Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of referral healthcare service quality in the KJSU-KIA program (Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Stroke, Uronephrology, Maternal and Child Health) on patient satisfaction at Sawerigading Regional General Hospital (RSUD Sawerigading Palopo) using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. Strengthening referral healthcare services has become one of the national health transformation priorities in Indonesia to improve access, quality, and continuity of healthcare services, particularly for catastrophic and priority diseases. This research employed a quantitative explanatory design with a cross-sectional approach involving 200 patients receiving KJSU-KIA referral services. Data were collected using SERVQUAL-based questionnaires covering five dimensions of service quality: Tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and Empathy. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The findings revealed that reliability, responsiveness, and assurance had a significant positive effect on patient satisfaction, while Tangibles and Empathy did not show significant effects. Among all dimensions, responsiveness was identified as the most dominant factor influencing patient satisfaction. The structural model demonstrated strong explanatory power with an R² value of 0.618, indicating that service quality dimensions explained 61.8% of the variance in patient satisfaction. The study concludes that improving responsiveness, reliability, and professional assurance is essential to enhance patient satisfaction in referral healthcare services within the KJSU-KIA program at RSUD Sawerigading Palopo.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has driven the transformation of medical record systems from paper-based records to Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). The implementation of EMRs provides various benefits, including improved operational efficiency, data accessibility, and healthcare service quality. However, digitalization also presents challenges related to patient data confidentiality and security, including the risks of data breaches, unauthorized access, and cyberattacks. This study aims to explore the evolution and challenges of medical record confidentiality in storage systems during the digitalization era. A qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach was employed. Informants were selected using a non-probability sampling technique through purposive sampling. The results showed that, from the man aspect (human resources), the competence and readiness of personnel in maintaining the security and confidentiality of medical records were adequate, although the availability of information technology personnel remained insufficient. From the money aspect, funding requirements for maintaining the security and confidentiality of medical records were proposed through the hospital planning department. Regarding the material aspect, the facilities and infrastructure supporting EMR implementation at X Hospital Pekanbaru were almost fully available. From the method aspect, the hospital had established standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to electronic medical records. Meanwhile, the machine aspect indicated that the implementation of technology and equipment supporting the security and confidentiality of medical record data, both manual and electronic, had been carried out relatively well. Therefore, strengthening information technology human resources, enhancing staff capacity, and continuously optimizing digital security systems are recommended to maintain the confidentiality and security of medical record data in the digital era.

Abstract

The implementation of digital transformation in healthcare services has encouraged BPJS Kesehatan to introduce the Mobile JKN application as an effort to improve service efficiency and accessibility for National Health Insurance (JKN) participants. This study aimed to analyze the impact of Mobile JKN implementation on the speed of information access and claim services for BPJS Kesehatan participants at RSIA X in 2025. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving three active JKN participants who used the Mobile JKN application and two BPJS service officers. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques. The results showed that the implementation of Mobile JKN accelerated access to participant information, online queue services, service schedules, and referral status digitally. The application also improved administrative service efficiency through faster participant data verification and reduced queues at administrative counters. In addition, the use of Mobile JKN accelerated the claim service process because participant data had been integrated with the BPJS Kesehatan system. However, several obstacles were still identified, including internet network disruptions, system errors, and low digital literacy among some participants. Overall, the implementation of Mobile JKN had a positive impact on improving the quality of digital-based BPJS Kesehatan services.

Abstract

The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is an essential component of digital transformation in healthcare services and has become mandatory for all healthcare facilities in Indonesia. One of the key elements supporting EMR implementation is medical record digitization, which aims to improve the efficiency of patient data management and facilitate timely access to health information. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of medical record digitization in Electronic Medical Record activities at RSIA Budhi Mulia Pekanbaru. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Four informants participated in the study, consisting of the head of the medical record unit, registration officers, and medical record processing staff. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using qualitative methods. The findings revealed that medical record personnel involved in the digitization process possessed appropriate educational qualifications and had received training related to EMR implementation. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for EMR implementation were available and consistently applied. Supporting facilities and infrastructure, including computer equipment and internet networks, were considered adequate. However, a weakness was identified in the system security aspect, namely the absence of an automatic account-locking feature, which may increase the risk of unauthorized access to medical record data. The study concludes that the implementation of medical record digitization at RSIA Budhi Mulia Pekanbaru has generally been well implemented in terms of human resources, SOPs, and supporting infrastructure. Strengthening system security through the development of account protection features is recommended to enhance the confidentiality and integrity of electronic medical record data.

Abstract

The implementation of Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) plays an important role in improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare services. However, evaluations of end-user satisfaction, particularly among registration officers, remain limited. This study aimed to analyze user satisfaction with the KHANZA HMIS at the Registration Unit of Hospital X using the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) method. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed involving four registration officers and one head of the registration unit as informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document review, then analyzed using qualitative content analysis based on five EUCS dimensions: content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness. The findings revealed that KHANZA was generally perceived positively by users. Ease of use emerged as the strongest dimension due to regular training and system familiarity. Content and accuracy dimensions were considered adequate in supporting registration activities, although limitations were identified in patient history summaries and data correction processes. Meanwhile, format and timeliness dimensions still require improvement, particularly regarding interface design and system response time during peak service hours. The study concludes that KHANZA effectively supports registration services; however, interface enhancement, infrastructure optimization, and improved information retrieval features are needed to increase overall user satisfaction.

Abstract

Digital transformation through the Mobile JKN app aims to improve healthcare services, yet getting patients to actually use it remains a challenge. This study uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to analyze how perceived usefulness, ease of use, and user attitude influence the intention to use the app at Islam Metro Hospital. The research design used in this study is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 1,809 Mobile JKN users at Islam Metro Hospital, from which a sample of 328 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected via questionnaires distributed to these 328 respondents, followed by validity and reliability tests, and correlation analysis using the Spearman rank test. The research findings indicate a significance value of 0.000 (which is leq 0.05), meaning there is a significant relationship between the three variables perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and attitude toward use and the Behavioral Intention to Use the Mobile JKN application at Islam Metro Hospital, leading to the rejection of H0. The correlation coefficients for Perceived Usefulness (r = 0.523) and Perceived Ease of Use (r = 0.551) fall into the moderate category, while attitude toward use (r = 0.723) shows a strong relationship and stands as the most dominant factor. Participants' intention to use the Mobile JKN application is heavily determined by a positive attitude, which is formed by the benefits and ease of use perceived by the users. For future research, it is recommended to include other variables outside the TAM model, such as internet connection quality or facility support factors, considering that there are still influencing factors beyond the variables examined in this study.
