Abstract

Green products have received worldwide attention as an alternative to more environmentally responsible consumption. Even though the environmental sustainability of green products is crucial, more research is still needed to determine the factors influencing consumer purchasing behavior for green products in developing nations, particularly Indonesia. Using the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), this study investigates the psychological aspects that influence green behavior. It is believed that attitude, perceived behavioral control (PBC), and subjective norm all substantially impact a consumer's decision to purchase a green product. Subjective norm is the influence of people surrounding the respondent, while PBC is the respondent's perspective about their ability to perform certain actions. The research was conducted in 2023 using an online survey. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the data of 228 respondents using SmartPLS 3. The results show that attitudes and PBC significantly influence green consumption behavior. However, they show small predicting powers towards the intention. The subjective norm does not directly influence how behavior is formed but directly impacts how customers' attitudes are formed. The research results provide practical implications for the government and marketers to hold a special exhibition for green products and create labeling to improve the accessibility of green consumption. At the same time, the government can contribute to supporting green consumption by labeling pro-environmental products. This research still uses the basic variables of the TPB, where many researchers can add other variables that have the potential to influence a person's intention to take an action.

Abstract

Agroindustry is an industrial activity that utilizes agricultural products as raw materials to be processed into new products. Home industry Usaha Baru Telur Asin is a business that processes duck eggs into salted egg products, which use tools and processing technology in their activities. With the help of technology, there will be a transformation of raw materials (duck eggs), which are of lower value, into products (salted eggs) of high value. This study aims to analyze the amount of added value generated from duck egg processing and the remuneration received by workers and agro-industrial processors in the home industry of the Usaha Baru Telur Asin in Lapulu Village, Abeli District. The data collection for this research was carried out in May-August 2022. The location of this research was determined purposively. Namely, the selection was intentional because, in the Village, there is a business processing duck eggs into salted eggs. Respondents to this study were business owners and workers in the " Usaha Baru Telur Asin" home industry. The analysis used to analyze the added value and distribution of the added value created uses Hayami's analysis method. The results showed that the business of processing duck eggs into salted eggs provided an added value of IDR15,154/kg of duck eggs. This value consists of company or processor profits of IDR12,154 and employee benefits of IDR3,000. The enormous remuneration for production factors is found in company profits, which is 60.77%, then the contribution of other inputs with a value of 24.23%, and labor benefits, which have a discount of 15%. It can be seen that the distribution of added value created from the process of processing duck eggs into salted eggs is enjoyed more by companies than workers.

Abstract

Rice is an important food commodity to meet the high demand for food, especially in Asia. Most of the central producing countries of this commodity are located in Asia, and they play a significant role in supporting the availability of food for the people amidst the significant risks and uncertainties in carrying out rice farming, including the consequences of climate change and pests and diseases. This study aims to (1) find out the trend of rice production and production risks in the central producing countries over 61 years and (2) find out the risks of rice production in each of the central producing countries. This research was conducted using descriptive analysis using secondary data from 1961-2021, which was processed into tables and graphs. Meanwhile, the calculation of production risk is carried out using the coefficient of variation method. The results show that rice production in the central producing countries has a positive trend, where production increases from year to year. This is followed by a decrease in the risk of rice production every year. Vietnam is a country with the most significant rice production risk, while Cina and Brazil are countries with the lowest production risk. The application of programs proclaimed by the government, which are also adapted to the characteristics of farmers and actual conditions in the field, is expectee to minimize production risks so that optimal production can be achieved.
