Abstract

The Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model was applied in this research with the aim of increasing students' interest in learning in biology subjects. This type of research is Classroom Action Research based on Lesson Study which consists of the Plan, Do, and See stages. This research was carried out in class XII MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 10 Mataram for two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. In the first cycle of action, the achievement indicator was still not as expected at 16.6%, so it needed to be followed up in cycle II as a result of reflection from cycle I with results of 53.3%. The results obtained in cycle II show that the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model can increase students' interest in learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the cognitive learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Mataram through the application of animation media in power point. The research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year at SMP Negeri 5 Mataram. The subjects of this research were class VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Mataram for the 2021/2022 academic year. The research method used was pre-experimental. The design used in this pre-experimental research was one group pretest-posttest. The instrument used to assess students' level of success is using essay learning outcomes tests. Data collection techniques use pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique uses a formula, namely the number of correct answer scores divided by the total score multiplied by one hundred. To calculate the N-Gain value, use the formula, namely the posttest score minus the pretest score divided by the maximum score minus the pretest score. The results of the research show that student learning outcomes based on gender show that male students obtained an average pretest score of 47.16 and a posttest of 53, while the average pretest score for female students was 53 and the average posttest score was 64.77. The N-Gain value for male students is 0.05 and the N-Gain value for female students is 0.25, and both are in the low category. Thus, it can be concluded that after using power point media and 3D animation, students' cognitive learning outcomes show an increase in learning outcomes compared to before.

Abstract

The Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model is all student learning activities to improve existing abilities or improve new abilities, both abilities in the aspects of knowledge, attitudes and skills. These learning activities are carried out in group activities, so that participants can learn from each other through exchanging thoughts, experiences and ideas. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model on the motivation and cognitive learning outcomes of class XI Science students at SMA Negeri 7 Mataram. This type of research is quasi-experimental using two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research design is pretest-posttest control group design. The research results showed that the learning motivation of experimental class and control class students was in the high category. This can be seen from the average value of motivation results for the experimental class of 73.90% and the average value of motivation results for the control class of 72.45%. From this data it can be seen that the motivation results of the experimental class are higher than the control class. Meanwhile, students' cognitive learning outcomes were obtained by hypothesis testing, where p = 0.000 < 0.05 significance level, so the hypothesis was accepted, namely that there was an influence of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' cognitive learning outcomes by applying the leaflet-assisted discovery learning model to human excretory system material. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a quantitative descriptive approach, carried out in two cycles, with one meeting held in each cycle. The population in this study were all students at SMP Negeri 1 Blitar with the sample taken being 37 class VIII students. Data collection techniques include tests and documentation. The results of the research show that there is an increase in cognitive learning outcomes with the application of the leaflet-assisted discovery learning model. This is proven by the students' cognitive learning results in cycle I of 64.86% and in cycle II of 100%. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the application of the leaflet-assisted discovery learning model can improve the cognitive learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Blitar on the structure and function of the human excretory system.

Abstract

The research aims to improve the communication skills and cognitive learning outcomes of class VII students at SMP Negeri 5 Kopang. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The instruments used are observation sheets which are used to observe or determine communication skills and implementation of learning during the learning process, and tests/questions are used to determine students' understanding of the lessons given using the jigsaw type learning model during the teaching and learning process. The research results show an increase, both in terms of communication skills and cognitive learning outcomes. The results of the analysis of the percentage of communication skills of students in the first cycle at the first meeting, the indicator of ability to work together in groups was 18% in the very poor category, at the second meeting the percentage was 31% in the poor category, while in the second cycle at the first meeting the percentage was 72% in the good category, and at the second meeting the percentage was found to be 77% in the good category. Indicators of verbal communication skills were the results of students' communication skills in cycle I at meeting I with a percentage of 22% in the poor category, at meeting II with a percentage of 41% in the quite good category, while in cycle II in meeting I the percentage was 63% in the good category, and at the second meeting, the percentage was found to be 72% in the good category. The indicator of the ability to respect friends' opinions was the result of students' communication skills in cycle I with a percentage of 18% in the very poor category, in meeting II with a percentage of 45% in the quite good category, while in cycle II in meeting I the percentage was 72% in the good category, and in meeting II with a percentage of 81% in the very good category. The results of student learning evaluations in cycle I achieved classical completeness with a percentage of 59% with an average value of 68.6, and in cycle II classical completeness with a percentage of 90% with an average value of 82.2. The conclusion from the research results is that the jigsaw type learning model can improve communication skills and cognitive learning outcomes for class VII students at SMP Negeri 5 Kopang.

