Purpose of the study: The main objective of this study is to examine the influence of perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, and perceived risks on the decision to use the DANA E-Wallet among Generation Z in East Jakarta. Methodology: The methodology used is a quantitative approach. This study was conducted only in East Jakarta with 102 Generation Z respondents residing in East Jakarta. The data analysis techniques employed in this study include instrument testing, prerequisite analysis testing, hypothesis testing using partial tests (t-test), and multiple linear regression analysis. Main Findings: The results of the testing conducted in this study show that perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, and perceived risks have a positive and significant impact on the decision to use the DANA e-wallet among Generation Z in East Jakarta. Novelty/Originality of this study: The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of technology, including the use of e-wallets. Studies conducted after the pandemic may show changes in consumer behavior, particularly in the digital financial transaction habits of Generation Z. Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to explore the Bara’an tradition of the Bengkalis Malay community and analyze its character values to be utilized as a source for strengthening character education in Islamic Religious Education learning at schools. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach with an analytical-descriptive method. The study was conducted in Pangkalan Batang Village, Bengkalis District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. Data were collected through field studies, literature reviews, and interviews, which were then analyzed in accordance with the research objectives. Main Findings: The findings reveal that the Bara’an tradition is similar to halal bi halal but has unique local adaptations in Bengkalis. The tradition involves handshaking and seeking forgiveness, sharing meals, reciting shalawat (Marhaban), and concluding with a prayer led by an imam or group leader. The core character values reflected in the Bara’an tradition include religiosity, nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, and integrity, which align with Indonesia’s national character education framework. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This study provides a new perspective on integrating indigenous Malay traditions into character education, specifically in Islamic Religious Education learning. It offers a thematic integration model, demonstrating how traditional cultural values can be systematically incorporated into the Islamic Religious Education curriculum to strengthen students' moral and ethical development.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to explore Jean-Paul Sartre’s existentialist perspective on human existence, emphasizing radical freedom and the responsibility of individuals in defining their own meaning in life. The research investigates how Sartre's concept of existentialism positions humans as autonomous subjects in constructing their essence. Methodology: This study employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing a literature review method. The primary sources include Sartre’s major works, such as Being and Nothingness, along with secondary analyses from contemporary existentialist scholars. Data are analyzed through content analysis to examine Sartre’s views on freedom, responsibility, and self-determination. Main Findings: The findings reveal that Sartre perceives human existence as devoid of inherent meaning, compelling individuals to create their own purpose through conscious choices. His concept of bad faith illustrates the tendency to escape from existential responsibility, whereas authentic existence requires embracing radical freedom. Sartre’s framework highlights the psychological tension between autonomy and existential anxiety. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers a fresh interpretation of Sartre’s existentialism by relating his views to contemporary issues of identity, freedom, and personal responsibility. It extends the discussion of existentialist ethics in modern society and provides a deeper analysis of Sartre’s influence on current philosophical and social discourses on human autonomy.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to examine the mediating role of academic procrastination in the relationship between academic stress and burnout among college students in Regions XI and XII, Philippines. Methodology: The study employed a quantitative, non-experimental correlational design. Data were collected through an online survey consisting of 64 items rated on a 5-point Likert scale. A sample of 250 college students was selected using stratified random sampling, and data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 and bootstrapping with 5,000 resamples. Main Findings: The results showed that academic stress significantly predicts burnout (β = 0.394, p < 0.001), while procrastination mediates this relationship by amplifying stress and increasing emotional exhaustion (β = 0.411, p < 0.001). These findings highlight stress as a critical factor in driving burnout and demonstrate the importance of addressing procrastination to improve student well-being. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study advances knowledge by exploring the mediating role of procrastination in the stress-burnout relationship, which has been underexplored in the literature. It highlights practical implications for community-based education policies and strategies to enhance student resilience and mitigate burnout in academic settings.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The research aimed to examine how well tutorial videos could aid in developing the pronunciation skills of Cambodian EFL learners and to explore their perceptions of this learning method. Methodology: Data collection employed both quantitative (pre-test and post-test) and qualitative (semi-structure interview) were used to figure out the significant difference between both groups and learners perceptions toward the use of tutorial video in enhancing pronunciation. Main Finding: The findings indicate that using technology-based teaching approach—tutorial videos effectively enhance pronunciation for Cambodian EFL learners between different socio-economic backgrounds, with private students achieving greater improvement due to the early exposure and technology accessibility. Moreover, despite minor challenges, learners find learning pronunciation through tutorial videos enjoyable, motivating, and beneficial in reducing speaking anxiety through repeated practices. The study also demonstrates its social implications of technology in language learning, as it can close the socio-economic gaps by providing equal learning opportunities, making them more competitive in the job market and for future academic success. It emphasizes the important for instructor of integrating technology in pronunciation, as it is equally important as other language skills. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study is original as no prior research at the researcher’s organization, National University of Battambang (NUBB). It mainly focusses on the effectiveness of tutorial videos on learners’ pronunciation from two different context—public and private schools which allows to explore the benefits of tutorial videos on English pronunciation development as well as fulfill the research gap at the institution.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: The study aims to 1) assess the use of farming inputs and rice productivity in Battambang and Svay Rieng provinces, Cambodia; 2) identify the factors influencing rice productivity; and 3) predict rice productivity based on farming inputs. It seeks to provide insights into optimizing rice production and improving farmers' livelihoods. Methodology: A survey was conducted across 7 villages, 2 communes, and 2 districts in Battambang and Svay Rieng provinces, with 148 samples collected. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods, including frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation, chi-square tests, one-sample t-tests, and p-value probability. Main Findings: The study revealed that the average number of family members involved in farming was 2 (70%), and land sizes ranged from 2-4 hectares (40%). DAP was the most commonly used chemical fertilizer (66%). Land size significantly affected rice productivity (93%), followed by seed quality (86% yield increase) and pesticide use (91% yield increase). Chemical fertilizers had a near-total impact on productivity. The study recommends reducing chemical fertilizers in favor of organic alternatives for safer and higher-quality rice production. Novelty/Originality of This Study: This study provides a detailed analysis of farming inputs and their impact on rice productivity in Cambodia, emphasizing the role of land size, seed quality, and chemical inputs. It highlights the need for sustainable practices, such as organic fertilizers, and calls for stronger government and NGO support in agricultural policy and technical assistance. Future research could explore the impact of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) on rice yield and quality.
