Abstract

Technological developments affect a person's life. One of the signs is the level of public health, life expectancy is getting longer, so the number of elderly residents will increase. The growth of the world's population aged over 60 years exceeds 7% of the total population. Indonesia is one of the countries with very rapid growth of the elderly population due to low mortality and birth rates. Problems that often arise in the elderly are fitness problems so that they are disturbed in carrying out daily activities. Interventions that can be given to help overcome the fitness of the elderly are elderly gymnastics. This activity was carried out with the aim of knowing the benefits of exercise in improving the fitness of the elderly. The intervention method used to overcome the fitness of the elderly is to offer elderly arts. The elderly exercise given is very useful to maintain and maintain conditions to stay fit and maintain physiological physical properties such as elasticity, contractility, and endurance. This activity is given to the elderly in Wakarleli Village, Southwest Maluku Regency in 2021. The measuring instrument used to measure the elderly's fitness is using arm curls. Respondents who took part in this activity numbered 11 people with an average age of over 60 years. After doing elderly exercise for 6 (six) times, p is 0.003 smaller than 0.05 (0.003 <0.05), which means that elderly exercise can improve the fitness of the elderly in Wakarleli Village in 2021.

Abstract

Skin infections or dermatitis are included in the ten most common diseases in Indonesia, so the use of antibiotics is very high. The increasing use of antibiotics will cause an increase in the use of inappropriate antibiotics. The purpose of this research and community service was to find out the leaf extract of suruhan (Peperomia pellucida L. Kunth) with a variety of solvents providing anti-microbial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria and conveying information to the public about the leaf extract that can be used as an acne medication. The results showed that the inhibition of ethanol extract and aquadest leaves of suruhan against the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria at a concentration of 25 mg/mL clear zone 6.0 mm ethanol extract and 5.4 mm aquadest extract (Potentially Weak), concentration 50 mg/mL diameter of the extract inhibition zone ethanol 8.46 mm and aquadest extract 6.53 mm (medium potential), concentration 75 mg/mL diameter of inhibition zone 12.96 mm ethanol extract and 8.53 mm aquadest extract (strong potential). From the research data obtained, it is socialized to the public regarding the antibacterial activity of the leaves of suruhan against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. The purpose of Community Service (PKM) is to provide information to the public that suruhan leaves can be used as an antibacterial to inhibit bacterial growth even with various types of solvent concentrations used. The conclusion in this study is that there are many plants that can be used to inhibit the growth and development of acne-causing bacteria, one of which is the leaf plant among young people.

Abstract

Pain is an unpleasant experience due to the presence of tissue damage. When a tissue is injured or damaged, it results in the release of materials that can stimulate pain receptors such as prostaglandins that will result in a pain response. Therapy using analgesic drugs can relieve pain. Empirically the roots of reeds are used as folk remedies for pain relief. Phytochemical screening results showed that reed roots contained flavonoids. Flavonoids contained in the roots of reeds can reduce pain by inhibiting the work of the enzyme cyclooxygenase. Tests that have been carried out on twenty male white rats induced using the infra red plantar test prove that there is a difference in the resistance of mice in resisting heat induction after being given the extract. Twenty male mice are divided into four groups. Three groups were given reed root ethanol extract at doses of 15, 30 and 60 mg/kg bb, one negative control group was given 0.5% CMC-Na and a positive control group was given mefenamic acid. The data obtained were processed using a one-way ANOVA and followed by a 95% level test. The conclusion can be that the higher the concentration the greater the analgesic power exerted, it is seen that the longer the response of mice in resisting the heat induction of the plantar test infra red.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease that often becomes a problem in health. One of the treatment patterns for hypertension patients that is often received by patients at the RSUD Drs. H. Amri Tambunan is Amlodipine from the CCB (Calcium Channel Blocker) group. The goal of hypertension treatment is to prevent morbidity and mortality due to high blood pressure by reducing pressure to as low as possible so as not to interfere with kidney function, brain function and quality of life. Hypertension is a disease that occurs due to an increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure values ??of more than 130/80 mmHg on two measurements with an interval of five minutes in a calm state. Hypertension is a condition in which a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal, namely systolic blood pressure 140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure 90 mmHg. Every 10 kg weight loss of obese patients can reduce 5-20 mmHg Systolic Blood Pressure (TDS). The purpose of this community service activity is so that people who seek treatment at Drs. H. Amri Tambunan can monitor his health condition. With the evaluation of the drug amlodipine, participants become more aware of matters related to hypertension and can take advantage of herbal plants that grow around their homes to prevent or treat hypertension.

