Abstract

Global supply chain crises due to war, pandemics, climate change, and exchange rate fluctuations have put great pressure on food price stability in developing countries, including Indonesia. This impact not only increases the price of local agricultural products, but also suppresses the sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which are the backbone of the national food economy. This study aims to analyze the influence of the global supply chain crisis on the price of local agricultural products in Indonesia, identify the main transmission channels, and formulate a business continuity plan (BCP) strategy that is applicable to agricultural MSMEs. The research uses a mixed-method approach through quantitative data analysis of food commodity prices for the 2022–2024 period, combined with semi-structured interviews and questionnaires to 20 agricultural MSMEs in West Java, Central Java, and South Sulawesi. Data were analyzed by descriptive-statistical techniques and qualitative thematic analysis. The findings show an increase in domestic rice prices of more than 16% and logistics costs increased by 30% during the study period. Most MSMEs (72%) report increased input costs, while key adaptation strategies include supplier diversification, spare stock, and digital adoption. MSMEs that implement a dual strategy are able to reduce the risk of supply disruptions by up to 30% compared to those that do not adapt. This research contributes to strengthening the literature on food supply chain resilience as well as providing practical recommendations for MSMEs and the basis for public policies that are more in favor of price stability and community food security.

Abstract

The post-pandemic development of hybrid work has changed the way global organizations manage cross-border teams. This work model presents opportunities for flexibility, but it also poses challenges of coordination, technostress, and intercultural miscommunication. In this context, cultural intelligence (CQ) is an important competency to maintain the effectiveness of global team collaboration. This study aims to analyze the influence of the four dimensions of CQ on the performance of hybrid global teams, examine the role of communication norms as mediators, and assess the moderation effect of hybrid work design and technostress. The research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data was obtained through an online survey of 245 respondents working on hybrid global teams in Southeast Asia. The analysis was conducted with SEM-PLS to test direct relationships, mediation, and moderation, and fsQCA to explore the configuration of factors that affect team performance. The findings show that all dimensions of CQ have a positive effect on performance, with motivational CQ (B = 0.41) and behavioral CQ (B = 0.36) as the main predictors. Communication norms have been shown to mediate the CQ–performance relationship, while the hybrid design of the 3–2 pattern reinforces the influence. Technostresses act as a negative moderator that weakens the impact of CQ. Configuration analysis revealed that a combination of high CQ, clear communication norms, structured hybrid design, and low technostress are optimal conditions for improving team performance and retention. This research confirms the need for organizations to integrate CQ training, hybrid communication regulations, and a balanced hybrid work design to ensure the effectiveness and well-being of global teams.

Abstract

Digital transformation in developing countries opens up new opportunities for technology-based entrepreneurship, but the benefits are not fully inclusive due to the digital divide, limited access to finance, and varying quality of infrastructure. This research aims to analyze how techno-entrepreneurship can bridge innovation and inclusive growth by examining the role of digital capabilities, digital financial inclusion, as well as the moderation of digital public infrastructure and pro-inclusive policies. The method used is mixed-methods with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data was collected through a survey of 300 technology-based MSME actors and analyzed using SEM-PLS, while qualitative data was obtained through in-depth interviews and FGDs to enrich the interpretation of the results. The findings show that digital capabilities have a significant effect on inclusive growth (B=0.47, p<0.01), while digital financial inclusion plays a role as a partial mediator (B=0.21, p<0.05). The analysis also confirms that digital public infrastructure and pro-inclusive policies strengthen the link between digital capabilities and inclusive growth outcomes. The integration of qualitative data supports quantitative outcomes, with empirical evidence that digital literacy, fintech access, and policy support are key to expanding the impact of techno-entrepreneurship. The implications of this study emphasize the need for a multi-level strategy that connects micro, meso, and macro aspects in order for digitalization to truly drive equitable, participatory, and sustainable economic growth in developing countries.

