Comit: Communication and Information Journal is a peer-reviewed national journal on communication, dakwah, broadcasting, education and Islamic studies managed by Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi Islam Institut Agama Islam Nasional (IAI-N) Laa Roiba Bogor in cooperation with Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah (MES) and Intelectual Association for Islamic Studies (IAFORIS) . This journal focused on communication, dakwah, broadcasting, education, and Islamic studies through the publication of articles, research reports, and book reviews. The Journal is published two times a year on April, October. The aim of the journal is to disseminate the communication, information, dakwah, broadcasting, and Islamic studies researches done by researchers. Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of implementing a fingerprint attendance system and providing incentives on employee performance in the hotel industry. The fingerprint attendance system is used to increase accuracy and efficiency in managing employee working time, while incentives function as motivation that can encourage increased work morale and productivity. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method involving employees at several hotels as respondents. The data collected was analyzed using multiple regression analysis to see the extent to which these two variables influence employee performance. The research results show that implementing a fingerprint attendance system has a significant effect on increasing punctuality and operational efficiency, while providing incentives is proven to increase motivation and job satisfaction which leads to better performance. Overall, implementing fingerprint attendance and providing incentives simultaneously can improve employee performance in the hotel industry. These findings suggest that hotel management needs to integrate an effective attendance system and appropriate incentive strategies to maximize productivity and service quality.

Abstract

This thesis aims to determine the effect of cash turnover, receivables turnover and inventory turnover on profitability in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2020 - 2023. This research uses independent variables, namely cash turnover, receivables turnover and inventory turnover. The dependent variable is profitability. The research period was taken for 4 years from 2020 to 2023. The research method uses methods with secondary data types. The results of the analysis in this research were that the descriptive statistical test was declared valid, in the normality test, there was no multicollinearity, no heteroscedasticity, the variables cash turnover, accounts receivable turnover and inventory turnover had an effect on ROA. Data was obtained from the annual financial reports of food and beverage sub-sector companies downloaded on the website www.idx.co.id.

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of a retrieval-based chatbot integrated with sentiment analysis to improve the efficiency of information services at Radio Untar. The chatbot developed uses the TF-IDF and cosine similarity methods to match user questions with FAQ data, and is able to handle requests for songs, articles, and podcasts. Sentiment analysis was performed on user interaction logs to assess satisfaction and effectiveness of answers. Based on the results of testing 150 interactions, the chatbot showed an increase in MRR scores from 0.468 to 0.91 and a satisfaction level from 50% to 92% after the fine-tuning process. These findings indicate that a lightweight chatbot retrieval-based system can be used effectively in a campus environment to improve digital interactions.

Abstract

Educational supervision is a strategic instrument for improving the quality of education in schools. This study aims to analyse various practices in the implementation of educational supervision and its impact on school quality enhancement based on a literature review. The method used is a systematic literature study of scientific articles, research reports, and policy documents that are certainly relevant to educational supervision and improving school quality. The findings show that effective educational supervision is characterized by a collaborative approach, a focus on improving teacher competence, and support from responsive school leadership and policies. Supervision that is carried out consistently and professionally has been proven to contribute positively to the quality of learning processes, teacher performance, and the development of a quality culture within schools. However, challenges remain, including limited supervisory competencies, a lack of continuous training, and teacher resistance to the supervision process. This review recommends strengthening a supervision system based on coaching and reflection, as well as improving human resource capacity as key efforts to achieve sustainable educational quality.

Abstract

This study analyzes the marketing communication strategy implemented in the "Energizing the Acceleration 67th" event by PT Pertamina (Persero) and its impact on the brand image of IHC Klinik Pertamina. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the marketing team, representatives of IHC Klinik Pertamina, and event organizers, supported by relevant documentation. The findings indicate that the communication strategy adhered to the eight stages of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) as proposed by Kotler and Keller, ranging from audience identification to communication evaluation. The continuous implementation of IMC, reinforced by emotional appeal, visual storytelling, and active audience participation, significantly enhanced the brand image of IHC Klinik Pertamina. Managerial implications include strengthening audience monitoring systems, mapping communication objectives, conducting media audits, and establishing a cross-divisional communication team to improve the effectiveness of future communication strategies.

