Abstract

Adolescence is a critical stage for self-concept development, yet many junior high school students experience low positive self-concept, influenced by academic pressure, peer comparison, and social expectations. This study developed and evaluated the Sambatan Peer Counseling Model, a culturally grounded, structured intervention designed to enhance positive self-concept among junior high school students in Madiun City, Indonesia. Using a research and development (RD) design, the model was developed based on humanistic principles and local cultural values of mutual cooperation. Feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness were assessed through expert validation, small-group trials, limited field testing, and a main operational trial involving 48 students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using questionnaires, observations, and interviews, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and nonparametric tests. Results show that the model is feasible and practical, with high expert validation and implementation scores. Effectiveness testing revealed significant improvements in positive self-concept in the experimental group, while the control group showed no meaningful change. Qualitative observations further indicated increased participation, self-confidence, and positive social interaction. These findings suggest that the Sambatan Peer Counseling Model provides a holistic and culturally relevant approach to supporting adolescents’ cognitive, emotional, and social development. The study recommends adopting this model in school counseling programs and conducting further research to explore its broader applications and long-term effects.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of technological infrastructure and regulatory quality on financial inclusion across six middle-income ASEAN economies over the 2011-2024 period. A Fixed Effects estimator with Driscoll-Kraay corrected standard errors is employed to address cross-sectional dependence and non-constant error variance. Both financial inclusion and technological infrastructure are operationalized as PCA-derived composite indices, while the Regulatory Quality Index serves as the measure for institutional quality. Empirical results indicate that regulatory quality exerts a positive and statistically significant effect on financial inclusion, whereas technological infrastructure yields no significant impact. With respect to the control variables, GDP per capita and urban population share positively and significantly shape financial inclusion outcomes, while inflation exerts a negative and significant effect. Overall, these findings suggest that institutional quality, economic capacity, and structural conditions are more consistent drivers of financial inclusion than digital infrastructure availability alone. The findings further indicate that the contribution of technological development is contingent upon supportive regulatory frameworks and stable macroeconomic conditions. Accordingly, policies aimed at expanding financial inclusion should integrate digital infrastructure development with institutional strengthening, macroeconomic stability, and efforts to address structural disparities in access.

Abstract

Digital transformation has had a big effect on the retail and fashion industries by using information technology, especially web-based information systems. Cutton and Co, a local brand that makes clothes, bags, and wallets, still has problems with inventory management and sales recording because they do it all by hand using spreadsheets. This could lead to errors in data entry, delays in updating data, and problems with making reports. Lack of data integration between divisions and limited access to information also hinders the company's operational efficiency. The goal of this research is to design and build an integrated web-based information system that will help with real-time, accurate, and automatic stock management and transactions. The developed system is expected to enhance interdepartmental collaboration, accelerate business processes, and offer flexible data access. This system also supports production planning and sales performance analysis. The implementation of this system is expected to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, minimize recording errors, and facilitate accelerated, data-driven decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic impact, level of community participation, and sustainability challenges in the development of Lejja Tourism Village, Soppeng Regency, as a community-based tourism model. The approach used is qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed using open coding methods to identify key themes emerging from the experiences of communities and local stakeholders. The results of the study show that tourism development in Lejja has a positive economic impact in the form of income diversification, the growth of local culinary and handicraft businesses, and the increasing role of village institutions such as BUMDes. However, these economic benefits have not been evenly distributed due to limited access to capital and differences in geographical positions between village areas. The level of community participation is still dominant at the implementation stage, while involvement in strategic decision-making is still low due to the top-down governance model. In addition, sustainability challenges arise such as increasing waste volume and decreasing hot water discharge that demand the application of the triple bottom line principle in environmental governance. On the other hand, communities show high adaptive capacity through social solidarity and local business innovation that can maintain economic resilience during times of crisis. This study concludes that the development of Lejja Tourism Village can be an instrument for economic empowerment and community resilience if managed through collaborative governance, strengthening human resource capacity, and inclusive and sustainable tourism policies. These findings enrich the literature on community-based tourism in rural Indonesia’s context and provide practical recommendations for local governments and village institutions in strengthening local economies based on sustainable tourism.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the transformation of Shariah supervision in the digital era, as well as to identify the challenges and opportunities arising from the adoption of technology in the Islamic finance sector. Using a qualitative descriptive method and content analysis of relevant literature, the study finds that digitalization offers significant opportunities to enhance transparency and the efficiency of Shariah supervision through technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). These technologies enable faster, more accurate, and automated transaction monitoring. However, significant challenges arise, particularly in terms of global regulation, differing interpretations of Shariah principles across countries, and limited technological literacy among members of the Shariah Supervisory Board (SSB). Therefore, the digital transformation of Shariah supervision requires collaboration between regulators, Islamic financial institutions, and the religious scholar community to develop a comprehensive regulatory framework. Additionally, enhancing technological literacy for SSB members is crucial to enable them to conduct supervision that is responsive to the rapid advancements in digital technology. This study contributes new insights by proposing the adoption of digital technologies that can improve the efficiency and transparency of Shariah supervision, while also addressing existing challenges in regulation and Shariah interpretation. Suggestions for future research include further exploration of the implementation of global regulatory standards that can be accepted by countries with differing interpretations of Shariah principles, as well as examining the impact of technological literacy on the quality of supervision carried out by the SSB.

