Abstract

Abstract

Lipstick is a cosmetic product applied to the lips and is likely to be ingested along with saliva, food, or drink. The repeated use of harmful synthetic dyes in lipstick can have adverse effects on health. Therefore, safer natural dye alternatives are needed, such as mangosteen fruit peel extract (Garcinia mangostana L.), which contains anthocyanin compounds as natural dyes due to the purple-red color of the mangosteen fruit peel. This study aims to formulate and evaluate the physical quality of lipstick using natural dyes from mangosteen peel extract based on the standards SNI 16-4769-1998 and SNI 16-4399-1996. The method used was laboratory experimentation with maceration techniques using 96% ethanol as a solvent. Three lipstick formulas were created with varying concentrations of extract: F1 (3 grams), F2 (5 grams), and F3 (7 grams). The quality evaluation of the formulations included organoleptic testing, pH measurement, stability testing, homogeneity testing, adhesion testing, and melting point testing. The results showed that all formulas had good color, texture, aroma, and shape stability. Formulas 2 and 3 met the lip pH requirements (4.5-7), while formula 1 was below the safe limit, showing a pH value of 4.41. All three formulas showed good homogeneity with no coarse particles, adhesion of more than 4 seconds, and melting point that met the standard (52-53.5°C). Based on these evaluation parameters, it can be concluded that Formula 2 and Formula 3 are the most optimal formulations and have the potential to be further developed as cucumber fruit extract-based lip balm.

Abstract

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has become a popular phenomenon among Generation Z in Madiun City, serving not only as entertainment but also as a medium for building social relationships. Communication among MLBB players tends to be cooperative and supportive, although it can also be aggressive at times. This study aims to explore the patterns of verbal and nonverbal communication among young adult MLBB players in Madiun. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method, based on DeVito’s interpersonal communication theory and Walther’s Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) theory. The results show that verbal communication patterns are dynamic and creative, utilizing in-game chat, voice chat, and special slang terms such as "gas," "gg," "santuy," and "otw" to coordinate strategies, motivate teammates, and build closeness. The communication styles identified include cooperative, aggressive, and supportive approaches. Meanwhile, nonverbal communication appears through the use of emojis, quick chat, recall spam, and hero gestures, which reinforce verbal messages, express emotions, and enhance team cohesion. These communication patterns help create an enjoyable gaming atmosphere, strengthen teamwork, and foster social interaction among young adult players in Madiun City.

Abstract

Hospitals are workplaces with diverse potential hazards, thereby increasing the risk of occupational accidents and diseases. Managing these potential hazards can be done by implementing occupational health and safety (OHS) standards in accordance with Permenkes No. 66 Tahun 2016. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with the implementation of OHS standards among nurses at Class II Putri Hijau Hospital. This research is an analytic survey with a crosssectional approach. The sample consisted of 100 respondents selected using proportionate stratified random sampling and data were collected through interviews using questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using the chisquare test. The results showed a significant relationship between biological factors (p<0,05), ergonomic factors (p<0,05), and electrical factors (p<0,05) with the implementation of OHS standards. The implementation of OHS standards, specifically the standards of OHS Risk Management, Hospital Safety and Security, and Fire Prevention and Control has not been optimally applied, as only 35% of nurses implemented the standards properly. This is due to inadequate risk identification, control, and mitigation, as evidenced by the presence of biological agents (viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites) that can cause infectious diseases, tasks still being performed manually, improper working postures, and the persistent risk of electrocution, fire, or explosion. It is recommended that the hospital strengthen its commitment to OHS implementation by conducting regular training and socialization, imposing sanctions for non-compliance with PPE usage and hand hygiene protocols, maintaining protective biological facilities, providing adequate PPE and vaccination access, ensuring legal protection, addressing ergonomic complaints, supplying ergonomic assistive devices, performing regular electrical system maintenance, providing fire extinguishers and early fire detection systems, and establishing fire response teams in every unit.

Abstract

This study explores the professional competence of Native English Teachers (NETs) in the context of Indonesian junior and senior high schools, with a specific focus on An Namiroh Junior High School in Pekanbaru. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with both experienced and novice NETs. The research identifies key dimensions of professional competence beyond linguistic proficiency, including the use of communicative and student-centred teaching strategies, intercultural awareness, and emotional support for students. The findings highlight that while NETs bring valuable language expertise and innovative pedagogical approaches aligned with Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), they also face challenges such as limited familiarity with the local curriculum and differing educational expectations. Teachers who engage with the local culture and language tend to demonstrate greater adaptability and classroom effectiveness. The study concludes that NETs’ professional competence is shaped not only by their native fluency but also by their intercultural competence, pedagogical adaptability, and willingness to engage in continuous professional development. Recommendations include the provision of structured orientation programs and collaborative opportunities with local educators to enhance NETs’ integration and impact in Indonesian schools.

Abstract

Technological advances, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), have driven major transformations in the education system, including in Indonesia. The 2025 Curriculum is a response to this dynamic, positioning the Pancasila Student Profile as the central axis balancing 21st-century competencies with character building. However, the digital era also brings serious challenges such as disinformation, value deculturation, and social alienation, which threaten the moral integrity of the younger generation. This article aims to systematically analyze the strategic role of character education in the 2025 Curriculum and formulate an integrative strategy between character and technology. Using a qualitative approach based on literature, this research examines curriculum policies, character education practices, and the potential use of AI to support value-based learning. The analysis shows that character education cannot be replaced by technology, as character is formed through affective, reflective, and social processes that can only be facilitated by human interaction. However, AI can be an effective tool if designed ethically and contextually, such as through project-based learning, digital storytelling, gamification, and character e-portfolios. Therefore, the integration of character education and technology in the 2025 Curriculum presents a strategic opportunity to shape students who are not only intellectually intelligent but also morally resilient in the digital age.

Abstract

Hafiz Perabot faces challenges every year in selecting quality wood raw materials for the production process. This selection process is still done manually, so the decisions made are less precise, take a long time, and are inefficient. To improve production efficiency and ensure the use of quality raw materials, a more optimized system is needed. The solution to overcome this problem is to implement a web-based Decision Support System (SPK) using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. This method calculates the weighted sum to produce rankings as a basis for decision making in the selection of quality wood raw materials. The application was developed using the PHP programming language with a MySQL database for fast and accurate data management. The results of this study indicate that there is 1 quality wood raw material received from 10 wood material data, namely V8 (Ulin) with Rank 1. This Decision Support System can help Hafiz Perabot in determining quality wood raw materials, thereby improving production quality and efficiency in the decision-making process.
