Abstract

Tobacco is the main raw material for cigarette production, so it is a dilemma for farmers when choosing to plant it. Uncertain weather in Indonesia has an impact on the success of tobacco cultivation. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and subjective well being in tobacco farmers in Jember Regency. This study used a cross sectional design with a proportional random sampling technique with a sample size of 422 tobacco farmers. The research instrument used the General Scale Efficacy questionnaire (α-Cronbach 0.76-0.9), Scale with Life Satisfaction (α-Cronbach 0.87), and Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (α-Cronbach 0.80-0, 84). This study uses Chi Square (CI = 95%). The results showed there was a relationship between self-efficacy and subjective well being in tobacco farmers (p = 0.000; OR = 4.856). The results of this study are tobacco farmers who have self-efficacy can face crop failure, and this is because of the experience of working as a tobacco farmer, which shows that tobacco farmers worked on average for 23 years with experience of crop failure as much as three times. If farmers have more experience, they can know the weaknesses and strengths of tobacco farming to overcome the problems in the scope of tobacco cultivation. Increased work experience, the farmer is getting bolder in making decisions and dare to bear the risk. This study are expected to help the public health office at the Primary Health Care Service to improve psychosocial health promotion efforts through a joint farmer group.

Abstract

Introduction: Patient’s visits to the emergency room increase in number every year. The increasing number of hospital visits is directly associated with the increasing number of patients who wait in the emergency department. The yellow zone is a part of the emergency room that has become a place for the most increased patients to enter. This situation causes boarding time patient longer than usual. The aim of this research was to analyse the various factors that have been associated with boarding time in the yellow zone emergency department. Methods: This research was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples was 78 respondents who were recruited with a non-probability sampling technique. The univariate and bivariate analysis was utilized to test the relationship between the variables. A further statistical test was conducted with linear regression to understand the most dominant factor. Results: The results showed a significant relationship between transfer time, laboratory turnaround time, diagnostic time, time arrival, insurance coverage, ratio nurse and patient and boarding time. Furthermore, multivariate analysis with linear regression showed a significant association between transfer time, laboratory turns around, and the ratio of nurses to patients with the boarding time. Conclusion: The findings from this study show that patient boarding time in the yellow zone should consider several factors. This research provides the output of the initial data as one of the basic considerations for service management and team minimum service standards in hospitals.

Abstract

Introduction: Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) impairs all aspects of the patient's life due to the decrease in physical function and lower quality of life, indicating an overall decreased health status. Self-efficacy as a psychological factor plays an important role in individuals maintaining a healthy lifestyle and improving their health status. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between self-efficacy and the health status of coronary artery disease patients. Methods: This study used an observational analytic research design with a cross-sectional approach. This study involved 112 respondents who were coronary artery disease patients in RSD Dr. Soebandi Jember obtained through the incidental sampling method. The data was collected using Cardiac Self-Efficacy (CSE) and Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ). The data analysis used the Spearman rank test with a 95% CI.Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between self-efficacy and health status (p = 0,001, r = 0.307, α = 0,05). Self-efficacy was in good category (71,41 points) while health status was also in the good category (79,56 points). Conclusion: The low positive correlation between the two variables shows that the higher the value of self-efficacy, the higher the value of health status. Good self-efficacy through healthy living behaviors can increase the health status of coronary heart disease patients. It is important for nurses to improve the psychological aspect of the patients including self-efficacy when optimizing their self-care and health status.

Abstract

Floods and landslides are crisis conditions for farmers who have the potential to cause trauma. The capacity of farmers to deal with, overcome and change due to traumatic experiences varies throughout life. Resilience will form coping mechanisms and influence mental health. Method: This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. Questionnaires were given to 100 farmers. Resilience was assessed using The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). Univariate statistical analysis to determine the proportion of resilience. Results: The mean resilience of farmers after a disaster is 95.72. Discussion: Resilience is a stable personality trait characterized by an individual's ability to rise again from negative experiences and the ability to adapt to continual changes in life. Farmers who are directly affected by a disaster are in a traumatic condition, so they are very vulnerable to stress. The mental endurance of each farmer is different, according to the influencing factors

Abstract

The problems of people with mental health disorders (PWMHD) include physical problems, psychological problems, and social problems. Jember Regency in 2018 had 514 new cases, and Panti village was ranked first with 114 clients (22.1%) of the total cases in the Jember Regency. Community views accompanied by cultural background often prevent families with PWMHD from coming to the health center to seek care and management of health services. Negative public views on PWMHD will reduce PWMHD visits to seek treatment so that cases of drug withdrawal will increase. Nurses have an essential role in providing nursing care to clients with mental disorders. Without knowledge of the cultural viewpoints of the community, nurses will find it difficult to find strategies to reduce the occurrence of stigma and discrimination in PWMHD This study uses an ethnography study, qualitative approach, and descriptive design to explore and understand about the Jember community view in the treatment of mental disorders with a perspective of transcultural nursing. The technique of collecting data uses in-depth interviews with a semi-structured interview guide involving seven participants, and the data were analyzed using interpretive phenomenology analysis. This research has passed the ethical test with ethical approval No.595 / UN25.8 / KEPK / DL / 2019. This research conducted five themes. First is the family efforts to seek healing; the second theme is received trials from God; the third theme is community stigma to people with mental disorders; the fourth theme is community expectations for people with mental disorders, and the fifth theme is community acceptance of people with mental disorders. Considering the impact that will arise from this condition if it does not get proper treatment, it is needed the role of health workers in providing services to the family to be able to increase visits to health services in order to improve the recovery of people with mental disorders.

Abstract

Patient’s visits in the emergency room (ER) increase in number in every year. The increasing number of hospital visits is directly associated with the increasing number of patients who come to the emergency department. The increased number of patients resulted in the buildup of patients in the ER, especially in the Yellow Zone and causing the boarding time after the inpatient decision was decided to be longer. The purpose of this study was to analyze the problems related to variables that have a correlation with the boarding time of the patient after the decision of hospitalization is decided in the yellow zone of the emergency department at RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung. The method of this research was analytic observational research with cross sectional approach. The number of samples was 78 respondents. The sampling technique used nonprobability sampling. Pearson test and Spearman test were applied to identify the correlation between variables and multivariate linear regression test was used to find out the most dominant factor in influencing patient boarding time after the decision of hospitalization was made. The result of bivariate test showed the correlation between boarding time with room preparation time (p = 0.000), laboratory test results (p = 0.000), diagnostic time (p = 0.000), and ratio between nurse and patient (p = 0.000). Boarding time was not correlated with time of arrival (p = 0.263) and insurance coverage (p = 0.980). Multivariate analysis with linear regression obtained result of constant value (B = 681.212), ratio between nurse and patient (p= 0.000; B = -861.011), bed occupancy time (p= 0.000; B =0.620) and diagnostic time (p=0.022; B = 2.636). The implication of this research is to get a formula that able to shorten patient boarding time after the decision of hospitalization was made and can give a standart time for boarding time.
