Abstract

This article examines the Whoosh High-Speed Rail project as a form of public service innovation that is officially framed as a symbol of national progress and technological modernization. Behind this narrative, however, various structural issues reveal a significant gap between innovation claims and the actual quality of public service experienced by society. This study aims to analyze whether Whoosh represents a citizen-oriented public service innovation or merely a symbolic and elitist form of development. The research employs a literature review method by analyzing policy documents, academic publications, and relevant media reports related to the planning, financing, and implementation of the project. The analysis is guided by Mulgan and Albury’s public sector innovation framework, which emphasizes user orientation, public value creation, and sustainability. The findings indicate that Whoosh primarily reflects symbolic innovation, prioritizing political prestige and technological imagery over inclusive access and social equity. High ticket prices, weak intermodal integration, and fiscal risks demonstrate that this innovation deviates from the principles of public service as mandated by Law No. 25 of 2009 on Public Services.

Abstract

Learning evaluation is not only limited to the cognitive domain that can be measured through written or oral tests but also includes the affective and psychomotor domains, which are more appropriately assessed using non-test instruments. Non-test instruments are evaluation tools used to measure students’ attitudes, interests, motivation, personality, social skills, and behavior. This study aims to describe the concepts, objectives, and types of non-test evaluation instruments relevant to the learning process. The method used is a literature review by analyzing related references. The findings show that non-test instruments include observation, interview, questionnaire, checklist, case study, attitude scale, sociometry, portfolio, teacher’s journal or daily notes, and performance assessment. These instruments play a significant role in providing a comprehensive picture of students’ development, especially in the affective and psychomotor domains. Therefore, the use of non-test instruments complements test-based evaluation to achieve a more holistic and objective assessment in line with educational goals

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Influence of Work Motivation and Work Competence on Employee Performance at the Human Resources Development and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM) of Sidenreng Rappang Regency. This type of research is associative quantitative research. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling. The sample of this study was all employees at the Human Resources Development and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM) of Sidenreng Rappang Regency totaling 45 people. Data were obtained from primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaires and documentation. Hypothesis testing was carried out using multiple linear regression tests. Data processing used SPSS version 26 software. Based on the results of the tests carried out, it showed that the work motivation variable did not have a positive and insignificant effect on employee performance because the significant value of the t-test results (0.414) was greater than 0.05. The work competence variable had a positive and significant effect on employee performance because the significant value of the t-test results (0.000) was less than 0.05. Meanwhile, the variables of work motivation and work competence have a positive and significant effect on employee performance because the significant value of the f-test results (0.000) is smaller than 0.05. It is recommended for further researchers who want to study the same problem or phenomenon to be able to add other variables and indicators, use other methods, and add social theories to strengthen the arguments presented.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between the concept of equilibrium in physics and the implementation of Islamic governance, and how the two concepts relate to each other in the context of an Islamic state. In physics, equilibrium is achieved through the interaction of various forces within a system that continuously strives for stability, both in static and dynamic systems. This parallels the efforts of Islamic governments to maintain a balance between state authority, individual rights, and social obligations. Islamic governments emphasize the importance of social justice, reflected in state policies based on Sharia law, which aim to ensure social welfare by equitably considering individual rights and societal interests. In this study, the authors found that Islamic governance must be able to adapt to changing times and social dynamics, similar to the principle of equilibrium in physics, which always strives to achieve a stable state despite change. Socio-economic policies such as zakat and waqf serve to reduce social inequality, while the moral and ethical principles of sharia play a crucial role in maintaining this balance. This study concludes that the concept of equilibrium in physics provides a useful perspective for understanding the dynamics of Islamic governance, which is not merely static but also dynamic and adaptive to the demands of the times and the needs of society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of pop-up book media on student retention (memory). This research is an experimental quantitative research, quantitative research is a process of finding knowledge that uses data in the form of numbers as a tool to analyze information about what we want to know. By using the One group pretest posttest Design research design, namely an experiment carried out on one group only without a comparison group. This design is a development of the One Shot Case Study Design, namely by conducting one measurement in front (pretest) before the treatment (treatment) and after that another measurement (posttest) is carried out. The results of this study prove that there is an influence of Pop Up Book media on retention (memory) by obtaining the results of the sig. (2-tailed) hypothesis test of (0.000) which means that the significance is smaller than (0.05) or sig. (2-tailed) (0.000) < sig. (0.05). The average N-Gain is as follows: recall is 0.50 medium criteria, recognition aspect is 0.46 medium criteria, reintegrative aspect is 0.20 low criteria, overall pretest to posttest is 0.45, where medium criteria are obtained. With the acquisition of t count 8.167 > t table 2.086 H0 is rejected H1 is accepted so it can be concluded that there is an influence of Pop Up Book media on retention (memory) of grade III students of Elementary School 04 Kubang Putiah. So this media is considered effective in increasing student retention (memory) in each aspect, namely recall, recognition, and reintegrative.

Abstract

Knowledge occupies a central position in Islam and serves as a fundamental foundation for the formation of morally upright individuals and civilized societies. However, knowledge is not meant to remain at the level of theoretical understanding; it must be practiced and reflected in daily behavior. This article examines the concept of practicing knowledge from an Islamic perspective, emphasizing the integration of knowledge and moral conduct. Using a library-based research method, this study analyzes relevant verses of the Qur’an, prophetic traditions (hadith), and scholarly perspectives concerning knowledge and its application. The analysis reveals that beneficial knowledge is characterized by its ability to inspire positive behavioral change, cultivate noble character, and contribute to both personal development and social well-being. Knowledge that is not practiced loses its ethical value and fails to achieve its intended purpose. Therefore, the practice of knowledge is a key indicator of meaningful education and plays a crucial role in fostering a moral, responsible, and civilized society.
