Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The Sumenep Palace area is one of the cultural heritage relics of the Duke of Sumenep, which is still preserved today. This research aims to reveal the fractal model of door ornament in the Koneng Office of Sumenep Palace. A qualitative method with an ethnography type is used. Data were collected through initial observation, literature study, interviews, and documentation. Analysis of the fractal form is done with the Lindenmayer system method and constructed with the help of the L-Studio application. The results of the study revealed the existence of fractal structures on the door ornament of the Sumenep palace office. The length, angle, and ratio of each part of the ornament influence the fractal shape. The findings of this study can be utilized in learning mathematics in lectures, such as fractal geometry and computational geometry.

Abstract

The Jeffrey prior is noninformative prior formed from the Fisher information. However, nowadays, Fisher information is extended to generalized fisher information, which has various forms of specifications. Therefore, this paper aims to establish a theoretical framework of the extended Jeffrey prior based on generalized Fisher information as a first step of investigation for future research. The findings of this study are that the form of the extended Jeffrey prior varies depending on the type of generalized fisher information used. However, the posterior formed using the extended Jeffrey prior is not closed-formed and requires a more complex estimation algorithm than the standard algorithm.

Abstract

The research analyzes mathematical misconceptions about geometry material among prospective mathematics teacher students. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type. The research subjects were the Mathematics Education department students at Universitas Muria Kudus. Subjects were selected purposively by considering input from the Capita Selecta of Mathematics course teachers. Determining research subjects is based on test results on geometry material, which contains misconception schemes. The data collection method is through geometry material tests and interviews. Data analysis in this research was carried out in stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The research results show that misconceptions about geometry material are often found among prospective mathematics teacher students. Misconceptions in the geometric material of flat shapes, namely misconceptions in the definition related to the concept of parallelism and the relationship between the sub-materials of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, rhombuses, and kites. Misconceptions also arise when defining a right-angled trapezoid and determining the height of an obtuse triangle. Then, there are misconceptions about the sub-material of spatial shapes, namely the definition of tubes, cones, and pyramids. Misconceptions cause misconceptions, which are generally related to everyday meaning and practicality in explaining concepts.

Abstract

Mathematics education plays a very important role. By studying mathematics at the elementary school level, students will have strong basic knowledge of mathematics to study mathematics at the secondary school level. One of the learning materials that must be studied in grade 1 elementary school is addition. The teacher's selection of appropriate learning media for the material to be delivered can influence student learning outcomes. One effort that can be used to make addition material fun and attractive to students is by providing learning media in the form of beads. The research design used in this research is Classroom Action Research Design (PTK). This research was applied to one class with two learning meetings, namely at the first meeting it was taught without using bead media and in the second meeting using learning media in the form of beads. The results obtained are an increase ofthe percentage was 77%, which was previously only 36%. This use of bead media greatly influences the learning outcomes of grade 1 students at SDiT Bit Surakarta.