Abstract

Inequality in access to renewable energy presents a significant challenge to achieving sustainable development in agrarian villages throughout Indonesia. This research investigates the dynamics of community empowerment in the uptake of renewable energy within rural agricultural contexts, specifically focusing on Aceh Tamiang Regency. Utilizing a grounded theory methodology, the study operates within the framework of critical constructivism, positing that energy is not solely a technological instrument, but a socio-cultural construct influenced by local knowledge, governance, and collaborative institutional frameworks. The research methodology encompasses a range of qualitative approaches, including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, participatory observations, and document analysis, engaging various stakeholders such as farmers, village officials, extension workers, and institutions. The analysis employed open coding, axial coding, and selective coding techniques, resulting in a conceptual model reflecting three interconnected pillars: (1) energy literacy and community empowerment, (2) adaptive village governance aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and (3) multi-stakeholder institutional synergy. Key findings indicate that the effectiveness of renewable energy initiatives hinges not only on technological advancements and financial resources but also on essential collective values such as cooperation, social learning, and trust within the community. In extending Zimmerman’s empowerment framework, this study incorporates local cultural dimensions, enriching Geels’ socio-technical systems theory by emphasizing moral and spiritual influences and enhancing Rhodes' network governance theory through the integration of trust and social capital. This research contributes to the discourse on energy transition by offering a bottom-up, socially grounded theoretical model that reconceptualizes renewable energy as both a catalyst for rural empowerment and a mechanism for socio-institutional transformation. It highlights that the path towards sustainable energy development in rural areas necessitates a harmonious interplay of community engagement, inclusive governance, and cooperative institutions. Consequently, energy emerges not merely as an economic asset but as a vital social force promoting justice, dignity, and resilience in agrarian lifestyles.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the elements that influence Kediri Regency's public sector organizations' performance accountability.  The study mainly looks into how organizational responsibility is affected by accounting control, reporting systems, legal and regulatory compliance, financial officers' accounting knowledge, and financial management information systems.  A quantitative method was used, combining partial least squares (PLS) analysis with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique.  The results show that performance accountability in public sector organizations is significantly impacted by accounting control and reporting systems. The accounting proficiency of financial officers and adherence to regulatory requirements also have a beneficial, if smaller, impact.  Although the financial management information system contributes to increased accountability and openness, its impact is comparatively less significant than that of the other elements.  Furthermore, the study finds that strengthening public sector accountability requires key components like effective leadership, engaged community involvement, and the growth of human resource skills.  For the Kediri Regency local government, these findings provide insightful information that emphasizes the necessity of consistently bolstering financial systems, reporting protocols, and control mechanisms in order to increase accountability and transparency in the provision of public services.