Abstract

Global geopolitical fragmentation has triggered significant changes in the structure of international supply chains. The COVID-19 pandemic, trade wars, and tensions between economic blocs have exposed the vulnerability of single sourcing and highly concentrated supply chain models. This condition requires companies to review their business strategies to be more adaptive, resilient, and sustainable. This study aims to map geopolitical risks and supplier concentrations, evaluate the impact of friend-shoring and near-shoring strategies on costs and resilience, and test the effectiveness of site portfolio designs and supplier contracts in improving supply chain resilience with cost efficiency. The research method uses a qualitative approach with comparative case studies combined with descriptive quantitative analysis. Data was collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews with supply chain managers, analysis of company documents, as well as SEM-PLS modeling to test the relationship between restructuring strategies, geopolitical risk, and company performance. The results show that dual/triple sourcing and hybrid sourcing strategies are more effective in increasing resilience with relatively controlled cost increases. The implementation of digital technologies such as ERP, predictive analytics, and digital twins has been proven to strengthen scenario planning capabilities and reduce distribution delays. The findings also confirm the trade-off between cost, resilience, and sustainability, where companies that are able to balance these three aspects gain a long-term competitive advantage. The implications of this study confirm the need for a geo-risk-adjusted total cost framework as the basis for the formulation of a global supply chain restructuring strategy. Companies are encouraged to adopt a digital and sustainability-oriented approach to be better prepared for geopolitical uncertainty.

Abstract

The transformation of digital accounting is an urgent need for agri-fintech startups in developing countries. The complexity of agricultural transactions, the demands of compliance with IFRS/XBRL standards, and the increasing cyber risks demand an accounting system that is not only efficient but also transparent and auditable. This research aims to identify the factors influencing the adoption of digital accounting, evaluate its impact on information quality and regulatory compliance, and design a conceptual model that is able to integrate technological, organizational, regulatory, and risk aspects in the context of agri-fintech startups. The research uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data was collected through a survey of 45 agri-fintech startups in Southeast Asia and analyzed using PLS-SEM. Qualitative data was obtained through in-depth interviews with 7 selected startups and analyzed by thematic analysis. The results show that internal factors, such as technology readiness, organizational support, and perceived benefits and ease of use, play a significant role in adoption. The adoption of digital accounting improves the reporting quality and readiness of XBRL, but cyber and operational risks negatively affect the accuracy of reports. This research resulted in an Agri-Fintech Digital Accounting Capability (AF-DAC) model that integrates cloud accounting, blockchain ledger, RegTech–XBRL, and cyber risk panels. These findings provide a theoretical contribution to the digital accounting literature and are practical for startups, regulators, and investors in designing adaptive, secure, and sustainable accounting transformation strategies in the agri-fintech sector.

Abstract

Global food security faces serious challenges due to climate change, market volatility, and limited access to nutritious food. Agricultural technology innovation (AgriTech) is seen as one of the solutions to increase productivity and efficiency, but its implementation among smallholders still faces various obstacles, especially related to costs, digital literacy, and limited infrastructure. This research aims to evaluate the balance between agronomic efficiency and social inclusion in the implementation of AgriTech, identify effective mentoring models, and formulate policy recommendations oriented towards equity in access. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design on smallholders in rural Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 25 participants, field observations, and simple questionnaires of 50 respondents, then analyzed with Miles and Huberman's interactive model combined with quantitative descriptive analysis. The results show that AgriTech is able to increase productivity by an average of 12% per planting season and reduce input costs, but there are still significant obstacles in the form of application costs, limited internet networks, and low digital literacy. The findings also show that blended extension approaches (a combination of face-to-face and digital counseling) and collective institutional strengthening have proven effective in expanding adoption. This research confirms that sustainable food security can only be achieved through a balance between technological disruption and smallholder inclusion. Policy implications include subsidies for application access, integration of fintech services with digital advisory, and digital literacy programs to strengthen the capacity of farmers to utilize technological innovations.

