community Health Center Working Area. Research Methods: The design of this research is cross sectional. The number of samples is based on the Isaac and Michael Table with an error rate of 5%, so the total sample is 130 toddlers. The sampling technique used in this research was simple random sampling. Research Results: 36.2% suffer from stunting, 9.2% with birth weight < 2500 grams - > 4000 grams, 88.5% with a history of IMD, 95.4% with a history of exclusive breastfeeding, 99.2% with a history of giving MP- breast milk. Chi Square test results showed that there was no relationship between birth weight, history of IMD, history of exclusive breastfeeding, history of giving MP-ASI and the incidence of stunting (p value > 0.05). Conclusion and Suggestion: The research results showed that there was no relationship between the variables studied and the incidence of stunting. These variables still contribute to stunting with the risk of occurrence ranging from 1-2 times. The Pajagan Community Health Center is advised to provide health education, monitor toddler growth, maternal health and nutrition services, increase access to health services, promote cleanliness and sanitation, and establish cross-sectoral collaboration.

Abstract

Nutrition has a major contribution to the life cycle, one of the nutritional problems is malnutrition, both macro and micro nutrients that are manifested in the status of chronic energy deficiency (CHD). SEZ can cause premature LBW babies, stunting and other complications. The indicator of early detection of SEZ is by measuring LiLA (Upper Arm Circumference). The prevalence of SEZ in pregnant women in Indonesia based on Riskesdas data in 2018 was 17.3% and in Southeast Sulawesi it was 28.0%. this type of analytical obsevational research using case control design. the number of samples in this study were 62 pregnant women from 70 populations and a fixed sample of 70 pregnant women was taken. Sampling using total sampling technique according to inclusion criteria, analyzed using Univariate Analysis and Bivariate Analysis with Chi Square statistical test. The results of the study in each variable p value <0.05. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between age and parity to the SEZ of pregnant women at the Rangkasbitung Health Center in 2022. Suggestions to prospective or pregnant women should be pregnancy planning at reproductive age which is 20 years to 35 years and mothers should know the nutritional needs during pregnancy planning and pregnancy period in order to achieve a healthy pregnancy and minimal risk of complications.
