Abstract

ABSTRACT Adolescents with anemia, adolescents with unwanted pregnancies, adolescents with early marriages, and free sex. The root cause of the emergence of these problems is the lack of knowledge of adolescents about reproductive health. The high number of teenagers in Indonesia is also accompanied by the problems faced by them. Of the various teenage problems that have arisen, the issue of sexuality has received the most attention from various groups. Adolescents often lack basic information about reproductive health and access to reproductive health services that are affordable and guaranteed confidentiality. Concerns about guarantees of confidentiality or the ability to pay, and the fact or perceptions of adolescents towards the disapproval shown by health workers, further limit access to services, even though these services exist. In addition, there are also legal barriers related to the provision of services and information to youth groups. Many of the adolescents lack or do not have a stable relationship with their parents or other adults, with whom they should be able to talk about reproductive health issues.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition characterized by high blood pressure, with systolic blood pressure levels of 140 mmHg or higher and diastolic blood pressure levels of 90 mmHg or higher. Hypertension affects people of all ages and social groups worldwide, with the number of individuals suffering from this condition continuously increasing year by year, including among the elderly. The elderly are individuals undergoing the ongoing process of aging, which is marked by a decline in the body's ability to cope with environmental stressors. This aging process represents a form of anatomical functional decline, which is, in fact, a biological phenomenon encompassing evolutionary and maturation signs that continue throughout an organism's life. One such change occurs in the vascular system, where thickening of the blood vessels in the elderly can lead to hypertension. Hypertension can be caused by several factors, including a lack of knowledge and unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as excessive salt consumption from fast food beyond normal limits. As a result, public awareness about hypertension prevention remains low.

Abstract

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a significant public health issue in Indonesia, including in Sampang Regency. This community service program aimed to enhance the understanding and awareness of students, teachers, and staff at MAN 1 Sampang regarding DHF prevention through education and the implementation of the 3M Plus method. The program methods included preparing educational materials, conducting interactive seminars, small group discussions, demonstrations, hands-on practices, and evaluations using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, from 40% before the activity to 85% afterward. Participants also reported greater confidence in identifying and eliminating mosquito breeding sites. Post-activity monitoring revealed that 80% of the school environment was free from potential mosquito habitats, although some areas still required special attention. The main challenge identified was raising community awareness to maintain environmental cleanliness. In conclusion, this program effectively increased awareness of DHF prevention in the school environment. It is recommended to establish a student health team, conduct periodic programs, and collaborate with local health centers to ensure program sustainability. The implementation of these measures is expected to serve as a model for other schools in preventing DHF cases.

Abstract

The community typically visits health services only when they are sick, yet they rarely undergo routine health check-ups, and they do not seek medical attention even when they show early symptoms of illness. The method used in this activity is health counseling to increase the coastal community's knowledge about health services. The participants showed great enthusiasm during the activity. Based on the questions asked, the community gained a better understanding of the importance of utilizing health services. Previously, they only used health services when ill, but now they are more motivated to take advantage of health services for prevention. From the questions raised, the participants were able to provide correct answers. According to the results of the questionnaires distributed, the participants were able to demonstrate increased awareness.  A major health issue in coastal communities is their lack of awareness about the importance of monitoring their health. The community tends to visit health services only when they feel sick, and many do not seek medical attention even after experiencing symptoms of illness.