Abstract

At this time many flavored drinks are traded in the market. Flavored drinks or what are often referred to as soft drinks are the terms used to describe the types of drinks that are sold in special packaging so that they can be consumed directly without having to be processed first. At this time the dyes that are often used in processed foods or beverages are divided into natural dyes and synthetic dyes. Synthetic dyes are generally made from chemicals. Sometimes entrepreneurs who want to make big profits use non-food grade dyes to give color to food or drinks. Rhodamine B textile dye is a synthetic dye in the form of a green or reddish-purple crystalline powder at high concentrations, while at low concentrations it is light in color and belongs to the basic xanthene group. Rhodamine B is made from raw materials of meta-diethylaminophenol and phthalic anhydride. These two raw materials are not edible but are only used for dyeing textiles, paints, paper, or clothing. These substances are often misused as food coloring and cosmetics in many countries. Foods found to contain Rhodamine B included crackers (58%), shrimp paste (51%), and snacks (42%). Rhodamin B is found in confectionery, syrup, sweets, dawet, porridge, smoked fish and cendol. Red-flavoured drinks that are traded in the Lubuk Pakam area contain Rhodamine B dye.

Abstract

Diarrhea is an infectious disease that can cause mortality in children under five and infants. One of the organisms that can cause diarrhea is bacteria. The bacteria that most often infect humans are Campylobacter bacteria, Salmonella bacteria, and Eschericia coli bacteria. Diarrhea can be characterized by the occurrence of bowel movements that are more fluid than usual with a frequency of more than three times in 24 hours. It is still found in the community that knowledge about the use of antibiotics for diarrhea patients is still minimal. Antibiotics are still often traded freely in pharmacies for conditions of digestive disorders, respiratory problems, and general conditions, so this seminar is very necessary to minimize these conditions. This seminar can provide information both to patients, health workers, and the public about the accuracy of treatment indications, patient accuracy, drug accuracy, dosage accuracy, timeliness of administration and accuracy of the way of administering treatment, which in this case is the use of antibiotics at the Hospital of Drs. H. Amri Tambunan 2022. This seminar was conducted based on retrospective medical record data and then analyzed descriptively using purposive sampling method. The result of this seminar is that the seminar participants understand and understand about the use of antibiotics for diarrhea conditions related to the accuracy of treatment indications, patient accuracy, drug accuracy, dosage accuracy, time of administration accuracy and accuracy of administration of antibiotics.

Abstract

Elementary school age children are a group of children who are prone to buying food or snacks carelessly because elementary school age children usually only see food from its shape, color and taste without seeing whether the food is good for consumption or not. If elementary school children consume unhealthy food, it can have an impact or effect on health, for example it can cause diarrhea or other digestive system disorders, besides that it can have an effect on their growth and development because the elementary school period is a time when a child needs good and healthy nutrition. . The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) is to provide education to elementary school children to change their behavior not to snack randomly. The PKM activity was carried out at SD N 104242 Lubuk Pakam for 3 days, to see the behavior before and after being given education about the impact of snacking indiscriminately, by distributing questionnaires and observing PKM participants. The results of the PKM show that before education the majority of knowledge is lacking, namely 52.3%, bad attitudes are 70.1% and actions with frequent snacks are 59.7%, and after education most of the knowledge becomes good up to 53%, attitudes become good 68.6% and the act of buying snacks indiscriminately became infrequent up to 58.2%. From the results of this community service, it can be concluded that the behavior of elementary school children is getting better, it is recommended for teachers or parents to keep an eye on their children so they don't snack randomly.
