Abstract

This study explores the implementation of green governance in East Java’s maritime infrastructure development as the principal gateway to sustainable Nusantara. Positioned strategically as a national logistics and socio-economic hub connecting Java and Indonesia’s new capital (IKN), East Java possesses strong institutional, geographic, and community capacities to lead the green maritime transition. This research highlights how environmentally responsible port management, the efficiency and transparency of the Sea Toll program, and collaborative governance among the government, regional enterprises, MSMEs, and coastal communities contribute to sustainable development. Despite regulatory fragmentation, limited funding, and low environmental literacy, grassroots innovation and civic participation have emerged as transformative social capital. This study emphasizes the need to strengthen public policy alignment, expand fiscal incentives for sustainable ports, and enhance community-based environmental education as key strategies to accelerate an inclusive and socially responsive maritime governance model that supports IKN connectivity and regional welfare.

Abstract

The​‍​‌‍​‍‌ history curriculum in primary schools across Southeast Asia frequently continues to be the inheritance of colonialism, which means that it is dominated by a Western-derived, evidence-based "historical past" that largely disregards local narratives and ways of knowing. This​‍​‌‍​‍‌ article argues for the decolonization of history through the deliberate application of Michael Oakeshott's concept of the "practical past" and the use of regional and local literature. The present study, through a systematic review of the literature, shows that the dominant "historical past" model not only structures but also deepens the dependence of the knowledge system from which it originates. Therefore, it explores literary works to liberate the local people, such as historical novels, folktales, and legends, as authentic and reliable sources of community identity, core values, and "practical" historical knowledge. The findings show that such a blend results in a social change pedagogy that makes the class a dialogical space for the teacher's knowledge delivery and historical ​‍​‌‍​‍‌deliberation. Students' historical empathy, critical multimedia literacy, and deep bond with their cultural heritage are some of the outcomes of this approach. However, there are still many issues, such as the lack of teacher preparedness, the conflict between fact and meaning in the curriculum, and the limitations of standardized testing. The article posits that the "decolonial" strategy, which accords the "practical past" equal ontological and epistemological status with other aspects, does not mean the abandonment of academic rigor but rather its enhancement. This, in turn, facilitates the development of a pluriversal historical consciousness, which is a prerequisite for the formation of identity-secure and critically engaged future generations in Southeast ​‍​‌‍​‍‌Asia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship education and creativity on the entrepreneurial interest of female students in Malaka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The background of this study is based on the high poverty rate and suboptimal utilization of entrepreneurial potential in the area. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method of 72 respondents selected incidentally. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, including 20 statements for the entrepreneurship education variable and 30 statements for the creativity variable. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the classical assumption test, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The results show that entrepreneurship education has a positive but insignificant effect on entrepreneurial interest, whereas creativity has a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect, contributing 51.2% to the variation in entrepreneurial interest. These findings indicate that creativity is a dominant factor in shaping the entrepreneurial interest of female students, while entrepreneurship education requires strengthening methods and contextual support to be effective. This study recommends the development of an applicable curriculum, business incubation programs, and funding and mentoring support to build an adaptive and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in the local area.

Abstract

The employment problems experienced by Generation Z (born in 1997-2012) as the youngest workforce are currently attracting the attention of many parties. Various studies and the existing literature show that employment problems are structural and cultural. However, from various studies and literature, there is still not much comprehensive discussion of the various employment problems experienced by this generation. Therefore, this study aims to describe the various employment problems experienced by Gen Z. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through library research with Miles and Huberman’s interactive model of data analysis techniques. The results of this study show that there are four main categories that color the dynamics of Gen Z employment: the decline in employment in the formal sector, the generation gap and differences in work preferences, the tendency to be voluntarily unemployed, and the dynamics of the gig economy that color the Gen Z job market. The findings show that Generation Z's employment problems are related to limited employment opportunities and changes in the orientation, values, and expectations of the younger generation towards the world of work, which are interrelated. This research is expected to contribute academically and practically to current employment issues, especially as a study material for developing employment policies that are pro-Gen Z and benefit many parties.

Abstract

According to the Indonesian Code of Criminal Procedure, the evidentiary system in criminal law remains grounded in the principle of individual responsibility, which presumes free will. However, the incorporation of neurocriminological approaches into legal practice introduces ontological and epistemological conflicts that have not been systematically addressed by existing legal frameworks. This study aims to examine the tension between the concept of individual criminal liability and the deterministic framework of neuroscience and evaluate the admissibility of neuroscientific evidence within the criminal evidentiary system. This study employs a normative legal method with a conceptual approach. The findings indicate that Indonesia's criminal law lacks a conceptual framework capable of bridging the gap between moral culpability and biological vulnerability, thereby risking a loss of coherence in the attribution of legal responsibility to offenders. Furthermore, the absence of normative and procedural mechanisms for assessing the validity, limits, and relevance of neuroscientific evidence creates epistemic asymmetries and opens the door to bias in judicial proceedings. Under such conditions, integrating neuroscience into the legal system risks generating ambiguity in determining liability and undermining the principle of substantive justice. Accordingly, a normative reconstruction of evidentiary law is required as a foundational step to ensure legal consistency in responding to scientific advances.

