Abstract

Following the operation of the Medan–Tebing Tinggi segment of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road, altered traffic dynamics have created new challenges for customer footfall and dodol MSMEs in Pasar Bengkel, Serdang Bedagai. To investigate how these businesses adapt, this study investigates the partial and simultaneous impact of two key drivers: nostalgia marketing and social capital. Adopting an associative-causal quantitative strategy, a saturated sample of 39 operating dodol enterprises completed a 5-point Likert instrument. Through SPSS-based multiple regression, nostalgia marketing was shown to have a strong, positive partial relationship with organizational resilience (t=4.197>2.028). Social capital displayed an equally significant positive relationship (t=4.506>2.028). Jointly, the two predictors significantly influence business resilience (F=29.232>3.26), yielding an R^2 value of 0.619. Consequently, 61.9% of the resilience variance is explained by the model, leaving 38.1% to factors beyond the scope of this study.

Abstract

The adoption of hybrid work models forces corporate entities to focus on critical determinants of employee output, notably Work-Life Balance and Psychological Well-Being. This empirical study examines how Work-Life Balance and Psychological Well-Being influence Employee Performance under a hybrid working arrangement. Employing a quantitative methodology, data were collected via questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents selected through purposeful sampling. Structural relationship testing was conducted using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) executed on SmartPLS software. The empirical outcomes demonstrate that Work-Life Balance yields no statistically significant impact on Employee Performance. Conversely, Psychological Well-Being exhibits a positive and meaningful effect on Employee Performance. The coefficient of determination (R^2) stands at 0.621, indicating that Work-Life Balance and Psychological Well-Being jointly account for 62.1% of the variance observed in Employee Performance. These results underscore that Psychological Well-Being serves as a predominant driver for optimizing employee output in hybrid work structures. Consequently, management should prioritize interventions that cultivate psychological health to sustain long-term performance growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work procedure clarity (SOP) and role clarity on employee performance effectiveness at PT Mandiri Sawit Bersama. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The entire population of 90 employees was included as the sample using a census technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results show that work procedure clarity and role clarity simultaneously have a significant effect on performance effectiveness, with an F-value of 4.412 and a significance level of 0.015. Partially, work procedure clarity has a positive and significant effect, with a coefficient of 0.290 and a significance level of 0.021, while role clarity has a positive but insignificant effect, with a coefficient of 0.198 and a significance level of 0.112. The R Square value of 0.092 indicates that both variables explain 9.2% of the variation in employee performance effectiveness. These findings emphasize the importance of clear SOP implementation and stronger role clarity to support consistent, directed, and standardized employee performance.

Abstract

This study examines how audience involvement and parasocial interaction with K-pop idols relate to celebrity worship, K-Beauty purchase intention, and intention to visit Korea among Indonesian K-pop fans. A cross-sectional survey collected 200 valid responses through social media recruitment. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Sixteen of the 19 hypothesized relationships were supported. Behavioral involvement, emotional involvement, and referential reflection were positively associated with parasocial interaction, which was associated with all three dimensions of celebrity worship, most strongly with intense-personal attachment. Intense-personal celebrity worship was associated with K-Beauty brand awareness, perceived product quality, and purchase intention. In contrast, entertainment-social and borderline-pathological worship were not directly associated with purchase intention. Brand awareness and perceived product quality were associated with purchase intention, while perceived product quality was also associated with intention to visit Korea. These findings suggest that K-Beauty marketers should consider both idol attachment and product evaluation, whereas tourism promoters should address travel interest as a distinct decision.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of self-efficacy and entrepreneurial values on entrepreneurial intention among students of the Entrepreneurship Study Program, Class of 2023, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Medan, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach with a causal associative research design was employed. The population comprised students from this program and cohort. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination using SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that self-efficacy positively and significantly affects entrepreneurial intention (p = 0.018), as do entrepreneurial values (p = 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence entrepreneurial intention (F = 39.633; p < 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.557) indicates that self-efficacy and entrepreneurial values explain 55.7% of the variance in entrepreneurial intention, while the remaining 44.3% is explained by factors outside the study. These findings suggest that strengthening self-efficacy and entrepreneurial values can support the development of entrepreneurial intention among students in the examined program and cohort.