Abstract

One of the teaching materials that is often used is modules. A module is a unit of learning material that can be studied by students independently. It contains clear components and instructions, so that students can follow it sequentially without teacher intervention. This research aims to determine the feasibility of the animal ecology module based on the results of identifying dragonfly species (Odonata) found in the Jangkok River, Mataram City. The research instrument used was a validation sheet, which includes aspects of format, content, language, simplicity, illustrations, media quality and attractiveness. This type of research is development research (Research and Development) with a 4D model. Based on the results of the analysis of the feasibility of the Animal Ecology Module from the validation results of 3 expert validators and readability tests of 15 respondents (students who have taken the Animal Ecology course) the results obtained were content/material 82%, language 85% and appearance 92.5%, it was concluded that The Animal Ecology Module is declared appropriate and not revised.

Abstract

Brochures are one of the media used to convey information. Brochures are also defined as paper documents which are usually used as advertising or promotions. According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary (BID), brochures are defined as written information material about a problem that is prepared in a systematic way. This system is in the form of a print, which only consists of a few pages that can be folded without being bound. This research aims to develop a public health brochure based on herbal medicine. This type of research is development research. The research sample used was 15 people from Surabaya Village, East Sakra Subdistrict, East Lombok Regency. Data collection techniques are validation and readability testing. The data analysis technique used is the percentage technique. The research results showed that the herbal medicine-based public health brochure was based on content/material experts (3.8), language experts (3.7), and display experts (3.75), as well as the average score of the public readability test namely (3.7), which is categorized as not requiring revision or suitable for use.

Abstract

Modules can help educators achieve quality learning. The application of modules can condition learning activities to be more well planned, independent, complete, and with clear results (output). This research aims to test the feasibility of the ecological module based on the results of identifying types of sea stars (Asteroidea). The type of research used is development research. The research sample used was 15 students of the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Mandalika University of Education. Data collection techniques include validation and readability testing. The data analysis technique used is the percentage technique. Based on the research results, it was explained that the development of the ecology module was validated by a team of experts (material, language and appearance), and the student readability test obtained an average of 74.1% and the readability test was 87.8%. It was concluded that the ecological module developed was declared quite valid without needing revision and was very readable.

Abstract

Medicinal plants are all types of plants, either cultivated or not yet cultivated, that can be used as medicinal plants. To find out to what extent medicinal plants are known to the community in Batu Mekar Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency, it is necessary to create an information media for education in the form of brochures. The aim of the research is to develop brochures as educational media to increase knowledge about medicinal plants for the public. This type of research is development research. Data collection techniques use validation sheets and readability tests. The data analysis technique used is the percentage technique. The research results showed that content/material experts had a validation score of 84% and their qualifications were very good. Linguist with a validation score of 70% and good qualifications. Display expert with a validation score of 70% and good qualifications. Meanwhile, the readability test was carried out by 20 people in the community with a score of 80% and their qualifications were very good.

Abstract

The results of observations carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Pemenang, North Lombok Regency, found that the classical completeness obtained was far from the predetermined indicators. The low student learning outcomes are thought to occur because presentations often use the lecture method and there are no practical activities because the tools for this are not available. Apart from that, in every lesson that uses the lecture method the teacher is often the center of attention and the students are only the receiving objects. So students do not have the opportunity to develop knowledge and abilities in science process skills. The NoS (Nature of Science) model invites students to be able to train students' abilities in improving problem-solving abilities so that they can improve students' science process skills and understanding of concepts. The aim of this research is to improve students' science process skills and conceptual understanding through the NoS (Nature of Science) learning model on the sub-subject of environmental pollution. This type of research is classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, evaluation and reflection stages. Research data in the form of student learning outcomes was taken using multiple choice test techniques and descriptions. The average score obtained in cycle I was 76.07, in cycle II it increased to 80.00. While classical completeness was 67.85% in cycle I, in cycle II it increased to 85.71%. Meanwhile, the average score for students' science process skills in cycle I was 70.8 in the high category, in cycle II the average score for students' science process skills increased to 78.1 in the high category. The conclusion of this research is that NOS (Nature of Science) oriented learning can improve students' science process skills and understanding of concepts.
