Abstract

Hospital claims are reimbursement submissions for healthcare services provided to National Health Insurance (JKN) participants administered by BPJS Kesehatan. Incomplete or inaccurate claim documents may result in Pending claim status, leading to delays in payment to healthcare facilities. This study aimed to determine the relationship between administrative aspects, coding processes, and medical documents with the completeness of BPJS Kesehatan outpatient claims at RSD Idaman Banjarbaru. This research employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The research instrument consisted of a checklist sheet for claim document completeness. The study population included all outpatient claim submission files for the period of July–September 2025, totaling 386 files. The sample comprised 196 files selected using purposive sampling techniques based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis was conducted through univariate and bivariate approaches using the chi-square test. The statistical analysis results demonstrated significant relationships between administrative aspects, coding processes, and medical documents with the completeness of BPJS Kesehatan outpatient claims, as indicated by a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). It can therefore be concluded that improving administrative accuracy, coding precision, and the completeness of medical documents is essential to minimize incomplete claims and prevent Pending claim status. It is recommended to strengthen coordination among coding staff, physicians, and verifiers to improve claim accuracy, as well as to implement double-check procedures for coding before claim submission. In addition, continuous training programs and routine internal audits are necessary to identify and address the causes of claim discrepancies.

Abstract

Mortality statistics, including the Gross Death Rate and Net Death Rate, are crucial parameters for assessing the quality of hospital services. PKU Muhammadiyah Temanggung Hospital experienced significant fluctuations in mortality rates, requiring in-depth analysis post-pandemic. This study aims to analyze past trends and predict GDR and NDR values for the 2026-2030 period as a benchmark for strategic management decision-making. The research method employed a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative analysis (2021–2025) used the least squares method, while qualitative aspects were explored through structural interviews to identify managerial and clinical factors that influence mortality rates. The results showed a GDR, which peaked at 42.83‰ in 2021, decreasing to 24.56‰ in 2025. The NDR decreased from 25.57‰ to 11.36‰. Epidemiologically, there has been a shift in the leading cause of death from COVID-19 in 2021 to stroke in 2022-2025. Prediction results estimate a GDR of (-1.18‰) and an NDR of (-7.19‰) in 2030. This decline is driven by improved facilities, updates to the emergency department, specialist doctors, and strengthening intensive care (ICU/HCU) services. The study's conclusions indicate that quality has consistently improved in line with mortality trends that are below the Indonesian Ministry of Health standards. Recommendations for hospitals include optimizing 24-hour stroke unit services, integrating statistical visualization into information systems, and strengthening official documentation of death audits with medical committees to support accreditation.

Abstract

Almost all hospitals use radiology aircraft that have an automatic exposure factor system, including in the regulation of tube voltage. However, the value of the automatic exposure factor is not adjusted to the patient's condition or the thickness of the object. Since the tension linkage of the tube does not correspond to the thickness of the object, research must be carried out to optimize the tension value of the tube according to the anatomical data collected. This study aimed to determine how the variation in tube tension affects the anatomical information on lateral projection cranium radiography. Knowing the value of the tube voltage used to best show anatomical information, radiography, radiography, cranium, lateral projection, and relationship to each other. The place this research is RSKD Dadi, Makassar. This research was carried out through a quantitative method with an experimental approach. The research tool collected data through observation and questionnaires. Radiography results of lateral projection cranium examination with kV variation. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS test. The results showed that the ideal tube voltage value to use was 75 kV, with the highest average values of 7.63, 6.00 for 80 kV and 4.72 for 85 kV. The test results showed that the three cranial radiographies had different qualities. The significance value is 0.000 less than 0.05. The use of good tube voltage to use based on the questionnaire is 75 kV, because it can show the quality of clear anatomical details so that it is easy to analyze.

Abstract

Claim submission is a crucial aspect of the healthcare financing system, particularly within the context of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program administered by BPJS Kesehatan. A BPJS Kesehatan claim is the process of submitting invoices for healthcare services provided by hospitals to JKN participants, which are then billed collectively to BPJS on a monthly basis. To this end, hospitals are required to submit complete supporting documents that comply with applicable regulations. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the timeliness of BPJS Health claims submission at Dr. Soeratno Gemolong General Hospital. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, which allows the researcher to gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of the issues occurring in the field. Data collection was conducted through triangulation, which combines observation, in-depth interviews with relevant informants, and a document review. The research findings indicate that delays in claim submission are influenced by several factors, including the lack of specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the Medical Records unit that detail the claims process, frequent incompleteness of medical records due to important documents not yet being filled out or signed by the attending physician, human resources for claims processing being sufficiently optimized but still facing challenges at certain times due to incomplete medical records, as well as infrastructure constraints such as a lack of computers, scanners, printers, and internet connectivity issues. These factors significantly hinder the document digitization and verification process, resulting in delays in submitting claims to BPJS Kesehatan.

Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education has become an essential necessity in the era of globalization, including in the implementation of try-out examinations to prepare students for competency tests. The implementation of try-outs using the Paper-Based Test (PBT) method still faces several challenges, such as high operational costs, the risk of cheating, lengthy result-processing times, and increased paper usage that negatively impacts the environment. Therefore, this study aims to design a web-based Computer-Based Test (CBT) system for medical record competency test try-outs to support a more effective, efficient, flexible, and secure evaluation process. The method used in this study is the waterfall method, which consists of literature study, requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and system testing stages. The results of this study indicate that the web-based CBT application for medical record competency test try-outs was successfully developed and is capable of meeting students’ needs in conducting examination simulations in a more practical and structured manner. The designed system also provides convenience in question management, test implementation, and rapid and accurate result processing. Thus, the design of this web-based CBT system can serve as an alternative solution to improve students’ readiness in facing medical record competency examinations more optimally.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been increasingly adopted in radiology services to improve diagnostic and operational efficiency. However, its implementation requires substantial investment, highlighting the need for evaluation from both effectiveness and economic perspectives. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of AI implementation in chest radiology services across Awal Bros Group Hospitals by assessing service turnaround time (TAT) and cost per case. A quantitative analytical study with a retrospective pre–post observational design was conducted using secondary data collected from eight hospitals within the Awal Bros Group network. Service performance before and after AI implementation was compared using turnaround time indicators, including waiting time and report interpretation time. An economic evaluation was also performed to assess operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The results demonstrated statistically significant improvements in service performance following AI implementation (p < 0.001). The median waiting time decreased from 12.08 to 9.65 minutes, while the mean report interpretation time decreased from 25.95 to 20.93 minutes. The economic evaluation further indicated improved operational efficiency and favorable cost-effectiveness, reflected by a lower cost per case after AI implementation. In conclusion, the implementation of AI in chest radiology services significantly improved operational efficiency by reducing turnaround time and optimizing service costs. These findings support the value of AI as a strategic digital health technology that enhances radiology workflow and contributes to the sustainability of hospital digital transformation.
