Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out how much influence organizational culture and motivation have on the performance of secretarial unit employees at the West Java Provincial Education Service. The research methods used are descriptive methods and associative methods. The population in this study was 129 employees. Based on the research results, it is known that descriptively the three variables, namely Organizational Culture, Motivation and Performance are in the Good category. And in associative research there is a partial and simultaneous positive influence on the variables Organizational Culture and Motivation on Performance. Partially, the influence of organizational culture on the performance of secretarial unit employees at the West Java Provincial Education Service is 43% and the influence of motivation on the performance of secretarial unit employees at the West Java Provincial Education Service is 40.1%. Simultaneously, the influence of organizational culture and motivation on the performance of secretarial unit employees at the West Java Provincial Education Service is 83.1%

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to evaluate appropriate combination harvesting stage and plant spacing on chemical compositions, digestibility and its rumen degradability potentials of Desho grass. Three-by-three randomized complete block design was used to set up the experiment. factorial arrangements in three replications. The experiment employs three harvesting stages (75, 105 and 135 days) and three plant spacing (10, 30 and 50 cm). Prior to planting 100 kg/ha-1 combinations of Nitrogen, phosphate and sulfur fertilizer were applied to all plots. The chemical composition such as CP, DM, TA, NDF, ADF, ADL, cellulose and CPY and DMY yield parameters differed considerably (p<0.01). Hemi cellulose concentration, however, was not substantially (p>0.05) impacted. With the 30*105 combination, a higher dry matter yield (31.87 t/ha) was achieved. The treatment combination of 30*105 had the greatest CP content (12.37%). Treatment combinations have an impact on the properties of crude protein and dry matter in-sacco degradability. Thus, it is possible to conclude that, the treatment combination 30 cm*105 days has resulted in optimum yield and nutritive values of Desho grass under the current experiment around Adola. However, there is a need for further studies on different combinations of harvesting stage and plant spacing over years and locations to arrive at dependable conclusions

Abstract

Learning English at the high school level often faces various challenges, especially when it comes to attracting students. Based on initial observations at SMA Swasta Indonesia Membangun Medan for the 2023/2024 school year, it was found that many students in grades x2 and x1 felt less interested in learning English. Factors that may cause this lack of interest include material difficulties, lack of relevance of the material to daily life, multiple intelligences of students, teaching style of teachers and techniques of delegators in teaching. The research methodology used is questionnaires, interviews, and data collection. The types of research used are qualitative data and quantitative data. The findings of this study also aim to determine the influence of teachers' teaching styles on students' interest in learning English. Based on the results of research through interviews with teachers, the factors that affect students' lack of interest in learning English are because students have dominance or multiple intelligence in certain fields. And the results of the questionnaire given summarized that students' interest in learning was in the category of quite good, namely 69.03% out of 50 students. And for the delegator teaching style technique, it is done during the group discussion method because in the discussion students can work collaboratively and become teachers with each other

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through a contextual teaching-learning model in a ship stability course. This qualitative study employs a case study approach to deeply understand the application of contextual teaching in ship stability courses. The data collection method uses written tests and interviews. The subjects are all 38 third-semester Ship Operation Engineering Technology Study Program students in the 2023/2024 academic year. Tests were conducted twice: pre-test and post-test. The average pre-test score for critical thinking was 52.38, and the post-test average was 82.45, categorized as very good. The analysis concluded that students' scores were shallow before contextual learning but improved significantly to an excellent category after the application

Abstract

Aguilaria microcarpa Baill, commonly known as the Agarwood plant, is commonly used as a medicinal plant that is thought to be able to treat certain diseases because it contains chemical compounds in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, and tannins which can act as antioxidants and antibacterials and can be used as raw materials for the medicinal industry natural herbs. Testing in this research nature is semi-quantitative and is laboratory research in testing Aguilaria microcarpa Baill leaf extract based on characterization tests, chemical content tests, and antibacterial potential tests on growth activity of Salmonella typhi with inhibition zone parameters produced by the agar diffusion method. The results showed that Agarwood leaf extract (Aguilaria microcarpa Baill) with concentrations of 3%, 6%, 9%, and 12% w/v had the potential as an antibacterial against growth activity Salmonella thypi. The higher the concentration of the extract tested, the greater the inhibitory activity against bacterial growth. The most effective concentration is at a concentration of 12% w/v with a Sig value. 0.000 < 0.05   (Oneway Anova α = 0.05) in strong category inhibition ( 10 – 20 mm)

Abstract

This research aims to analyze communication patterns in the formation of self-concept in early adults who experience fatherlessness, analyze self-disclosure in early adults, and to analyze communication barriers felt by early adults who experience fatherlessness in Medan City. The theories used in this research are Symbolic Interaction Theory, Self-Concept and Self-Disclosure. This study uses a qualitative method. The number of informants in this study was 6 (six) early adults who experienced fatherlessness. The research results show that the absence of a father causes the emergence of dysfunctional communication patterns in the family which affects various aspects of the informants' lives such as communication with the surrounding environment and their self-concept. Communication barriers found in early adult individuals are psychological barriers or psychological noise, which is caused by the loss of the father's role due to death or his absence in the informant's growth and development during childhood. This condition creates a fear of communicating and causes difficulty in expressing feelings

Abstract

The 2024 election in Indonesia faces significant challenges related to political ambitions and legal defeats, which have impacted the integrity and implementation of the election process. Political ambitions from candidates and political parties often lead to violations of election rules, including the spread of misleading information and manipulation of voting results. Legal defeats, such as violations of campaign rules and the inability of law enforcement to handle these cases, undermine public trust in the democratic system and law enforcement institutions. This article examines the impact of these legal defeats and provides recommendations for reforms in election regulations, increased law enforcement, transparency, and political education. Comprehensive reform efforts are needed to ensure fair elections and increase public trust in the democratic process in the future

Abstract

Protection of press freedom in countries experiencing armed conflict is a critical issue to ensure transparent and accurate access to information during a crisis. Although international legal instruments exist, such as the Geneva Conventions and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, their implementation often faces challenges, including physical violence against journalists, restrictions on access to information, and intimidation. This study evaluates the effectiveness of international legal protections and identifies key challenges faced by journalists in the field. In addition, the study makes recommendations for strengthening international law enforcement, support for international organizations, national legal reform, and journalist training. These efforts are expected to improve the protection of press freedom and ensure that critical information remains accessible during times of conflict

Abstract

This research examines the cognitive, affective and conative responses of women administrators of the North Sumatra Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to the documentary video "Polygamy Polemic in Indonesia: Sharing Heaven" on the Vice Indonesia YouTube channel. This research involved non-participatory observation and in-depth interviews. There were six research informants and one triangulation informant. The information received resulted in saturated data. The results showed that the informants negotiated the film's content cognitively and affectively. Although they recognize the legal legitimacy of polygamy, they conatively refuse to engage in polygamous marriages. Apart from that, there are concerns among women administrators of the North Sumatra MUI that this broadcast could create negative stereotypes and position polygamy as an ambiguous law in Islam so that its practice is no longer relevant to carry out
