Abstract

Employee performance is a crucial determinant of organizational effectiveness and is influenced by various internal and external factors. High-quality human resources supported by training, development, and a conducive work environment are expected to improve productivity, efficiency, and task completion. This study aims to examine the effects of workload, work-life balance, and work motivation on employee performance at the South Amboyo Village Office, Landak Regency, West Kalimantan. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression analysis. The study involved all employees of the South Amboyo Village Office, with 100 respondents selected as the research sample. The findings indicate that workload, work-life balance, and work motivation each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, these three variables also significantly influence employee performance, demonstrating that they jointly contribute to improving organizational performance. The results suggest that appropriate workload management, a balanced work-life environment, and strong work motivation are essential in enhancing employee productivity and effectiveness. Therefore, organizational policies that promote employee well-being, maintain optimal workloads, and strengthen work motivation are recommended to support sustainable improvements in employee performance and organizational achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of product information transparency on public trust with public understanding as a mediating variable. The data were analyzed using path analysis. The study used a quantitative approach with purposive sampling of 100 respondents in Medan City who had been exposed to information and had a basic understanding of sharia insurance products. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS 4.1. The results show that product information transparency facilitates increased understanding and significantly strengthens public trust in sharia insurance. Partial testing showed that public understanding acts as a mediating variable linking the influence of information transparency to the strengthening of public trust. These findings confirm that an honest and educational communication strategy is really crucial for insurance companies to build credibility in the eyes of the public. Therefore, Sharia insurance companies need to develop communication strategies that are transparent, honest, educational, consistent, and accessible in order to enhance understanding while building public trust on a sustainable basis.

Abstract

This study examines community empowerment-based waste management in subsidized housing areas in Padang Pariaman Regency. It aims to describe existing waste management practices, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate appropriate development strategies. The study employed a qualitative case-study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and a Focus Group Discussion involving 12 informants representing the Environmental Agency, nagari government, housing developers and managers, neighborhood organizations, community leaders, waste-bank administrators, and residents. Data were analyzed using an interactive process comprising data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification, followed by SWOT analysis. The results indicate that waste management remains focused on waste collection and transportation, while waste reduction at source, household sorting, and reduce, reuse, and recycle practices have not yet become established community routines. Community empowerment has been initiated through socialization, community meetings, communal disposal facilities, and coordinated collection services. However, empowerment and protection mechanisms remain limited because participation is uneven, technical skills are inadequate, local institutions are weak, training is irregular, and waste management depends heavily on transportation services. The study concludes that Weaknesses–Opportunities strategies should be prioritized through regular practical training, provision of separated waste bins, institutional strengthening, reactivation of the waste bank, and the establishment of a coordinated waste collection schedule.

Abstract

This study analyzes the development strategy for administrative digitalization through the Dukcapil Ceria Mobile innovation to improve public service accessibility at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Padang Pariaman Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through interviews, observation, and documentation involving managers, officers, information technology personnel, users, and non-users. Data were analyzed through reduction, display, conclusion drawing, and SWOT analysis. The findings show that Dukcapil Ceria Mobile facilitates document submission, reduces face-to-face visits, accelerates service delivery, saves time and costs, and enables applicants to monitor application status. Its development is supported by electronic-based government policies, technological advancement, smartphone use, demand for practical services, and collaboration with village governments. However, implementation remains constrained by limited staff competence and numbers, application disruptions, system maintenance needs, unequal socialization, internet access, low digital literacy, device limitations, preference for conventional services, and data security concerns. The study recommends improving system quality, strengthening staff capacity, expanding outreach and user assistance, enhancing data protection, integrating digital and conventional services, and sustaining collaboration with village governments to ensure inclusive, reliable, secure, and accessible population administration services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze initial perceptions, the process of perception transformation, and the acceptance of sharia insurance among non-Muslims in Lubuk Pakam District. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four non-Muslim informants who had been active participants in sharia insurance for at least two years, supported by observation and documentation. The data analysis technique employed descriptive analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification using source triangulation and member checking to maintain the credibility of the findings. The results showed that informants' initial perceptions tended to be influenced by the label "sharia" associated with Islam, thus raising doubts at the initial stage. However, after receiving an explanation of the contract, the principle of mutual assistance, and the transparency of fund management, perceptions transformed toward a more rational understanding. Empirical experience during participation, particularly regarding service, transparency, and ease of claims, played a significant role in shaping trust. Public acceptance showed a positive trend, indicated by consistent premium payments, a duration of participation of more than two years, and an intention to continue the program. Informants' decisions were pragmatic and economic, not theological. This study concludes that Islamic insurance is inclusive and acceptable across religions if managed professionally, transparently, and provides tangible benefits. The primary challenge in increasing participation among non-Muslim communities lies not in religious factors, but rather in literacy and effective communication.

Abstract

Work motivation is a key determinant influencing the performance of academic and administrative staff in higher education institutions. This study aims to examine the effect of motivation based on the Existence, Relationship, and Growth (ERG) theory on the performance of academic and administrative staff at Universitas Caritas Indonesia Manokwari. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed using a survey of 77 respondents selected through the total sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that relationship and growth motivation had positive and significant effects on performance, whereas existence motivation also had a significant effect but with a negative regression coefficient. Simultaneously, ERG motivation had a significant effect on performance, with an Adjusted R² of 0.860. These findings extend the empirical evidence supporting the application of ERG theory in higher education institutions in Eastern Indonesia and indicate that interpersonal relationships and self-development play a more prominent role in improving performance than material needs. The study provides practical implications for implementing evidence-based human resource management in developing human resource policies within higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study examines psychographic factors, consumer perceptions, and consumer behavior in online restaurant selection through a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis. Bibliographic records were retrieved from Scopus for the 2016–2026 period, resulting in 236 articles for bibliometric analysis and 14 empirical studies for focused systematic synthesis. The bibliometric findings show increasing research attention to online food delivery, consumer behavior, attitude, purchase intention, and behavioral intention. The systematic synthesis indicates that consumer decisions are influenced by psychographic factors such as attitude, motivation, lifestyle compatibility, and consumption values, together with perceptions of trust, convenience, value, quality, risk, online reviews, visual cues, and social influence. These factors shape behavioral outcomes including purchase intention, application use, restaurant choice, visit intention, purchase behavior, and word-of-mouth. However, the literature remains fragmented and is largely dominated by intention-based outcomes, cross-sectional designs, and studies of food-delivery platform use rather than restaurant-level choice. Future research should therefore expand psychographic constructs, examine actual consumer behavior, and apply longitudinal and cross-cultural approaches.

Abstract

This study examines how district-level mentoring translates good-governance principles into village fund management within the dual formal-customary institutional setting of Agam Regency, West Sumatra. A qualitative embedded case-study design was used in three nagari representing different mentoring intensities. Data were obtained from 14 purposively selected informants through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and limited non-participant observation, and were analyzed using an interactive process of data condensation, display, and verification. The findings show that mentoring generated the clearest improvements in transparency and formal accountability, particularly through more regular disclosure, timely financial reporting, and consistent use of Siskeudes. Participation remained uneven and often procedural, while regulatory compliance depended strongly on administrative capacity. Cross-case comparison further indicates that mentoring quality and continuity, rather than visit frequency alone, explain differences in governance outcomes. Facilitators who maintained sustained contact and understood local customary relations were more effective in encouraging inclusive deliberation. The study positions district mentoring as an institutional bridge that connects formal regulatory demands with local governance practices. Strengthening facilitator capacity, inter-institutional coordination, and context-sensitive assistance is therefore essential for more substantive and sustainable village fund governance.
