Abstract

One crucial component of the School Health Unit (UKS) program is the recording of medical records and the reporting of students' health conditions. Implementing digital health records in the UKS offers various benefits, such as facilitating the documentation of health screening results, immunization status, nutritional status, medical history, periodic health check-up results, and follow-up health services for students. Despite the ongoing advancement of health digitalization, the implementation of digital health records in UKS remains relatively limited due to constraints such as inadequate information technology infrastructure, low user competence in utilizing digital technology, and a lack of integration between school health data and the information systems of healthcare facilities. Given this context, it is important to conduct research on user acceptance regarding the utility of a digital health recording system for UKS using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. The objective of this study is to analyze the level of student acceptance regarding the design of a digital health recording system for UKS. This study employs a descriptive quantitative method. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri Batam, involving 30 respondents who serve as UKS administrators at the school. Data collection methods included field observations and the distribution of questionnaires. The questionnaire was designed based on the SUS (System Usability Scale) method. Results: The "UKS Care" application is a mobile-based prototype designed to assist UKS activities in the digital recording and management of student health data. The application features several key components: Student Data, Health Check-ups, Medication, Schedules, Health Education, Reports, Notifications, and User Profiles. Analysis results indicate that the UKS Care application achieved an average SUS score of 80, placing it in the "Acceptable," "Grade A," and "Excellent" categories. Conclusion: The UKS Care application is accepted by users as a digital health recording system for UKS.

Abstract

The Laboratory Installation is a supporting unit that plays an important role in clinical diagnosis through specimen examination. This study aims to analyze the management standards of the Medical Laboratory Installation at X Hospital Pekanbaru in 2025 based on four aspects: human resources, facilities, infrastructure, and standard operating procedures. This qualitative research used a descriptive approach through in-depth interviews and observations involving six informants (medical support service manager, laboratory analysts, unit head, and patients). The results showed that the number of laboratory analysts was insufficient to support 24-hour services, resulting in high workloads and multitasking. This condition is influenced by limited hospital funding due to a decrease in patient visits to the laboratory. In terms of facilities, the laboratory lacked essential equipment in accordance with standards, such as an autoclave, biosafety cabinet, and spectrophotometer, and quality control was not carried out routinely. Regarding infrastructure, deficiencies were found in active protection systems such as hydrants, automatic sprinklers, and evacuation routes, as well as the absence of accessibility facilities for persons with disabilities. This is due to the laboratory being located in an old building not designed according to current technical standards. Although standard operating procedures are available, their implementation remains suboptimal, as some staff members do not fully use personal protective equipment, and several work processes are still conducted manually. It is recommended that the hospital increase budget allocation proportionally to hire more analysts, complete laboratory equipment, conduct gradual infrastructure renovations focusing on safety and accessibility, and strengthen supervision, monitoring, and evaluation—while enforcing discipline for staff who fail to comply with PPE protocols—to ensure safety and service quality in the laboratory.

Abstract

The Occupational Health Effort Post (Pos Upaya Kesehatan Kerja/Pos UKK) is a community-based health service designed to improve the occupational health and safety of informal sector workers through promotive, preventive, basic curative, and rehabilitative interventions. However, the implementation of Pos UKK in many community health centers remains suboptimal due to various organizational and resource-related constraints. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the Occupational Health Effort Post (Pos UKK) at the Koto Baru Community Health Center in 2025 and to identify factors influencing its implementation as the basis for developing improvement strategies. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, field observations, and document reviews. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, while source and method triangulation were applied to ensure data credibility. The findings revealed that the implementation of Pos UKK had not been carried out optimally due to the absence of a dedicated budget, limited management commitment, inadequate competency of health personnel and occupational health cadres, weak cross-sectoral coordination, and the lack of a structured monitoring and evaluation system. Recommended improvement strategies include strengthening human resource capacity through training, policy advocacy to secure financial support, enhancing cross-sector collaboration, and establishing a sustainable monitoring and evaluation system. These strategies are expected to improve the effectiveness of Pos UKK implementation and strengthen occupational health services for informal sector workers.

Abstract

Background:Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem in Indonesia, characterized by a high disease burden and persistent treatment failure. Adherence to anti-tuberculosis drug (ATD) therapy is a key determinant of successful treatment. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between medication adherence and treatment outcomes among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Indonesia through a systematic review. Methods: This study employed a systematic review based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. A literature search was conducted for articles published between January 2020 and March 2026 using several scientific databases. Eligible studies assessing medication adherence as the primary variable and treatment outcomes in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis were included and analyzed qualitatively. Results: A total of eight studies met the inclusion criteria. All included studies reported a significant association between medication adherence and treatment outcomes. Patients with high adherence were more likely to achieve successful treatment and recovery, whereas poor adherence was associated with an increased risk of treatment failure, loss to follow-up, relapse, and drug-resistant tuberculosis. Factors influencing medication adherence included patients’ knowledge and motivation, family support, the role of Treatment Supporters (PMO), and access to and quality of healthcare services. Conclusion: Medication adherence is significantly associated with treatment outcomes among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Indonesia. Therefore, interventions aimed at improving adherence through patient education, strengthening family support, optimizing the role of Treatment Supporters (PMO), and improving healthcare service quality should be prioritized to enhance the success of the national tuberculosis control program.