Abstract

The increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) as part of the government's fiscal policy has caused various responses from the public. This study aims to determine public perceptions of the VAT increase policy by analyzing sentiments expressed through Twitter social media. A total of 1500 Indonesian-language tweets were collected using Tweet-Harvest in the period from June 1, 2024 to June 1, 2025. The data was then processed through the stages of cleaning, case folding, tokenizing, stopword removal, and stemming. Text features were extracted using the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method, and classified into positive, negative, and neutral sentiments using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm with a linear kernel. The classification results showed that neutral sentiment was the most dominant, followed by negative and positive sentiments. The SVM model performed well with an accuracy of 89.09%, proving its effectiveness in classifying Indonesian-language social media texts. This study is expected to provide input for the government in understanding public perception of the policies implemented, as well as demonstrating the potential of sentiment analysis as a tool in digital public opinion-based decision making.

Abstract

Prof. Amin Abdullah has a scientific integration mindset based on theory in accordance with understanding modern dynamics. Furthermore, Prof. Amin Abdullah has a mindset related to solving complex world problems today that cannot only be solved through the approach of one field or one discipline. The purpose of writing is to explain Prof. Amin Abdullah's thoughts in the integration of Islamic sciences. The method used is a qualitative research type through a literature review approach. The findings are that the Spider Web theory is a model integrated by Prof. Amin Abdullah. This aims to complete the science of needed connections between human reason, the universe, and the Qur'an. Based on the implementation of this theory, it can have an impact on answering the challenges of modernity and building epistemological foundations contextually, dynamically, and inclusively.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has driven significant transformation in the business landscape, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In the era of the creative economy, digital entrepreneurship innovation has become a key strategy to enhance competitiveness and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the forms of digital innovation adopted by MSME actors and to identify effective adaptation strategies in facing the challenges and opportunities of digitalization. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method through in-depth interviews and observations of MSME players in the creative industry sector. The findings reveal that the utilization of digital platforms such as social media, online marketplaces, and digital payment systems significantly improves market reach, operational efficiency, and customer engagement. Furthermore, successful adaptation strategies include increasing digital literacy, collaborating with digital communities, and developing market-driven product innovations. These findings emphasize that digital entrepreneurship innovation is a critical foundation for the resilience and growth of MSMEs within an ever-evolving creative economy ecosystem.

Abstract

Indonesia’s oil and gas (O&G) distribution relies on imports through various unloading ports with different monthly patterns. This study aims to cluster O&G ports in 2024 based on monthly import values using the K-Means algorithm. The method follows Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) stages: data selection, preprocessing, transformation, clustering, evaluation, and visualization. Analysis was conducted in Google Colab using Python with Scikit-learn, Pandas, and Matplotlib. Results show three main clusters: ports with high, medium, and low import volumes. Evaluation using Elbow Method and Silhouette Score confirmed that three clusters offer optimal separation. PCA visualization clearly shows cluster distribution. These findings support more efficient energy logistics planning and port infrastructure development based on data-driven insights.

Abstract

The esports industry is experiencing rapid growth and has given rise to the need for an information system that is able to present news quickly and relevantly. This study develops an interactive chatbot based on the BART (Bidirectional and Auto-Regressive Transformers) model to answer user questions directly based on information collected through web scraping. The system is designed using Python and Flask, and uses MongoDB as data storage. Evaluation is carried out through F1-Score and Conversation-Based Evaluation to assess system performance in terms of relevance, coherence, and fluency of answers. The results show that the chatbot is able to provide accurate and coherent answers with fast response times, although there are still challenges in terms of recall and understanding ambiguous contexts.