Abstract

The development of the digital economy has given rise to the phenomenon of the attention economy that makes human attention the main resource in the world of work, especially in the creative sector. This study aims to explore the impact of cognitive fragmentation caused by digital distractions on creative work productivity. The approach used was qualitative with a phenomenological design, involving 15 creative workers in major Indonesian cities who were interviewed in depth. The results showed that attention disorders such as notifications, multitasking, and high connectivity expectations led to a decrease in the quality of focus, ideation, and work output. Individual adaptation strategies such as time-blocking and digital detox have not been effective enough without systemic support from the organization. These findings confirm the need to redefine productivity in the context of digital work as well as the importance of attention management policies in creative work environments. This research makes a practical contribution to the development of a more humane and sustainable digital work policy.

Abstract

The global climate crisis has become a new frontier for capitalist expansion through disaster-based speculative markets. This study aims to analyze how global financial networks and instruments such as catastrophe bonds and carbon credits are utilized to accumulate capital from climate uncertainty. Employing a qualitative approach with a critical case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis of policy and financial reports. The findings reveal that disaster capitalism exacerbates adaptation inequality between developed and developing countries and distorts climate policy responses through risk narratives manipulated for financial gain. These insights highlight the urgent need for community-based alternatives and equitable global regulation to ensure a just and sustainable climate response.

Abstract

MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy, yet their productivity remains hampered by limited resources, digital readiness, and business process governance. The emergence of agentic AI, artificial intelligence-based agents capable of autonomously planning, remembering, and executing tasks, offers opportunities to reduce administrative burdens and improve workflow efficiency. This study aims to map the opportunities and barriers to implementing agentic AI in MSMEs, design an Agentic-MSME Alignment (AUA) framework, and examine its impact on productivity and service quality indicators. A mixed-methods approach was used, including surveys of 30 MSMEs in three major cities, in-depth interviews with 10 MSMEs, observations of AI prototype implementations, and system log analysis. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests and thematic analysis to validate the results. The findings show significant improvements in time efficiency, sales, and customer satisfaction. Interviews confirmed that the greatest benefits were accelerated customer response and reduced administrative burden, although concerns were raised about data privacy and output errors. The integration of the AUA framework has been shown to strengthen transparency, reduce administrative errors, and encourage a new division of labor between AI and humans. This study provides empirical evidence that agentic AI can be a productivity partner for MSMEs, provided there is increased digital literacy, ethical governance, and community support. This research contribution not only broadens academic knowledge on AI in MSMEs but also offers practical guidance for developing inclusive digital transformation policies and strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant shock to global economic stability, including Indonesia, through growth contractions, soaring inflation, and exchange rate volatility. This research aims to analyze the dynamics of monetary policy and its influence on Indonesia's macroeconomic stability in the post-pandemic period. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, questionnaires to 120 licensed employees in the financial sector, as well as observations of macroeconomic indicators, the study yielded several important findings. First, monetary policy, especially the adjustment of the benchmark interest rate (BI7DRR), has proven effective in suppressing inflation from 5.5% in 2022 to 3.2% in 2023, while maintaining the stability of the rupiah exchange rate in the range of Rp14,800-Rp15,500 per USD. Second, the results of the questionnaire showed that 73% of respondents considered monetary policy effective in controlling inflation and 81% considered the exchange rate stable, but only 62% of respondents assessed that the policy encouraged MSME credit recovery. Third, the results of the interviews emphasized the importance of coordinating monetary and fiscal policies, especially in energy and food price controls, to support short- and medium-term stability. These findings confirm that while monetary policy plays an important role in maintaining macro stability, its limitations to real sector recovery demand cross-policy synergy. This research provides an academic contribution in the form of integration of empirical data and practitioner perceptions, as well as practical implications for the formulation of adaptive, collaborative, and inclusive monetary strategies in the midst of post-pandemic global dynamics.