Abstract

Customary forest management is an integral part of environmental sustainability and welfare of Indigenous communities. This article aims to review the role of the Dayak Kanayatn indigenous community in the management of the Bukit Marang Customary Forest from a political sociology perspective. This study focuses on the interactions between traditional values, public policies, and socio-political dynamics that influence forest resource management. This study used a descriptive research design with a qualitative approach. Primary and secondary data were obtained from the literature. The results show that the Dayak Kanayatn community plays an essential role in forest conservation, guided by a solid customary system and local wisdom principles. These roles from the socio-political review of this study include (1) forest conservation guardians, (2) local knowledge-based forest management, (3) customary law enforcers, (4) cultural and spiritual custodians, (5) biodiversity protectors, (6) land conflict mediators, and (7) promoters of sustainable development. This article recommends steps to strengthen the empowerment of Indigenous communities in facing current socio-political dynamics through collaboration between actors ranging from the government, advocacy organizations, and communities.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and formulate aspects that influence buyer decisions and the behavioral impulses that emerge from consumers when streamers conduct live shopping on the Shopee marketplace. This study aims to determine the close relationship between streamers and their viewers, thus influencing increased sales. In Indonesia, sales activities through marketplaces have experienced a significant increase, with a variety of available applications and features. Therefore, a method is needed that is not only informative, but also visually appealing, emotionally, communicative, and has an impact on improving the community's economy. This study aims to develop verbal and nonverbal methods for streamers during live shopping. This is an effective solution for identifying patterns that influence buyer decisions. This research method uses Video Data Analysis (VDA) and visual studies, namely methods that focus on what is depicted in visual data. Visual data are used to depict, describe, or analyze social phenomena through Visual Studies, Multimodal Interaction Analysis, Ethnography, and Experimental Behavioral Studies.  Researchers will focus on the situational dynamics and behaviors of video and visual streamers during live shopping for various products, including fashion, food, household items, and electronics. The expected outcome of this research is a concept of verbal and nonverbal communication in live shopping that is relevant to all types of marketplaces.

Abstract

This study aims to explore teacher salary schemes as a strategic instrument for strengthening human capital formation in the context of Indonesia Emas 2045. This study uses a qualitative approach to understand the relationship between teacher compensation and human capital quality through a conceptual and contextual analysis. The literature review method was chosen because it systematically examines theories, empirical findings, and regulatory frameworks. The main sources of research include laws and regulations governing teacher welfare, official reports from state institutions such as the Central Statistics Agency and the Ministry of Education, and international publications, including the OECD, which provide cross-country comparative data. The data collection strategy involved selecting documents with high credibility, direct relevance, and up-to-date information, which were then analyzed using content analysis techniques that emphasized categorization, interpretation, and synthesis. The results of the study show that teacher salary policy reform is a strategic prerequisite for strengthening the quality of human capital and accelerating Indonesia's competitiveness. Evidence from the 2022 PISA results, which show a decline in mathematics, reading, and science achievement, confirms the urgency of improving instructional quality based on teacher welfare and professionalism in Indonesia. Human capital theory explains that investing in educators as knowledge producers can increase productivity and drive long-term growth through skill accumulation and innovation diffusion. Literature findings show that adequate compensation strengthens motivation, retention, and pedagogical commitment, whereas low salaries correlate with a decline in teaching performance and student engagement.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is the latest educational curriculum implemented in Indonesia to improve learning outcomes. This study aims to describe the perceptions of junior high school science teachers regarding the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum: a qualitative study in South Dampal District, Toli-Toli Regency. The method used in this study was descriptive and qualitative. The research instruments used questionnaires and interviews, and the data collection techniques included questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results show that junior high school science teachers' perceptions of the Merdeka Curriculum in South Dampal District are generally positive. This is demonstrated by indicators of absorption of external stimuli (80%), understanding (80%), assessment, and evaluation (80%). These findings indicate that teachers have a fairly good understanding of the concept, objectives, and implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. With this understanding, teachers can implement the Merdeka Curriculum more effectively in the learning process, thereby improving the quality of education in junior high schools in South Dampal District. In addition, teachers from schools that have implemented the Independent Curriculum and those that have not fully implemented it showed positive perceptions.

Abstract

Stunting in early childhood remains a major public health problem that significantly affects growth, cognitive development, and disease susceptibility. One of the key nutritional factors contributing to stunting is iron deficiency, which is closely linked to anemia and metabolic impairment. Spinach   is an affordable and locally available source of iron; however, its utilization in innovative food products for children is still limited. This study aimed to develop spinach flour–based cookies as an alternative supplementary food (PMT) to prevent stunting. An experimental design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three different formulations of spinach flour was applied. Organoleptic evaluation covering appearance, color, texture, aroma, and taste was carried out by trained panelists, and data were analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis test, followed by the Mann–Whitney test for significant differences. The nutritional composition was further examined using proximate analysis. The findings showed that the addition of spinach flour improved the iron content and dietary fiber levels while maintaining acceptable sensory qualities. Proximate analysis of the selected formula indicated moisture (3.40%), ash (3.14%), fat (28.88%), protein (6.93%), fiber (37.43%), and carbohydrate (57.65%) contents. These results suggest that spinach flour cookies can be a functional and culturally acceptable snack, providing a promising strategy to address iron deficiency and contribute to stunting-prevention programs. Further clinical and community-based trials are recommended to validate their efficacy in improving the nutritional status of children.
