Abstract

This study explores how leadership approaches and employee motivation contribute to enhancing the job performance of production operators in a manufacturing firm based in Majalengka. The primary objective is to examine key elements that drive improved employee performance outcomes. Employing a quantitative methodology within a causal-associative framework, the research involves a total of 100 production staff members, all of whom are included as participants through a saturated sampling strategy. Data obtained from the respondents were analyzed using SmartPLS 3. The analysis revealed that both leadership style and work motivation play critical roles in shaping employee performance metrics. These insights highlight the necessity of fostering effective leadership and maintaining strong motivational levels to cultivate a more efficient and high-performing organizational environment. Management should develop and implement participative, communicative, and inspirational leadership practices to enhance employee engagement. Additionally, organizations need to design motivation enhancement programs, incorporating both financial and non-financial incentives, such as recognition, training, and career development opportunities. Consequently, employee performance can be improved sustainably, ultimately contributing to the achievement of overall organizational objectives.

Abstract

This study examines the feasibility of investing in a Water Storage Service (WSS) in Depok City to address the growing demand for clean drinking water. The research evaluates WSS's financial viability and sustainability, considering market, technical, financial, environmental, management, and legal aspects. Using a quantitative approach, the study employs investment evaluation criteria such as Net Present Value (NPV), Return on Investment (ROI), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period, and Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C). The findings indicate that the WSS initiative is financially feasible, with a positive NPV of IDR 116,553,085,906.00, ROI of 15.3, IRR of 32.06%, and a payback period of 5.7 years. Sensitivity analysis shows that the project remains viable even with a 15% reduction in sales and a 20% increase in operating costs. Despite the promising financial results, several risks were identified, including market, technical, regulatory, and business risks. The implications of this study suggest that WSS can be an effective solution to reduce reliance on bottled water and groundwater, while providing affordable, sustainable water access for Depok’s growing urban population. Future research should explore how WSS can be implemented in other urban areas facing similar water scarcity issues.

Abstract

This study examines the organizational readiness of the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives of Indonesia in adapting to the challenges posed by open government and open parliament initiatives. The main issue addressed is the lack of synchronization between government openness policies and parliamentary openness efforts in Indonesia. The objective of this research is to explore possible future scenarios for the Secretariat General through scenario planning, a method that provides a strategic framework to navigate uncertain and complex environments. The research utilizes the TAIDA framework (Tracking, Analyzing, Imaging, Deciding, and Acting) to identify key drivers of change and map out potential futures. The results suggest four possible scenarios ranging from a fully aligned, innovative, and efficient Secretariat General to one that lags behind in adapting to these changes. The implications of this study are significant for policymakers, providing strategic insights into how the Secretariat General can improve organizational readiness, enhance public participation, and strengthen governance transparency to align with global trends of openness. These findings offer a roadmap for strengthening Indonesia’s parliamentary system and its commitment to open governance

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between the self-concept of digital immigrant small business owners in Bali and the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, examining how their self-concept influences their adaptation to modern business demands. The purpose of the research is to understand how digital immigrant entrepreneurs in Bali, primarily from Generation X, navigate the digital economy while maintaining cultural values rooted in Tri Hita Karana. A qualitative research method with an interpretive approach was used, involving face-to-face interviews with 30 digital immigrant small business owners in Bali. Data were analyzed using NVIVO software, which facilitated the coding and identification of themes. The results show that the self-concept of these entrepreneurs is strongly aligned with Tri Hita Karana principles, including goodwill, openness, and realism. The study also found that the entrepreneurs’ self-concept significantly influences their ability to balance modern business practices with cultural traditions. The implications of this study suggest that digital immigrants can successfully adopt modern business strategies while preserving their cultural values, and that integrating self-concept with Tri Hita Karana can lead to more harmonious business practices. This research contributes to the understanding of digital immigrants’ adaptation processes and provides insights into how cultural values can guide successful entrepreneurship in the digital age.

Abstract

This study examines the sustainability of community-based tourism (CBT) in Meat Village, Toba Regency, North Sumatra, with a focus on empowering local communities, especially in decision-making and tourism management. The research aims to assess the current state of CBT in the village and develop strategies to ensure its long-term sustainability. A mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques, was employed, using questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) for sustainability analysis. The study found that while the community is involved in tourism activities, their participation in decision-making and planning is limited. Key findings include the importance of enhancing women’s empowerment, improving community involvement in decision-making, and strengthening the role of traditional leaders in conflict resolution. The research emphasizes the need for continuous capacity building and decentralization of tourism management to ensure equitable benefits and preserve cultural heritage. The implications of this study suggest that promoting inclusive governance and providing education and training to local communities can improve the sustainability of CBT, leading to more resilient and culturally sensitive tourism development in rural areas like Meat Village.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious health issue among toddlers in Indonesia, especially in areas with low parental education and socioeconomic status. One major cause is inadequate nutritional intake influenced by poor parental knowledge and feeding patterns. This study aims to analyze the effect of nutritional intake education on improving feeding practices and growth outcomes in stunted children aged 1–2 years in the working area of the Palaran Community Health Center. Using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, this research involved 11 stunted children selected through total sampling. Data collection included questionnaires, observation sheets, and child growth measurements, which were analyzed using paired t-tests and Wilcoxon tests with SPSS. Results showed significant improvements in feeding patterns and growth outcomes: height increased (p = 0.009) and weight improved significantly (p = 0.007) after educational interventions. Furthermore, parental knowledge improved from 54.5% to 100% in the ‘good’ category, and appropriate feeding patterns rose from 19% to 100%. These findings suggest that structured parental education can significantly enhance child nutrition and growth, supporting the implementation of targeted health programs. The study emphasizes the vital role of Posyandu in follow-up support and recommends expanding similar interventions to other under-resourced regions to reduce stunting rates nationally.

Abstract

Policy agility is critical for infrastructure financing institutions like PT SMI, which faces delays in policy development due to centralized decision-making, poor communication, and inadequate knowledge transfer, hindering alignment with product timelines and RJPP 2024–2028 goals. This study investigates how integrating Agile and KM frameworks (SECI model, APO KM Framework) can mitigate these delays. Using mixed methods—qualitative interviews and quantitative APO KM Maturity assessments—the research identifies key gaps in PT SMI’s processes and proposes a combined Agile-KM approach. Findings reveal that Agile’s iterative cycles and KM’s knowledge-sharing mechanisms enhance policy-product alignment, with pilot projects demonstrating reduced bottlenecks. The study provides a scalable implementation plan, emphasizing cross-functional collaboration and centralized knowledge repositories. Implications suggest this framework improves PT SMI’s operational efficiency and offers a replicable model for similar institutions, bridging a gap in the literature on Agile-KM synergy in financial policy development.

Abstract

Achievement motivation and social support are critical factors in academic success, yet their relationship remains underexplored in specific university contexts. This study examines the correlation between social support (measured via MSPSS) and achievement motivation (assessed using McClelland’s scale) among UKSW psychology students. Methods: A quantitative correlational design was employed with 234 participants selected via voluntary sampling. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation, normality, and linearity tests in SPSS. Results indicated a positive but non-significant relationship (r = 0.034, p = 0.604), suggesting that the effect is weak while higher social support aligns with increased motivation. Linearity testing (p = 0.548) confirmed a linear but insignificant trend. The study highlights the need for further research on moderating variables (e.g., cultural, personality factors) and the role of specific support types (emotional, instrumental) in shaping motivation. These insights can inform interventions to enhance student well-being and academic performance.
